not kidding, salad.i cannot look at it,touch it,i usually leave the table when salad is brought in,order every meal without salad in the restaurant.i used to cover my glass with my napkin before leaving the table when salad was about to be stirred up,as to not get some salad sauce in my drink. For the past three four years im able to eat next to salad, but trust me i wont enjoy it. when i was a kid,i had to punch two of my friends for running after me with a leaf of salad.i was just scared shitless, stopped and punched them. working on it,its less and less an issue as time goes by.ill probably end up not eating/touching it,but hopefully no problems anymore when im around it. I think you mean this: http://www.ingredienten.nl/images/ingredienten/sla-large.jpgAs for me, when I'm in the shower and washing my hair with shampoo. I don't want to keep my eyes closed for too long because I'm anxious about some creep suddenly appearing right next to me or something. Basically the lack of vision scares me. But I think alot more people have this, not that I know of though.
I guess this isn't really a fear, but you reminded me of a weird thing I think of sometimes when I'm in the shower:
I think that the water shooting out of the shower head will turn into razer blades and then they'll just fly right through my face. =/
I don't duck or anything while I'm showering (lol), it's just something that pops into my head from time to time.
If any of you have seen the show Supernatural, I suspect I may have gotten this idea from there.

I have this when I am sleeping, I always have to face the door with my face otherwise I get the exact same thing as you do haha.

I'm not sure if this is considered as phobia or just being paranoid but I feel uncomfortable when I blast music when someone is around. I have been shouted at and diciplined by my dad when I don't answer him from like 10 miles away in the house. He would shout my name all the way in his room and expect me to hear it in my room when I am litsening to music. So he would sometimes get mad at me and shout at me.
I can hear loud music on my headphones when im travelling since I know nobody will talk to me, but when I am in an environment where I know some people "could" possibly talk to me, I get uncomfortable and always have to lower the volume incase someone etries to talk to me.

I dunno if its unusual but eating food at other peoples places or food that someone bought, like if someone were to bring in a cake to school, I wont eat it ;(
Strangely I don't mind eating at restaurants...

For those who may be (rightfully) confused I'm referring to when you turn a tap on and then turn it down and you end up with a perfect line of water that any lower would be drips but it's not quite and it's this perfect thing line that doesn't change shape or move at all except for to fall down. I can't stand it, I do everything in my power to avoid it happening because once it's started I get physically sick trying to reach to turn it off and I literally can't stand it touching me.
As a phobia, I literally can't imagine anything more stupid, and I'm not even afraid of water more generally in any way! I used to be an avid swimmer even, but these perfect lines of water just make me rediculously uneasy and the fact I can't seem to get over it is so annoying. Oh I had a little chat with you before! Also I found a picture depicting your phobia.. so well and it slightly bothered me a little bit because I can understand why you have this fear hahaha~I really want to show you this picture because I'd know it'd freak you out lol. Also at OP your thing with bodies of water~ I have some sort of weird thing with big puddles of water when it rains.
Something about looking at the reflection of the sky from the puddle makes me think I'll either fall into the puddle and I'd be in the mindset of falling into the reflection and it'll play on my fears of heights. It's REALLY weird right? XD

I have a fear of biting down on aluminum, i don't know why but if i imagine myself biting down on aluminum it sends shivers down my spine, like right now.
At least i can control this fear by not biting down on aluminum

"For instance, occasionally, when I am running on the side walk late at night, I am overwhelmed by this haunting unease that I am about to trip over a wire. It feels like the next step I take will catch on a string I will fall. Makes me look weird as hell when I run at night, too."
Wow, I thought I was alone with this. Thanks for letting me know, now I don't feel as stupid!
Oh and I've been diagnosed with social phobia I didn't realize I had it until I was diagnosed, I just thought everyone felt like I did

Not really a phobia I think, but I feel quite uneasy inside surgery rooms with all those big machines and lights D:

I used to be very afraid of moths. Not so much anymore.

I have a strong distaste for certain foods to the extent that I don't want to smell or touch them. That's about it.

He, not too unusual i think.. i don't eat food of "unkown source" either. Restaurants are different though. You'd assume there's nothing wrong with their food since it's the whole point of their business.
I know a guy who has a phobia "biting" on forks. Thats kinda strange.. :D

itsdaniel is totally disgusted and afraid of polystyrene. it gets to a point where I need others to open boxes for me or get rid of that crap. The sound of it gives me the creeps & I can't stand the feeling of it on my skin.

Animatronics. Or robots that are supposed to look like people. SIPabwlfjkasdbuifhlkaj dunno what it is but it *terrifies* me.
Like those japanese robot-receptionists at hotels. I wouldn't be able to come within 300 feet of one of those.
edit: rides or shows at theme parks with fake/robot animals or people. Cannot do those at allllll

You seem extremely self conscious of this phobia despite it not appearing to be damaging your ability function.
Have you considered talking to a Psychologist about it? Really any fear/issue/stressor/w-e that causes a patient distress is worth seeing a PhD over.
But you really shouldn't be beating yourself up over it, if anything that amplifies the phobia. People have been phobic of way stranger things I promise you my friend. Just talk to someone to get to the root of it and work on resolving it; there are plenty of phobia treatments out there, it really shouldn't be too difficult to resolve your phobia.
I myself don't have any phobic tendencies, but I do get shy kidneys from time to time. Usually what happens is I think for a split second- is my dick gonna get shy- and then boom, gotta use a stall like a lady. Strangely if I mentally curse out all the other people in the bathroom it seems to diminish my shyness. I consider myself lucky that it only effects my maybe 10-15% of my public urination attempts in crowded bathrooms; there are some people who can only relieve themselves in their house hold.

Clowns. Or basically anything dressed up as a character. Not sure if its a phobia, but I am just not comfortable around them. I could be laughing one second, and then standing awkwardly the next.
|
I'm terrified of whales, the ocean, deep space, and colossal space whales. I also can't stand to touch clothes after my hands have been wet. It's like scratching my nails on a chalk bored. If I do I have to bite my fingers to counter act the feeling of unease. Despite my fear of space, I want to live on the moon.

I ve phobia of clown, mice, rat, insect animal like ant and spider. Also I fear bats and I wake up at nights screaming. Also I sweat a lot at nights, so I sometimes put towels in my bed to prevent everything from getting soak.
I enjoy dreams also when they are scary.

Anatidaephobia — the fear that somewhere, somehow, a duck is watching you...
Best unusual phobia ever.
