I've only been playing for a year or so. Do you do play professionally? I used to but as I got older I needed more money and something more stable. I also started to feel like I loved music and guitar to much to make it my job. Now I make a pretty good living owning my own photography studio. Most income comes from weddings as I shoot about 50 a year. I still play guitar everyday, weather I'm home or at the studio one is within arms reach hah.

I never plan to make a living from playing the guitar, however I do want to play for crowds. Whether that be for free, at a nursing home, on the street, or in a big stadium. I really want that experience. My ultimate goal would be the centerpiece playing Concerto de Aranjuez with an orchestra. That's my longest term goal though lol. Concerto de Aranjuez (Adagio). For those that never have, give it a listen!

We could use some diversity in this thread I own a Cordoba c7 Cedar. + Show Spoiler + When I first saw it I thought it was the most beautiful guitar I had ever seen and I knew I had to own it. The gold on black tuning machines with trees with falling branches and leaves design in the background is exquisite. I also love how the Cedar top and Rosewood back and sides work so well together. Not to mention it sounds great too! I play mostly Classical music and I'm trying to get better at sight reading sheet music. My favorite guitarist is Eduardo Fernandez. I saw him perform live at the Sundin Hall here in Minnesota and it was simply amazing. Being able to play those technically demanding pieces that Eduardo performed will take me years to attain, but it's one of my goals! I prefer cedar/rosewood for classical guitars as well. That's a great guitar, especially compared to most in its price range. On another note I got to play a custom made Greg Smallman cedar top once. It felt like I was in a dream. edit: I own a Rodriguez cedar/rosewood. For the life of me I cannot remember what model it is. I'll look that up if I remember to (might be model E?).

I built a four string bass and it was a hoot. Disclaimer: my brother is a carpenter, so I had access to a proper workshop to do everything I wanted, and my then girlfriend was an architect with a little art studio who did the paintjob, so I had an easier time than perhaps most people. The most difficult part was the fretboard. I had to put in the metal fret things myself, and then file the edges. Electronics are really easy and straight forward. The setup is a pain. For the life of me, I couldn't keep the bass in tune, but after a week or two, I suppose after the bass had "settled", if that's a thing, it sounded great. Never got the action quite as low as I wanted, but the bass was a beauty!
