By the way, Chinas taxes are slightly lower than the states (about 20%), but they dont have massive healthcare and defence costs to support. USA elects war veterans and lawyers to rule their country. The top 7 people running China consist of 6 engineers and 1 economics PhD ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Politburo_Standing_Committee_of_the_Communist_Party_of_China) People blindly assume China runs a primitive Government system.... because other countries with 'human rights issues' do? China runs one of the most advanced governments in the world, able to enact change much faster than other countries, able to finely regulate their markets based on what makes the country stronger. This is not a country run by investors, individual profiteers and 4-year term objectives. The 'free market' does not call the shots here. China chooses how much profit major markets should provide and how much of it will be regulated or run by massive state owned companies. America, do you realize for every dollar earned by your country, the finance/banking industry cut of that is 21%. They make up only a small percentage of the workers but in this "free market" the value of their services makes up 21% of your economy. Thats their cut for shifting funds between you. I'm afraid between massive defence costs, massive health costs, an aging population, and 'free market' unregulated industries (in particular the banking/finance industry) and of course debt interest, America is about to learn a lesson in Capitalism.

China has an aging population. In about 10-20 years, a typical family in China will have the following structure thanks to its family planning policy: 4 - 2 - 1 That is, for 1 child, s/he has two parents, and 4 grandparents. The strong labour force which China used to boast will shrink dramatically.

They are talking about America failing because of its very real, enormous debt to China. If they then showed a bunch of Nigerians, everyone would be like wtf? The point I was trying to make is that the ad only works because the Chinese are extremely different from Americans. Everything from their government, their family structure, moral values, social organization, everything is markedly different from Americans. Thus, by using exclusively Chinese people speaking in their native tongue and by excluding Americans from the scene, it creates an atmosphere of immediacy and realism of the dominance of China over America. If another country, say the United Kingdom, owned most of our debt, they'd have to go to some extreme lengths to convey the same message (and I mean bringing back the redcoats burning down Washington again).

This is so racist is so many ways: 1st: Showing the Chinese with superiority complex, laughing at Americas failure 2nd: Giving the message that the super-power/empire at current is superior to the other nations and that some how 3rd world countries are inferior 3rd: The assumption that china will a) still be communist and b) Maoist, the posters of Mao on the wall were just the cherry on this racist cake really, basically saying Chinese = communist. Also with the 2nd and 3rd point that implies that the video makers think that its funny how Africa works for America and that they are superior and that you should vote Republican so that we can stay superior ^^ And then the fact that clearly this was a bad university, probably an ex-polytechnic with low grade requirements because the lecturer clearly analyzed the fall of America wrong if he thought it was cased by welfare reform lol.

I did read his post but I still disagree with the idea that I and others can't react to statements like that. You don't need to know a whole lot about history to realise that the idea of singling out arbitrary groups of people is a dangerous path, so it's only natural people react. I wouldn't trust a jew for a second with my economy. Niggers freak me out so I try to avoid them at all cost. I don't feel right sitting next to a muslim on a plane. Americans are scary as shit, it's like they can engage in invasions for almost any reason. etc etc See these are personal statements but you can't call me racist because they are my FEELINGS durr.

Your first two points are utterly invalid. Those feelings are those of disposition, hatred, and unwillingness to trust them based upon their religion or color. The third is a feeling he had because of what some of them did. He first and foremost identified himself as a Muslim so that sort of made Juan nervous. He has a reason to fear and be suspicious. Like if you were a Jew and you had to sit beside a Nazi on a train. Not all Nazis were scumbags (Oskar Schindler, anyone?) but you'd be pretty darn nervous and scared.

I don't want to speculate on the outcome or the consequences of such a thing, I'm just saying that the people in power here would not go down without a (big) fight that would drag out past most of our lifetimes, for sure.

Please it's the exact same thing, only depicting muslims as largely pissed off extremist killers of civilians is more timely than thinking african-americans or whatever it is you call them put you at risk of getting robbed and what not. I thought we already established there's no logical reason to think like that, so "He has a reason to fear and be suspicious." doesn't make any sense. I'm not a native english speaker and I'm very much aware of the fact that muslims aren't a race but I was trying to get a point across and couldn't find the correct term in english. If you are sincere and didn't understand what I was trying to say I'll explain it in pm.

He just felt a natural human reaction; nervousness to things he questions and somewhat fears. That isn't racism. =_=;
