Here is why I'm asking: The picture is of Magnus Carlsen - #1 chess player. His crease got increasingly more pronounced as he played more chess. (or aged)
http://imgur.com/jd9aPDj - Only pronounced on one side.
Why am I asking this question?
I feel considerably smarter these days, then 2 years ago. At the same time, I've also noticed, one side of my face, is developing 'the crease.' I am also using my brain a lot more and a lot more effectively.
For me, the crease is on the left side of my cheek. I was thinking - I do use my left - brain - logic and analysis - considerably more than my right side - maybe that's why the crease is more pronounced. Maybe, something about using your brain alot, causes this crease on the cheek.
Maybe ... it's like a sharigan. https://dailyanimeart.files.wordpress.com/2012/04/sasuke-sharingan.jpg?w=584&h=328
Once you use your brain to a certain extent, you get the crease.

Stress can cause this or just age.

They are nasojugal grooves, a term often used synonymously with the name 'tear trough'. However this is a contentious point amongst the medical community. I highly recommend you read this fascinating paper upon the subject: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/18047604.

Uh yea, they're called wrinkles. Get used to having them because it will happen someday... hopefully. The alternative is worse!

Almost. I'm pretty good at using search engines.

The idea of left/right-brained people and of one brain half controlling logic and the other creativity is an exaggeration bordering on being nothing more than a myth. It does not work like that.

Real, but entirely inconsistent and varied from person to person, and certainly not with actions divided cleanly between one side or another (in a general sense, possibly for certain individuals).

I thought it was just biological/genetics? My parents has them and I have some deep ones:

Definitely comes with age and just how your face is shaped I feel, stress as well as mentioned here.

^^^ look at this handsome nerd!
op that crease is because the guy in the pic is a massive cokehead. The one sided crease is when he gave his other side a break for a week. Trust me, it's science

Is this thread for real?

Thank god. With only 10% capacity at any given time, our brains couldn't handle that type of demarcation.

Studies on lateralization have not shown clear specialization or modularity according to hemisphere; however, functions are inconsistently lateralized (see language production between left-handed and right-handed subjects). So...hush.

I don't believe people "get smarter or dumber" anyway. It's just age.

People definitely do get smarter or dumber just as they get stronger or weaker physically.
