If at any point in doing this I press too hard, I have to press hard 3 times, BUT in the same sequence. SSSH -> HHHS in order to keep my mind balanced. This not only affects my press things, but also how I walk, breathe, grab things, etc. So hard to break this... I have the same except with my mouse cursor on the screen. If I move the cursor over the top right corner for instance, I get this need to move it through the top left corner aswell, somehow it bothers me if it isn't balanced. Usually I do it wrong though and I just end up making circles over the screen with my mouse the whole time TT.

When I was a kid I was afraid of the pool cleaner but that stopped when I googled what it actually does.

Now i have a similar phobia. When i walk on the road or even on the pavement and there is nobody around my mind thinks that the car coming from behind is going to hit me. Every fucking time i have to look back and check to be sure. It's annoying but i can't do anything about it. If others are around it doesn't happen,i can't explain why. Shit I have that car thing as well. On late night runs, every time I hear a car coming up behind me I'd be thinking "Don't turn around, nobody wants to hit you with their car" but then I'd turn around just to check anyway

I also hate the possibility of soap not being washed off something. I make sure to rinse dishes really well when I do dishes and rinse my self thoroughly in the shower. (goes with the above) I used to hate the sound of people brushing their teeth, especially if they talk while brushing. Made me want to throw up, but I'm much better about it now.

I think this stemmed from when I was a child, a long time ago, while living in Africa; we went to ride horses, and my dad started galloping. My horse, who I was "acquainted" with and had ridden before, decided to try and race him and began galloping as fast as he could. I remember my helmet flying off, and the horse not stopping even though I was screaming the French word for stop ("ah-ret" iirc, the horses were trained by a French man). It didn't stop, and only stopped when we reached a really steep hill. I was still scared as shit by then, and I've always hated/ feared horses since that incident.

It's as if I had a very strong survival instinct and always felt the need to keep anything away from my blood and heart.

I have been shouted at and diciplined by my dad when I don't answer him from like 10 miles away in the house. He would shout my name all the way in his room and expect me to hear it in my room when I am litsening to music. So he would sometimes get mad at me and shout at me. I can hear loud music on my headphones when im travelling since I know nobody will talk to me, but when I am in an environment where I know some people "could" possibly talk to me, I get uncomfortable and always have to lower the volume incase someone etries to talk to me. EXACTLY the same for me, even if you know for 99 % the persons wont talk to you, the possibility is enough lol

And this isn't a phobia, but more of a revulsion - chocolate cake. It's very unfortunate. When I was teeny tiny, my mom made a rather terrible tasting bitter chocolate cake with nuts in it that I choked down two pieces of before coming down with stomach flu that night, whereby I became unable to hold down anything, even water. It took me years to just be able to eat brownies again, and to this day...-counts-...wow, thirteen years later I STILL cannot eat chocolate cake or my body will reflexively reject it. It's called the Garcia effect...
