A long time ago my mother (who is Korean) showed me some videos of this guy. It's pretty amazing. But you can't be serious when you said that you stopped playing after seeing this kid play. I want YOU to go PICK UP that guitar which you have unrightfully neglected and START PLAYING.

I've been following Sungha for years now. He's neat.
I own a Peavey JF1-Ex and Vox VT-50 and several pedals (boss dd3, boss sd-1...) and used to play in a band.
I neglected my playing for about a year now do to job and SC2 :D

No seriously I played a year and a half and I tried fingerstyle after seeing that Korean kid and failed miserably (with tablatures and all). It is soooo much more difficult than playing normal. Got demoralized to continue playing "the sucky way" and just gradually quit playing altogether. Also had some other priorities, so it's not entirely due to that Korean kid (I'm still listening to some of his stuff on Ipod nowadays).

Why would that make you stop playing 0_0 To me that'd be inspiration; if that kid can be that good, so you can with a little effort, and think of ALL THE GIRLS YOU'LL PULL if you bust out Billie Jean followed by Pirates of the Caribbean.

Does anyone have any experience with Contessa guitars?I've searched the web and spoken to local guitarists but nobody seems to know a thing about them.
I move to Boulder in like 3 weeks and I'm looking to pick up a guitar when I arrive. This definitely caught my eye: http://boulder.craigslist.org/msg/2465316899.html
So, Contessa?

My crappy setup is a Epiphone LP Special 2 with a Vox Pathfinder amp. I'm a lefty so i didn't have much choice from the cheap range, and i love the look of Les Paul models so i went with it. I'm only a noob and its my first guitar so it gets the job done really, but the amp isn't to great for the stuff i like/am learning on(being metal/melodic stuff) the distortion is icky basically.
Only played for about 3-4 months, self taught and think i am doing pretty well, i just really want to brush up on my theory so i actually know what i'm talking about with guitars and music, as i have pretty much just been learning by tabs and don't actually know all that much!
Also been scouting for my second guitar to get in a couple more months when i really feel confident in my playing and stepping up to better quality is really worth it. Unsure what i want to get yet, either a decent Les Paul or an Ibanez probably(budget would probably be up to $1000au)

Anyone looking for budget guitars should check out Agiles. they are extremely superb Korean gibson copies that have excellent quality control and rival real gibsons. definitely leaps and bounds better than epiphones you find in stores. costs range from 200-500 USD. with the $400 AL-3k series being extremely good.

i used to have one, but found myself more suited for a strat. now i just have one of their cheapo SX strats fitted with better pups and personally set up really well. damn i need to get back into playing guitar regularly. still wish i had my agile though. thing was so gorgeous.
oh and I run a fender super champ XD. really good value amp. although i think if i were to buy an amp now it would just be a no frills simple all-tube super small(5W-ish) amp.
oh and in the future when I have more money I think I am going to gift myself a breedlove acoustic. those things sound heavenly

I just got myself a J-custom, never had a better guitar than that! :D

I am pretty good at it now... Ofc not as skilled as the kid, but anyway. It is funny how some thing that may inspire someone can also kill all the impulse in another. I own a Cremona 977. It's price is around 400$ nowadays if I am not mistaken, and it has a very pretty mellow sound, if strings are good enough.

Resent, I'm playing on Epiphone LP Special II as well and looking for a replacement. Has recently bought Marshall MG15FX with a pedal, sounds great, love it! Atm I'm playing (=learning) for myself as a hobby, but might play in a band in a couple of years ^^
Hemula, dammit, when and how did you learn the word 'mellow' in Russia? It's pretty epic

British and american tv shows might be the matter as well. :3 So far the hardest part in language is articles, but I am getting over it, slowly but surely.
I am currently playing drums in a band. I play it simple as fuck but it's drums! DRUMS! :D
I'm thinking about buying an electric guitar, but I am not so sure, I have other needs and I don't really like to work. qq

50th anniversary gibson flying v, is my guitar. With a Fender Deluxe 900 amp. I am a music student in university for classical Double bass so I don't play guitar as much anymore but still a lot of fun. Ive played in a band for 5 years, im thinking of becoming a guitar teacher since ill have a music education but thats just an option. My favorite guitarists are- Teru and Hizaki (Versailles), Syu (Galneryus), buckethead, chris impellitari. Im a big fan of artful guitarists with top teir technique.

Martin D-15 Custom. Solid Sitka top, East Indian Rosewood back. No HPL. No coating. Raw wood. It smells so good

Nice! I'm using a PRS custom 24 black cherry finish with a mesa/boogie mark IV. Used to play metal, but now I play blues. From bad to worse IMO ^^

Yeah, I went to a guitar course for a week this summer, and there was this amazing kid, who had just hit teenage years, and he was absolutely AMAZING. He was a shredder, but he was one who had hit the golden spot between being amazingly fast and still incorporated clear melodies and rythmical ideas in his play, his bends were spot on and the legato was flawless. He was also a student, just like the rest of us. That really inspired me. He was good enough to teach what most of the students would consider far beyond their level, and still he was sitting with the rest of us, learning to solo over key changes smoothly. Don't be turned down. Remember, to play guitar is, in the end, always a learning process. We don't play to master the instrument.
Also, Jack White has no chance in hell of playing Billie Jean like sungha does it. He just isn't good enough. And who is more respected of the two?

I have an Agile AL3100 honey sunburst flame and a Vibro Champ XD! I second the Agile recommendation- it doesn't sound QUITE like a Gibson or Epiphone but they're damn nice guitars. They're like low end Gibson - Epiphone Ultra ish quality but at a fraction of the price.
wish I had a better camera
and the only complaint that I have with my Vibro Champ is that it sounds like crap when I try to mic and record it. Prolly the speaker, sounds farty. I was looking at a Traynor YCV50 blue a while ago but on the other hand, I mostly just play in my bedroom :/
