when you make a commision about nsa spying, nsa have to send a spy into the commission to look what your doing xD come on that isnt even funny anymore america ... first spying us, then spying merkel and now this ...
when germany is in the semi final and the news agency has the headline about this, you know shit is going down

You people act like every country on earth doesn't have spies. We all spy on each other, it happens. An American spy got caught. He wasn't very good at his job obviously.
You can stop with the anti-american dog-pile please.
|
This article makes it sound like he was simply moonlighting information to whoever would pay for it. So while the US buying the information instead of maybe telling the Germans is shady, we still have to question what else this guy was selling and to whom.

a spy from an agency in a commission researching the spying of that agency i think you not get why this is so heavy
and no i dont stop when usa not even wanna sign a no spy agreement ... its just shit and if another country does this to the usa you insta goes crazy ...
hope this bnd guy never comes out of jail for high treason

Not sure how this is surprising in any way given all of the other information released about the NSA's activities.

Lol they kidnap torture and murder European citizens, they shamelessly insert spies in the government structure. And then they complain that Europeans are poor allies. #America.

Germany is going to look pretty silly getting all in a tizzy about spying once one of their spies gets caught.
Everyone is spying on everyone they can afford to. No government is against spying on other governments it's just a matter of budgeting.
The US isn't doing anything different regarding spying than any other country who can afford to does, well, other than repeatedly getting caught.

The NSA alone has a higher budget than we spend on our whole defense. The US intelligence budget is probably about 50 to a hundred times bigger than ours. I think that indicates that there is a qualitative difference in how the US spies compared to everybody else.
The Western European countries are supposed to be Americas allies. There are tremendous Anti-American tendencies here in Germany, and how America treats their alleged partners certainly has a lot to do with that.
|
jaeh i get they spy every country and i wonder that they not understand why everyone hates them for it, but spying on the comission who research about your spying is a level to high even for usa ...
|
Regardless if this is true, Europe definitely needs to look another direction cause the US has proven to be quite the unreliable ally the past decade...
|
Nations have been spying each other for ages, what's the big news here?
|
it's not about the fact that spying takes place. It's about who spies on whom and why. Germany and many other EU nations are supposed to be allies of the US government and this is not how you treat your friends.

Thank goodness a mod cleaned up this title

To be fair they did the kidnappings with the knowledge of European governments. Even in Italy where they 'only' informed their counterparts in military intelligence the CIA agents were subsequently pardoned by the Italian president (who is ironically a communist).

I'm really glad you pointed this out, and I hope the rest of this thread keeps this in mind before posting.
This isn't about MERUCA spying. This is about breaking alliance. We all gossip at work and play, but when you get caught doing it about your friend, it sucks ass, and looks really bad, so better not to gossip at all.
July 4th, interesting day this get uncovered. #Conspiracy
