I never said CoD was bad. I was implying that these girls pulled a random popular game they've seen on TV out of a hat.. very few of them actually sound like they play games.
Anyway its a stupid competition, I hope hotbid winning shows them that.

Perhaps this is the one and only time macro software might be allowed. So we don't forget to vote repeatedly.

I'm pretty sure the whole E-sports SC2 union can win this ezpz if this competition was relevant.

Voting for Hot_Bid, but if TradeChat does win at least she actually plays video games a lot, and not just a console game.
Would like to see Dodger in on the voting too, she is definitely a huge gamer and quite pretty as well

Voted Hot_Bid. Just sign up, use a spam email (or make something up...) you don't even need to check the email.

Their profiles might as well say, "I am aware of CoD and held a controller during a photo shoot when it was running in the background". My girlfriend hates this trend, as a girl who likes games and plays them for real. It is so pandering.
Hot Bid should get as many votes as possible. Get Totalbiscuit on this, he has way to many YouTubes subscribers that can bolster the ranks. Even if he places in the top 10, it would still be amazing.

I came here expecting pictures. -_-

Bearing in mind that you can vote for multiple people (repeatedly), keep an eye out for other actual SC2 players. For example, who is this LollyCal person? (Probably not competitive... but says she's been streaming since sometime around Beta?)

TradeChat doesn't have the Maxim girl look. It doesn't matter how many votes she gets. If the SC2 community wants a chance to be represented, then make sure Anna gets enough votes to get noticed and she'll have a chance to make it to the next round.
My guess is that they're going to look through the girls with the highest votes while eliminating some based on looks. Then three will be chosen based on personality and gaming resume.

Are they really that serious about it? I still think Hot_Bid's our man for this.

7. SELECTION OF SEMI-FINALISTS, FINALISTS, AND GRAND PRIZE WINNER: The Contest has three phases: (1) the Entry Phase during which Entries are received and public voting will select "Semi-Finalists" (as defined below), (2) a Finals Phase during which judges will select and designate "Finalists" (as defined below), and (3) a Grand Prize Phase during which public voting combined with editorial judging which will determine the Grand Prize Winner (as defined below) who will also be named the "2012 Maxim Gamer Girl".
At best he can only get to semi-finalist, I'm sure they'd kick him out there

Tyler has a point. Tolling the event is fun, but people should vote for Anna too. She is clearly invested in the community and it only helps SC2 and gamers to have a media professional win the event, rather than some of the other entries.

i think theres no doubt if people actually want to win you have to vote for anna, but i didnt realise anyone actually cared about that. i dont know, i guess it would be cool to see her on the front of maxim but then look at the kelly milkis interview for FHM a few months back. that didnt do anything for esports of even the community. either they asked bad questions or she gaves crappy answers but it didnt help esports at all and so for that reason i dont see any gamer girl competition actually being based on being a gamer who is a girl. the main part of the prize is the possibility of being a booth babe, good on a resume of a small time model but again, nothing that promotes gaming to girls, so why are we taking this seriously?
vote hotbid, vote esports.

she wouldnt accept the prize anyway, she actually has better things to do than be a booth babe, so yeee... kinda a waste. maybe she would do a maxim shoot, but idk if they would make her get her boobs out? ;/

Hot Bid, I don't use the word "hero" very often, but you are the greatest hero in American history.
If you guys haven't seen his profile yet, his blog post is priceless:
I break into Maxim at midnight. Do I go for the naked photos of Jennifer Lawrence? No - I go for girl gamer contest votes. They are priceless.
As I rig the computers to give me a win, a voter catches me. You are this voter. You tell me to stop, it's your contest. You are Maximus Im, the Korean founder of Maxim. I say no. We make love all night and repeatedly vote for me. In the morning the cops come, and I escape in one of their uniforms. I tell you to meet me in France, but I go to China. I don't trust you yet.
30 years later I get a postcard from you: I have a son, and he just won the GSL, and he is the President of the United States. This is where the story gets interesting. I tell you to meet me on Battle.net. You go, but I am not there. I have you blocked. You are heartbroken. But you check my profile and I made it into Grand Master on NA Server, which is like ~gold on Korea. Win.
EDIT:
Of course, as always, NonY has a point.

Hilarity must be put aside for the greater good.

It would probably just be a shoot with models in bikinis and Hot_Bid photo-bombing every shot.

The best way to represent Liquid and esports in general here is to make a troll statement backed by enough people that it actually gets noticed.
Also wouldn't mind a spread with Hot_Bid bewbs ofc.

Um...what are you talking about. I don't think a third party entered her and she competed for Miss America (which lead to JP and Kennigit watching Miss America, which was funny as hell). I think you miss the point of having exposure and showing that the SC2 community pulls behind people who invest in it. If you think it is a waste of time, that is great. She clearly does not, because she entered.
