Constant spouting about the patriarchy and identity politics in europe? Which is just not an actual issue for anyone in "real life" outside the left bubble.

You all solved sexism and racism in Europe? I didn’t get the memo. Is this a recent thing?

Nope, but we are on the way there. There's not going to be much racism left after the concentration camps have purified the lands again!

Well, we don't elect unwanted pussy grabbers in Europe. We've made a significant progress though. In terms of social rights, I think Europe is way better than the US.

Yeah, I knew he was scandalous but I didn't know about sexual assaults. Well, he is European Trump then. :D What's good about the EU is when a moron like that gets elected they don't rule all of the EU. Things are different with US presidents. Their power is greater.
|
Why on earth are you posting this in the EU thread?
Also this is hardly new. We saw the same, and much worse, during China's one child policy.
|
China's one child policy had the bad effect of increased abortion of girls, but overall the one child policy had probably an emancipatory effect, because families were forced to funnel all their money into a single child's career regardless whether it's a boy or girl. The same reduction in birth rates is probably a reason for increase of women's status across the developed world too.
It kind of kickstarted a generation of middle class individuals that's missing in India.

Do you realize that every big player in Europe wants Berlusconi to win the upcoming elections because he 'stands for Europe'? It's really funny and pathetic how people like Merkel were bashing him non-stop and now they are like 'please win' :D

Yes, but he is also a friend of Putin... what the fuck? You can't stand for Europe and be Putin's friend. It's a contradiction.
|
Sorry, but I don't see how Indian cultural conduction of marriage is related to politics in Europe except in the most tenuous terms.

We're not in kindergarten here. Politics is not black and white.
|
Well, you can support Putin's friends. I don't want to. There is a red line for me. If there aren't any barriers for you, then good for you.

Putin has gas. Will you use your moral sense to warm millions of houses? As an example, if Putin stops selling gas to Italy we have enough for 15 days only.
|
And thus sums up how Russia has been able to muck around with peoples elections and invade the Ukraine, holding cheap heating fuel and other natural resources over the heads of some nations.

I understand your opinion, but the EU has allies who will help with more diverse access. That's what we should do so we don't depend on a country with 19th century politics (Ukraine, Crimea, etc).

Well, what do you expect? We only have right-wing neoliberals and far-right neoconservative no-border parties that believe that freedom is the right of russian oligarchs to fuck over their own working people and then use that money to speculate on housing in the West in exchange for resources, while demanding that "our own" rich are finally allowed to assrape everyone with the West even more, so that they can "stay competitive". Though I guess I'm too harsh, some of the social-democrats and conservatives are just genuine esoterism-fanatics that believe that money is not a resource of its own and values and prices are not a matter of human demands and therefore of wealth, but just happen equally for some ying-yang reasons.

US and Azerbaijan offer resources to the EU. Probably more countries that I don't know about. We need more diverse access.
