We are extremely close to shutting down this thread for the same reasons the PUA thread was shut down. While some of the time this thread contains actual discussion with people asking help and people giving nice advice, it often gets derailed by rubbish that should not be here. The moderation team will be trying to steer this thread in a different direction from now on.
Posts of the following nature are banned: 1) ANYTHING regarding PUA. If your post contains the words 'alpha' or 'beta' or anything of that sort please don't hit post. 2) Stupid brags. You can tell us about your nice success stories with someone, but posts such as 'lol 50 Tinder matches' are a no-no. 3) Any misogynistic bullshit, including discussion about rape culture. 4) One night stands and random sex. These are basically brags that invariably devolve into gender role discussions and misogynistic comments.
Last chance, guys. This thread is for dating advice and sharing dating stories. While gender roles, sociocultural norms, and our biological imperative to reproduce are all tangentially related, these subjects are not the main purpose of the thread. Please AVOID these discussions. If you want to discuss them at length, go to PMs or start a blog. If you disagree with someone's ideologies, state that you disagree with them and why they won't work from a dating standpoint and move on. We will not tolerate any lengthy derailments that aren't directly about dating. |

Try talking to her. If you're incompatible it'll ruin your chances. If not maybe you're wrong about the unrequited part or she'll give you a chance with a date. Have a date in mind.

Well I chat with her quite often, the problem is I can't discover whether she likes me. I asked her out before, it is almost a year ago, and she refused. I have a feeling that now she likes me more but I don't know.

Best way to find out if someone likes you? ... Ask.

Got tinder about a week ago. A girl messaged me and we've been talking quite a bit, went for a walk today. She was really talkative which is good since I'm kind of bad at small talk unless I know the people I'm talking too. I thought I did alright but I wasn't really sure she liked me. Got home and after an hour she messaged me, so I guess it went good!
I'm super stoked. First time someone seems to like me!

Well I don't think that is the best way since if she will not she'll lie to be nice. I never really liked that I like brutal honesty but many people are used to be polite even if this means liyng.

Nobody is going to tell you they like you/will date you even to be polite though. People like confidence, worth just going for it most of the time.

To update you guys on my dates (since you've been so helpful).
The one I was looking forward to most went well. She laughed at all my jokes, kept complimenting me and we even got so into our conversation that she didn't realise she was late for work. We really hit it off, she seems to think so as well. We're going on a second date next week. She has a friend from abroad over, but she told me that she's going to ship him off to a museum and go out with me.
At the moment we're keeping up the messaging we started on OkCupid via text. I know you guys are of the opinion that you should only use the phone to set up dates, but she initiates mostly and I'm having fun doing it. Mostly fun (sexual) banter mixed with more serious conversations about what we want out of life. I'm done not doing things because 'what might other people think'. I'll just do what I enjoy and see if I attract people who like that about me.

Well I think she does like me in some way. After all we know each other 4 years and we chat. Why should she chat with someone she dislikes. I mean that she propably don't like me in the way of going out with me. But she would tell me that she likes me if I would ask but that could mean anything. Maybe she likes me like a friend or more but asking if she likes me don't tell me how much.

I see absolutely no reason why you can't give each other a call or text from time to time! It shouldn't take the place of going out and spending time together, but it's often nice to have casual conversation during the "downtime" in between official dates and outings.

Is the travel bug a thing that affects mostly girls or do a lot of guys like to travel in their early 20s as well?
Maybe a poll would be best.
Poll: Are you a male who likes to travel?Yes (15) 58% No (9) 35% Maybe once every few years or to visit family/friends (2) 8% 26 total votes Your vote: Are you a male who likes to travel? (Vote): Yes (Vote): No (Vote): Maybe once every few years or to visit family/friends
|
I'm surprised when people don't want to travel. Everyone says they want to, but most people rarely go too far from home.
|
Who doesn't want to travel? I'd assume most of us just can't afford to leave home and wander the world seeing all the sights. Shits expensive.

For me it's more that I'd want to program because I feel I can profit most greatly from it. I don't feel the need to travel. Though of course anyone would want to live carefree, eat great food, dance, and stuff if they had the money and freedom.

Protip: don't refer to them as "exotic"

Went on another date with her yesterday. Well we went to her place to watch movies, and movies were watched... I'm so horrible at making moves, so much that I didn't even make one. However neither did she, I only tried to move a bit closer to her. However she still kept some distance. As soon as I got back home she sent a text asking if I got back home safely.
I literally have no idea what she actually wants. I'm fairly certain she doesn't just want to fuck, then she probably would have made a move I would assume. However I'm not certain she wants a relationship either since she has not given me any sort of compliment other than the fact that she seems to like to talk to me. I myself am not feeling super strongly for her, she is fun to talk to and all but I don't feel like we have "clicked".
I'm feeling like I maybe should "friendzone" her (fucking unbelievable that I would be doing that to a girl) or at least talk to her about how she feels. Talking to another girl on tinder, don't really know much about her yet I asked her if she wanted to be fuck buddies (full yolo after last nights date) and she said she wasn't interested in that however hinted that she wanted something more serious. Might take her up on that.
What do you guys think I should do?
|
What the fuck is your tinder experience?
You fucked up not making a move. You didn't click because she is thinking to herself, "what the fuck is this guy doing? why is he not making a move?" If it's not already clear by now, anytime a girl asks you to her place, she wants you to make a move.
|
My tinder experience is the experience I've gotten with this girl, and my normal dating experience is close to zero .
Fucked up and fucked up. Well the way it went down was that I asked if she wanted to watch a movie, and then I asked if she wanted to be at my or her place. Maybe I'm weird but I don't like being the one who has to make every single move. I removed a bunch of stuff that was between us when we were in her bed watching the movie and moved closer to her, there could have been no mistake that I wanted to get closer yet she stayed a few inches away.
I'm thinking I'll just wait it out and see if she asks me out or something. However I'm still not sure I want to date her anymore, god damn my "standards" are high in regards to looks.
