Wait.... I just had a crazy idea. They could do the first star wars books ever written, The Han Solo Adventures. Did anyone else ever enjoy those? + Show Spoiler +It's a trilogy of books from 1979-80 set before SW following Han's smuggling days as he frees friends being kidnapped to an frightning secret interstellar prison, goes after a bunch of slavers who set him up, and tracks down a legendary treasure, and faces off with a legendary gunman out to duel him(I think he's only in 2 of the books). Maybe not for the trilogy they're planning. Maybe as just an animated thing they do later. It could turn out pretty good, even if it were aimed at children. At least the droids in that series are actually contribute to the plots too.

Ha, his #2 point is kind of fail if not for the very realistic #1 point: we love terrible things so we can make fun of them (his #2 point was that it's Star Wars, we want it/will like it).

What..? #2 is "There's a chance you'll actually like it, and that would be great" And #1 is "If it turns out it's terrible and you don't like it, at least we can make fun of it"
The point is, either way, we win.

I fucking hated Little Miss Sunshine with a passion. Not a fan of the writer choice.

Because the two movies are incredibly similar...

Don't forget guys, Disney didn't just buy Lucas Films so they can make a 7th movie. There's a large amount of star wars/Disney merchandise being sold in Disney parks and stores around the world. With this latest purchase, they own the rights and likely no longer have to pay royalties on them.
Not to mention Lucas Films = Indiana Jones. Multiple rides/attractions at both DisneyLand and DisneyWorld for Star Wars and Indiana Jones... This partnership has been solid for at LEAST a decade.... This purchase was a long time coming, but it makes perfect sense.
I have every reason to believe Disney is going to continue to do good things with the franchises it purchases. Look at Pixar, it's been Disney owned for a while now and still churning out amazing movies.
I'm not a star wars fanboy, I like the movies, but that's about it.
I'm 100% a Disney fanboy.

Someone who doesn't like Toy Story 3? BLASPHEMER!!!
2 is the weakest, but still great. If you didn't get a little choked up at the end of 3, you're not human imo.

^^^^ D':
I'm glad he's writing the script. It will definitely be farrr better than anything Lucas could have come up with. "You can't win Anakin, I've got the high ground!"

I am happy as long as George Lucas stays the FUCK away.

He has apparently been working on this with Lucasfilm for months. This gives me hope that Lucas has had major story input.
Let's not kid ourselves, Lucas may not be the best script writer but his ability to craft a story is legendary. With Lucas at least co-writing the story and an Oscar level screenwriter like Arndt, I'm actually pumped for this movie.

I never said Lucas made bad stories. The original trilogy is really great because of the story. It's just Lucas can't write a SCRIPT to save his life. Thus with Arndt writing the script, I'm really excited.

I believe that his failure to direct actors is what causes his screenwriting to seem so awful. But to be completely honest, I think a good actor can sell any line. A New Hope had really incredible actors with a mediocre script, and boy they sold those lines. "But I was heading into Toshi station to pick up some power converters!" Few actors today could sell that line (or anything Obi-Wan says) without a good director.
