What is the Ukrainian government doing? Just starve the occupiers and arrest anyone entering or leaving the area. Aren't they controlling their own police force?

Nope, they are not. In the Vice video it was shown how the police in Donetsk started taking orders from a lt. col of the Russian army.

Except, this isn't a "false" story. Everything goes, it's word against word here. So, i'd say, calling him out, saying "again a false story" (a repeat of when you posted that false piece) is an adhom. About the story itself, i kinda tend to think that it is in fact a "forge", but on the other hand, in the last couple of weeks i've seen russian officials say and do things that i'd consider way more retarded. So, nothing to be sure about here, certainly not enough to call it fact, but the same goes for calling it false. edit: talking about the jew-registrations, not the percentagething
giving in to your cold war psychosis was premature in this case, just like it was when ghan posted the false story. ḧope that clears up your apparent confusion.

The President and Chancellor Merkel of Germany spoke today regarding their deep concern about the situation in eastern Ukraine. The President commended the government of Ukraine’s approach to today’s discussions in Geneva, where it put forward constructive proposals to expand local governance and ensure the rights of all Ukrainians are protected. The leaders stressed that Russia needs to take immediate, concrete actions to de-escalate the situation in eastern Ukraine, including by using its influence over the irregular forces in eastern Ukraine to get them to lay down their arms and leave the buildings they have seized. The President and the Chancellor agreed that the United States and Europe are prepared to take further measures if this de-escalation does not occur in short order. The leaders also stressed their support for Ukraine’s May 25 presidential elections. Source.
@Nunez, stop calling it a false story. The Jew registration notice was posted, that the separatists claim (with some plausibility) that it wasn't posted by them doesn't make the fact less pertinent. Interpretation comes after the facts are laid bare.

although i find the rabid tone of your caricatures humorous, i would rather have you clarify the logic that this link is supposed to support. different uniforms -> russian forces?
in any case the article you linked does present a convincing case for russian army being part of the protests in the east, an allegation in a hyperlink (or otherwise) does not suffice.

But I don't see why we're talking about this now. Both the leaflet itself and Pushilin's statement are old news already. It's still not clear who got their hands on those marked papers, and why they wanted to distribute it. It's definitely nefarious, whoever is behind it. And, realistically, people are `taking shits on Russia', as you so eloquently put it, because they annexed a part of a sovereign country for made up reasons, after invading it with their army troops (as Putin admitted today in his interview), and now they are doing the same to Eastern Ukraine. If Russia was doing the same, Eastern Ukraine would have already been part of Russia. Some day i will really believe that 95% of Balts get this hate of Russia with mother's milk in early childhood. Putin lies and distorts out of his ass. I wouldn't trust anything coming out of his mouth. Those troops aren't there because of the crisis in Ukraine, and if Putin (or his spokesman) says so it's just blatant propaganda. I think Ukraine, "the West", and Russia are all lying about the troops on Ukraine's border.

it would escalate tensions. some other stuff that would escalate tensions:
mccain and nuland giving hand jibbers to the leader of svoboda and assorted pastries to euromaidan protestors, gershman et al funelling skrill into subversive groups through aid-fronts (god knows what the cia is up to, repent ye' sinners), kerry jumping on a clearly bullshit story with lighting speed to perform 'the disgraceful hypocrite' (yet again), brennan making a 'secret' visit to kremlins playground (re: what the cia is up to), us msm and govt avoiding the significance of fascists in the euromaidan movement, instead blaming it all on good ol' vlad p, nuland knighting gershman's buddy yatz as chief muppet.
this plays into a juicy us backed fascist puppet euromaidan narrative for putin in such an obvious fashion that you ought to consider the possibility of an effort to escalate tensions by the cadre that lied to us about syria and iraq, figured bombing russian troops in south-ossetia was a good idea and consider ukraine to be 'the biggest prize'. maybe this is fallout from vlad p and russian intelligence thwarting their push for an assad smash?
wonder how it looks from a russian point of view, pretty ridicolous i'd bet.

Wut? Why would Russia lie about where its troops are in this instance? Everyone is blasting them about having troops there, it would be in their interest to hide that they are there. I was being sarcastic I thought I sounded stupid enough that people would understand that I'm joking, but I guess there have been so many stupid things said in this thread that I should have been more clear
Wow, this thread is killing my sarcasm-o-meter.

Do you do anything except for personal attacks in this thread? That election story was widely circulated in the news, and the best you could do to counter it was to refer to a Reddit post... Maybe they just view you the way you view Chechens, except, you know, Chechens never killed the majority of Russia's intelligentsia and are only colonizing Moscow, not the whole country... Dunno, i never hated some people because of their nationality/religion or other stuff. It's like i should hate m4ini for example just because he lives in Germany and Germans killed a lot of Russians back in the days. But when i come to my girlfriend in Riga, sometimes even i feel bad :D And when actually did Russians kill majority of Baltic's intellgentsia? I'm not trolling, just for knowledge. Anywho, in my brief discourse with Wonderful, he admitted there are soldiers at the border, but thanks for that link about Putin anyways ;D

About bloody time that NATO gets it's lousy arse into gear:
U.S. ground troops going to Poland, defense minister saysPoland and the United States will announce next week the deployment of U.S. ground forces to Poland as part of an expansion of NATO presence in Central and Eastern Europe in response to events in Ukraine. That was the word from Poland’s defense minister, Tomasz Siemoniak, who visited The Post Friday after meeting with Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel at the Pentagon on Thursday. Siemoniak said the decision has been made on a political level and that military planners are working out details. There will also be intensified cooperation in air defense, special forces, cyberdefense and other areas. Poland will play a leading regional role, “under U.S. patronage,” he said. But the defense minister also said that any immediate NATO response to Russian aggression in Ukraine, while important, matter less than a long-term shift in the defense postures of Europe and America. The United States, having announced a “pivot” to Asia, needs to “re-pivot” to Europe, he said, and European countries that have cut back on defense spending need to reverse the trends. ..... Like President Obama, Siemoniak said it’s too soon to judge the agreement reached Thursday in Geneva to defuse tensions. He said he believes that Russia’s “special operation in eastern Ukraine didn’t go as planned” and that Putin may have decided to play a longer game. “He holds different instruments that he can use to influence events in Ukraine,” Siemoniak said. Putin will keep in reserve the option of an outright military incursion, “but the political, military and financial costs would be gigantic.” The 46-year-old minister mused that until recently NATO was wondering what mission it would have, if any, once its troops came home from Afghanistan. “Now we have an answer to that question,” he said. Source I'm also surprised that Canada is taking a more proactive role this time around, especially considering their lack of enthusiasm from previous conflicts.
Canada to send 6 CF-18s for NATO operation in Eastern EuropeCanada is sending six CF-18s and military personnel to assist NATO in operations in Eastern Europe. Prime Minister Stephen Harper announced the measures Thursday morning in Ottawa, in response to a request made by NATO this week amid rising tensions in eastern Ukraine. ..... "I believe this to be a long-term serious threat to global peace and security and we're always prepared to work with our allies in NATO and elsewhere to try and bring whatever stability we can to the situation." Sources say Lask, Poland, is being considered as the base for the fighter jets. There is no word on when the assets are to be deployed or whether NATO's plans could change with the Geneva agreement. ..... Sources tell CBC News that the CF-18 commitment is "incremental posturing," meaning there will be a small number of support staff to fly and maintain the planes. Canada will also provide a contingent of approximately 20 Canadian Armed Forces officers to NATO Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe in the Belgian city of Mons. These officers will be a part of security planning. NATO spokesperson Oana Lungescu welcomed Canada's contribution. “This reflects Alliance solidarity and our determination to ensure Alliance security. Work is underway through military staffs to determine appropriate basing arrangements," Lungescu said in an email. "The decision on where to base the aircraft will be taken in close consultation between Canada and NATO military authorities.” Liberal foreign affairs critic Marc Garneau tweeted, "The (Liberal Party of Canada) fully supports deployment of CF-18s and personnel." Paul Heinbecker, Canada's former ambassador to the United Nations, says this is a prudent response by NATO and Canada. "We kept NATO in (existence) all of these years partly as an insurance policy against the day that the Russians may come back. And the Russians are showing signs of coming back," Heinbecker told the CBC's James Cudmore in a radio interview. "So it's appropriate that NATO be the organization through which we respond to that." ..... Source
