This is probably why there's some from the GOP claiming that these students have "sophisticated left-wing advisors" "exploiting the children" to "advance their agenda."
Or at least that's how CNN reported it when I saw it at the gym this morning, despite my best efforts to stay away from the American media during my quality time. I feel like I was extremely aware of the world around me at this age. It's like people forget their own mental capabilities when they were younger. Someone needs to get with these kids and also tell them they need to start voting the instant they turn 18 in every local election. Find a candidate and own them. The turnout rate for 18-28 is like 20%, mostly because candidates don’t represent what the young adults want. But candidates can also safely ignore them because they don’t vote. Bush-era youngins contributed a lot to Obama's victory. We will likely see today's high school students do the same to Booker or whoever ends up being "not trump". They need to show up every 2 years. Not every four. If they got that voting number up to like 40%-45%, they would be a force that couldn’t be ignored in any purple state. 2 years into a presidency is enough time for kids to be like "wait, he still bombs people? REVOLUTION!" and the whole thing goes to shit. That one is hard. It is a tough sell to say participate, but keep your expectations reasonable. Voting is like long term investing. The change you want to happen is running against all the other people who have been voting for decades. And also you lose a lot. Yeah, people who only vote while pounding their chests is a big problem. Those people do not deserve democracy. They had the luck to be born when the world wasn't garbage and they take it all for granted. The whole point of democracy is everyone deserves the right to vote and collectively we will own our mistakes and successes. The right to vote isn’t earned or gifted, it in inherent to our humanity. Sometimes I wish that voters would be required to pass a super simple 10-20 question quiz on the most basic and innocuous and unbiased questions about our government and candidates before being able to actually cast their vote. It is a nice thought in theory. In practice, we have proven that we cannot be trusted with even a simple requirement like that.

Some of the details the DLCC 'mysteriously' left out.
LOUISVILLE — Linda Belcher won the special election in Bullitt County on Tuesday night to replace Rep. Dan Johnson, who died by suicide amid sexual abuse allegations.
Kentucky State Representative Dan Johnson was found with a single gunshot wound to the head days after he was accused of molesting a teenage member his congregation.
Rebecca Johnson also denied the allegations against her husband in the Kentucky Center for Investigative Reporting expose.
(Linda Belcher) Like her opponent, she entered politics after her husband died. Democratic Rep. Larry Belcher was killed in a car crash in October 2008, and his wife replaced him on the ballot. She served in the legislature from 2008 to 2012 and from 2014 to 2016, when she lost to Dan Johnson.

So she won her (she inherited from her husband) seat back from the widow of the child molester, who denied it happened and had no real platform (or idea wtf she was doing).
A win is a win, but this isn't one they should brag about at all.

Well she apparently won after her husband died during a race, so it's not out of the question that that would happen.

SC lawmakers want to make sagging pants illegal for men.
A bill proposed in the South Carolina Legislature would allow fines for men and boys who are seen with sagging pants.
House Bill 4957, introduced Feb. 15, says it would be unlawful for a person to appear in public wearing “his pants” more than three inches below “the crest of his ileum exposing his skin or undergarments.”
The ilium is the broad, upper portion of either hipbone, according to dictionary.com.
Ileum spelled with an “E” — as it is written in the bill — is part of the small intestine, according to the dictionary website.
The offender would be subject to a $25 fine for a first offense; a $50 fine or up to 3 hours of community service, or both, for a second offense; and a $75 fine or up to 6 hours of community service, or both, for a third or subsequent offense.
The violation would not be a criminal or delinquent offense, the proposal says. It would be handled by municipal or magistrate court.
The proposal also says violations would not be grounds for denying, suspending or revoking college admissions or financial aid.

here's the thing the national Media doesn't understand, said supporters don't believe they were fooled no matter what evidence. It is peak tribalism in this country, might as well be pointing out their faults in religious beliefs.

Because admitting falling prey to foreign propaganda and being blinded by their own beliefs is not something you admit a) when confronted with it for the first time by some stranger (whom) you don't trust b) on (live?) National television.
Especially since the stranger is on the other side of the political spectrum this feels like a gotcha moment. There you have it, idiot. You got fooled by Russia. Now so as we say is best.
Idk how you guys can bridge the divide. But solely pointing out how wrong the other side is and sticking their contradictions in their face is not a feasible or sustainable way of conducting discourse. As an outside I have limited introspective to the US but it feels like the loudest voices are those of discord and finger pointing.
