Isn't he still some consultant or some garbage? Yeah looked it up Lucas isn't fully cut out he's the "creative consultant". Not looking good at all... Also didnt know that Disney thinks that Star Wars has TV potential aswell... Way to completely murder and franchise after you've kicked it to the ground and stomped on it multiple times already....

Han Solo is what made Star Wars entertaining to watch. Sadly, he can't be replaced.

I've been curious as to why there are so many outraged people saying "oh no, the sky is falling". The same with the prequel trilogy. You can simply not watch them, that doesn't mean outside the internet their aren't people who enjoyed the three movies if not simply because it was a form of lore. Obviously it had it's weaknesses but it's a movie, that's it and if you loved the original more power to you but there's no reason to shit across the board and call it criticism when you're going to shit on everything that might come out.
I for one am extremely excited another trilogy will exist, extremely excited.

There's also The Star Wars Holiday Special.

Honestly, Disney won't hurt the franchise more than Lucas did. I mean, they made cool shit like Wall-E, which was like better than last 3 StarWars episodes combined.
I hope we'll all get pleasantly surprised

Star Wars Episode VII: The Return of Jar-Jar Binks Strikes Back ...please no, Disney

I hope we'll all get pleasantly surprised (I know that's technically them but) Wall-E was Pixar.
On topic: Gonna watch anyway.

Not happy with leia being a disney princess sorry. starwars, my childhood love has been only going down down down

Well disney is a huge company and it's not like they wont have the budget to do this sort of thing. I think it will simply come down to how much money they'll spend on this. If they invest big time and hire the best writers/actors/directors this could be a good thing. If they bought it simply to make a movie as cheaply as possible so they could profit off the star wars name, (most buyouts are like this) then we're in trouble. IMHO it's a coin flip at this point.
........dont bet against the eagle. . . .

If they are smart and can get timothy zahn on board for it, they could make a film of his sequels to the original movies. it woupld be a worthy continuation in my opinion. of course you can still botch any movie badly, but there would be a chance. the actors would be a huge problem though...
in any case, i dont think it can get much worse then episodes I trough III. and on the upside, disney have shown that they are able to make somthing beyhond the scope of a child movie with things like pirates of the carribean imo. so not all is lost.

I really don't see a problem with this. Starwars died for me after watching the new ones made.
I think it will be funny to see what Disney produces xD

- Get knights of the old republic storyline.
- Turn it into a film.
- Profit.

I completely agree. Basically it can't get any worse. Anything would be an improvement . I have faith that Disney will actually try to make the movie good...even though they mostly make movies for kids, which was what Star Wars 1,2, and 3 were for. sigh

Disney actually knows how a story plot works, so we're already improving.

Revan is actually kinda meh for the Expanded Universe.
The Thrawn trilogy was much more fascinating to read than KotOR was to play.
