If you're drinking simply to get wasted, there are plenty of of cheaper alternatives. Believe or not, people actually spend decent to outrageous prices on booze because enjoying the taste of a spirit is what counts. Don't get me wrong, I'm not judging if getting wasted is what one wants to do, I'm just simply saying that there are much better cost-effective and better tasting alternatives to drinking a bad spirit. Almost as important as taste, quality spirits are much less likely to make you sick. Cheap tequila in particular is infamous for making people sick and causing major hangovers. Because the flavor is so unique and the smell is so strong, it's likely to stay with you for a long time. After a couple bad nights with cheap tequilla, you might not even want to be near it anymore. Please don't say anything that stupid again... Quality of alcohol and hangover has nothing to do with eachother, only alcohol percentage. Not sure you even know what Hangover is, so let me put it simple: In reality there is nothing in the world called hangover, because actually you get dehydrated. on average, if you drink 1 liter of beer(which is ~5 %) 1,3 litres of liquid will come out - as everyone know, when you drink you will pee quite a lot. So there you go, if you knew about what hangover really is, I hope you wouldn't have come up with such a stupid comment. Dont lash out of someone if you dont know how it works. Quality alcohol is less likely to make you sick due to the reasons that they contain less bad stuff. When talking about tequila (is slightly different in production method)thou, its important to distinguish what quality he means. Some tequila of good quality are tripledistilled 3 times, witch means they are as pure as it goes when it comes to tequila. However, some quality brands are not and that means they are as bad for you as cheaper brands. However, as a general rule of thumb, the better the beverage the better the rawmaterial. (For example, 100% agave is better then 51% agave and "cheapest neutral spirit you can find".) And alochol percentage is not as important compared to what kind of alchol it is. And finally, yes there are something called hungover, it is a legit word, used to describe the symptoms you write. Dont call other people's comment stupid. And if you do, make sure your corrections are flawless.

Had a bottle or two of Chinaco Anejo that went down smoothly as well. Overall though, I stick to silver for the cleaner agave flavor. For smoke and wood, given the choice I'd go for whisky these days.

The Gran Centenario Anejo is quite good, and you can usually find it pretty cheap ($40 or so, depending on the market). When I'm in a pub, they don't usually have the Gran Centenario, so my fallback is usually Cazadores. Most American pubs will carry it.

Tried some straight over ice with my oldest friend and we both agreed that while it was still most definitely tequila, it was incredibly smooth. Highly recommended to anyone here. When it comes to a mixing tequila though I usually head for my bottle of Lun Azul.

This seems to be the only decent one I can get locally: Is it worth a shot? Reviews seem to be quite ok. Price seems reasonable (< 25€). So far only got Sauza Hornitos for mixing. What else are the usual quality/price recommendations in the 20-40€ range? Kinda experienced with whisky, a little rum experience. Drinking good spirits pure and at room temperature out of Glencairn glasses usually.
