Especially those points beeing made are totally stupid. What made the US strong in the first place over the last century? The Great New Deal was a perfect starting point under famous president Roosevelt - coming from an economic crisis right back to a stable, wealthy nation. What was this Great New Deal? Extreme socialism by todays standards. Maximum taxes raised to 75% temporarily. Minimum wages. Introduction of exchange and bank survey by the state. As a resul the USA was strengthened, had a very very solid middle class and great economy. So, this is where this propaganda is actually right - the biggest issue of the US is to turn away from these things. Minimum wages were reversed, sinking taxes, revising control over capital exchange places and banks. The economic liberalism damaged the USA big times. Social balances and power of the state were sacrificed for economic growth allone. That the republicans are trying to use this for their campaign is nothing but absolutely cynic and stupid as well. It's very sad to see that many voters (that's not exclusive for the USA, it's the same over here in Germany) still believe that economic liberalism including lower taxes was a good concept for the sake of everyone. Most of lower and middle incomes barely profit from tax lowering while the upper incomes do so alot. By the way, I call this propaganda because it is closer to propaganda than to a campaign ad. "Propaganda names a deliberate and systemic attempt of forming points of views, manipulating insights, and control behaviours. Propaganda in it's original sense is solely made for manipulation and securing rule." As I wrote above, this is manipulative as it's simplified and distorted actual facts instead of quoting true facts.

Assuming any race based heuristic automatically implies racism is a very easy way to demonize everything with highly charged words. The concept of racism goes beyond that to a paradigm in which race is the primary quality that a person has, and as such there is a hierarchy of race which justifies systemic racial discrimination.

I somewhat agree with this. It's not racism, but it's either an educated and justified fear, or it's ignorance at work. There's a poster of Mao (ironically, the only people that probably hate Mao more than Americans are the Chinese) on the wall, and it ends with the dude delivering an evil laugh and implying that the Chinese have enslaved the US. If it wasn't such blatant hatemongering propaganda, I'd be pretty offended. i'll admit that it's trying to make people afraid, but not so much of the chinese really. this is obviously an internal debate within the US about our OWN policies being shitty. this has nothing to do with the chinese. they are a reasonable choice to depict as the next superpower and they DO own a shit assload of US debt, so who cares? it's fuckin realistic (not that i think this is an accurate depiction of china 2030) to show china here, so what if they're ballin it up and enslaving the US, good for them. it's because we suck

The had war waged upon them by all the surrounding city-states... reposting this so it's not buried http://scienceblogs.com/dispatches/2010/10/the_non-existent_gop_spending.php Athens waged war against Sparta and eventually lost that war. They abused the power they gained in the Persian wars and tried to take over all of Greece. They went back on their democratic principles by moving towards a more oligarchical form of government. Simply not true. The more imperialistic Athens got the more democratic it got because its empire was built on the sweat of the rowers. It was a polis, a citizen state in which the citizen contributes to the defence of the state in return for legal and political rights. At the start of the Delian League Athens was still very much under the sway of the archons, the poor didn't have access to the courts for example. It was the paradox of Athens that her democracy and cultural rise was built upon imperialism and slavery, the two went hand in hand. With the battle of Marathon the hoplite class were given political powers, it was the victory of the common yeoman soldier and their mobilisation and defence of the state was recognised politically. A decade later when Athens won at Salamis there was the same process for the poorest, the rowers. What you said is simply wrong. The timeline is backwards and it completely misunderstands what Athenian democracy was.

Also, you can see the reason right here in some of these posts, why these hicks are still in the public spotlight in the 21st century. It's the people that scream out 'racist!' to something that doesn't even remotely come close. How is this racist? It just goes to show why America's failing really: ignorance. On the one hand there's hillbillies and on the other, ignorant collage grads of a crumbling education system over-playing liberalism, shouting 'foul' to everything and getting in front of the progress that the true liberal ideals can make.

Obviously it is an absurd viewpoint, but to claim it is racist towards China? I think you're really misusing the word "racist." That title is a bit misleading too. I thought there would be a bunch of statistics and graphs showing projections of China's ownership over U.S. industries.

I thought there would be a bunch of statistics and graphs showing projections of China's ownership over U.S. industries. It indeed is not openly racist but is suited to stir up hatred nonetheless. It obviously shows China as an enemy and makes them appear very decadent and arrogant as they laugh about the US downfall. By the way: CAWG is closely related to many huge industrial companies, especially tobacco. (...)CAGW has accepted donations from Phillip Morris, the Olin Foundation, the Bradley Foundation, Microsoft, Merrill Lynch, and Exxon-Mobil. I am very certain that they closely assist the Republicans as an industrial lobby organisation - as everyone can see it attacks Obama's politics. It even increases my contempt for economic liberalism policy and any kind of right wing party... they don't hesitate risking to stir up hatred between groups of people or using missinformation when it serves their goals...
