Someone says something you dislike and you cry out "racism". Well said mate. I got called out on being "racist" the other day because I mentioned that half of my electrical engineering class is Chinese. It's a fucking observation, literally HALF of my class has emigrated from China to my Canadian university... I will be using a few of your points when trying to get this across, thanks!

Note that I am not calling you a racist: I am merely pointing out that you effectively support racism (though I don't think the difference matters that much anyway since both are despicable).

By China "owning" the US, I assume you mean the large amount of US government securities that the Chinese are buying. A bond is not the same thing as a stock. A stock is a share in the ownership of a company. A bond is a loan. Basically, all the Chinese are doing is lending money to the US. In no way does our debt to the Chinese allow them to exert control over our government. In macroeconomic terms, they are the savers and we are the spenders. In an economy, in this case the world economy, money ALWAYS flows from savers to spenders and there is nothing wrong with the US government borrowing money. That being said, the US does need to keep its government debt in check. Excessive debt has been the downfall of many world powers and the US will be no different. As government debt grows, more money will have to be borrowed to pay off the interest on previous debt. That borrowing incurs more interest, for which yet more money must be borrowed. It becomes an inescapable downward spiral that will, if left unchecked, cause the financial collapse of the government. tl;dr From a macroeconomic standpoint, the thread title is completely wrong. The US government does need to reduce its debt, though.

No, he's merely saying that the prejudice is not directed toward the Chinese race but instead the Nation of China. With rising debt and the lower recognition of human rights, is it not understandable to fear the rise of the Chinese nation? The reason everyone in the commercial was Chinese (racially) is because the Chinese nation is one of the most homogeneous nations in the entire world. If Communist China had substantial diversity and had other politically powerful races within their nation, I'm confident that the commercial would have shown more diversity in the classroom of laughing Chinese Nationals.

to really believe that the rise of china and halt of the dominance of the USA is because of the healthcare bill and the stimulus program ... thats like blaming the water of the fireman is the reason why your house burned down or if you believe what obama is doing is wrong that the last blow of the axe is why the tree is falling ... ignoring all the blows before. and btw. because the usa ows so much money to china ... its in chinas best interests that the usa is doing good... to repay its depth... if the usa would go down ... it would take china with it. Thats the great thing about globalisation .. if one gloablized country gets fucked, it hurts the whole world -> everyone has an interest that their trade partners do ok.

If it comes down to it, the fed can just generate trillions of dollars, and dodge with a new coin (Amero?). The chinese are left w\ nothing. Currencies come and go, what's important is the wealth; as long as there is no war or coercion, tomorrow cannot be worse than today, because no capital has been lost or misappropriated. Also "so now they work for us" What's so bad about working for other people? Do employers worldwide also laugh at their employees? Do employers own their employees? No, it isn't an enslavement relationship today, and it wouldn't be in 30 years if it were to be inverted either. The only enslavement relationship I say, is the one between government and citizen, where a state can build trillions in debt in the name of millions, yet without the explicit permission of any one of those millions. It can devaluate a whole nation's currency and still force everyone to use it, for some disproven mercantilist policy. Only a state can get away with doing this bs. Insane collectivism, that's what's laughable. And the ones laughing aren't the U.S. or chinese people, but the lords above each.

I know American politicians, especially in times of election, like to try to induce fear to the bulk of the population (who are mostly pretty ignorant about real international politics) , But this is really a bridge too far imho, its almost north korean like propaganda!

China dealt with the global financial crisis well by being fiscally conservative AND spending a bunch of stimulus money. They ARE spending themselves out financial trouble. This happens to be a good strategy for China as they don't have a huge budget deficit left by a certain Republican president conservatives pretend never existed.
