That means six "Star Wars" movies between 2015 and 2020. That's a lot of lightsabers.
I have a very bad feeling about that, but who knows?
I'm having a panic attack. Why can't we just finish the movie franchise PROPERLY, then use the material Dark Horse has published to start a TV series or some thing. Does EVERYTHING have to be run into the ground now?

I'm hopeful they'll follow the successful model they've been using the last few years for the Avengers universe (Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Avengers, ect).
But you never know, the Avenger's stuff has been a lot and been going on for a few years; who knows if people will still have the appetite for big grand franchises.
Edit: Don't forget that Disney owns Marvel Studios, which is why I'm comparing to Avengers.
have a feeling this movie will be mediocre, and will feel a little different than the star war movies we know and love. I think this is the end of the line for me and star wars. although I fully expect that this movie will be better than the joke of a prequel trilogy, I am also just as certain that I will never recapture the magic that i felt viewing 'empire' for the first time. I'll watch this star wars movie but after that imma call it a day.

So, you talk about running the franchise into the ground, but then view the Dark Horse stuff favorably?
Just saw this myself, so fucking great haha. I love Patton, and as these movies eventually come out he is going to have such great material for years and years.
Either they will completely lock Lucas out of the process, or the movies will suck, horribly.
Bringing Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher back? Yeah... they're gonna suck.
They should just redo the prequels tbh. Get rid of all the bullshit like:
Anakin being some prophesied chosen one, medicloreans, the Jedi being a goddamn gumba hit-squad, the Emperor being George W. Bush, the Sith being right if you really think about it, all the economic knowledge of a freshman in high school, Qui Gon Jin existing, Obi Wan being an idiot, Anakin ever being a "great guy", Padme being Natalie Portman, Leia being an idiot and thinking Luke is referring to her adopted mom, Yoda even being in the damn series except maybe as a side character who is on Degoba, not on the goddamn council, and NOT a lightsaber master, the Emperor ever touching a lightsaber except in disgust at it's crudity, baby Greedo, Jar-Jar Binks, R2-D2 and C3PO being anywhere near the series except maybe as a small cameo, Anakin being a bitch, the Jedi being some huge group that includes stealing babies from their parents, children being Jedi, there being more than like... thirty Jedi in the whole fucking galaxy, technology somehow being better, a happy, lightheaded tone (4,5,6 are the redemption tale, 1,2,3 are a fallen hero tale, they should be darker), and anything else I may have missed. Oh yeah, no Jew-Fly or any other heavy-handed racism.
But unfortunately, if they ommitted all that bullshit, then we might end up with a good prequel story. God forbid that!
Well... I hear ya but I really wouldn't want the prequels redone. If watched in the Machete order they are okay and I don't want rehashed SW would suck really bad. Also they will have to redo the Harry Potter movies and we could do a feedback loop of remakes which would lead to destroying Hollywood forever! So yeah. heh.

Childen being jedi annoys you ? It's pretty damn clear they were always trained since they were children in the lore. How do you find that "bullshit" ? Not to speak about the heavy handed racism which i am just astonished. Or reasons like Padme being Natalie Portman. Yoda to Dagobah ? :O
I mean, i agree with some, but most of you are talking about is either the writing was bad (and to be honest, re-making them, is not fucking worth it), the acting was bad, the specific lore is bad or you just hating on characters. Why not just, scrap the idea and move forward towards something new ?
The basis is fine.. they basically dump most of that midiclorean, rigid jedi code, etc. stuff when Luke reforms the Order as he bases it a lot more on realism (although they still tend to serve as glorified police). Instead of wasting movies reinventing the wheel it would be a lot cooler to go forward and bring Thrawn series to the big screen or go back even further with more Old Republic Stuff pre-Anakin storyline (something similar to Knights of the Old Republic).
I wouldd love to have a movie that doesnt portray sith and yedi so black and white. They could have done that really well in the prequels but they fucked it up with anakin acting like a spoiled child instead of going for an understandable save the people you love or behave according to some bullshit jedi code. And no midicloreans.
On April 19 2013 04:38 sc2superfan101 wrote: But if they keep up with that story being the basis... than everything else will also suck. One cannot build a sturdy house on a bad foundation.
But of course, the pre-cursor to midi-chlorians comes from the Jedi Academy books, which quite a few people seem to love. It happens in the original trilogy when Luke finds that Jedi scanner that shows your "force potential".
The temptation to quantify what the force is and how powerful people are in it seems irresistable...
So I mean, it's not like the prequels are the only source of stupid lore and you can still build a good story away from that.
