-title = I want to be really famous & rich because of my usefulness.
i figure that a person is able to capitalize on their experience in certain domains. For me, I am a lifelong gamer. I am also a bit of a rogue. I was under 10 years old when the Original Gameboy came out and I remember sneaking into my Mom's bathroom's closet to sneak a peak at my Christmas gifts. I just knew that she bought me a Gameboy, so I had to find out. I climbed to the 10ft tall shelf and found out that my destiny did infact include the coveted Gameboy.
I read Nintendo Power like crazy. My favorite part was always the Letters from the readers.
I grew into an avid lurker of forums. I eventually started posting. Before I knew it, I had 1,000 posts at the Diablo 2 forum.
A funny memory of mine is how hardcore of a gamer and yet how much of an "exclusive" person I was. I hated on all 20+ years old gamers because as far as I was concerned, they were no-life failures. Well, I have at times spent 100+ hours in a week's time on a videogame as a 20+ year old. So I had to eat my hat on those things (or admit that I have as an adult been at times been a total no-life failure).
Anyhow, I have had a unique life among many unique lives. My life has not been like the billionaire Sam Wyly's who was an undersized Highschool Football player who became a National Champion. My life has not been like the straight-A student who went to an Ivy League.
But I sure as hell have picked up a lot of knowledge and learned under the tutelage of people who have made it from literally nothing -- true rags to riches -- and I have always been of a student mindset.
So I want to be really famous, somewhat because I am vain and believe that my unique story has something to offer.
And I want to be really rich because I sure as hell prefer luxury to any kind of life that is "just getting by" or in poverty. I have experience all 3 types of life during my time on this Earth.
So I am writing this post because I want to know what you, the individuals who could make my dream of being famous and rich possible, think you'd like to see in a famous and rich individuals. I am someone who is at a crossroads between a behind-the-scenes technical career (computer programmer, or accountant) and a career as a personality who is famous for bringing useful information to the common person in an accessible format for the millenial generation.
Tell me, what can I do to help YOU?
|
What can you do to help me? Well, start by not becoming rich nor famous. If you're rich and famous you're not helping anyone, however everyone is willing to help you.

I think becoming rich & famous is typically something that happens because that person is helping other people enough such that those people pay the first person attention and monies!?

After reading your post, I suggest you become a programmer. Your writing isn't very interesting (and no one who becomes an accountant is passionate about anything except changing careers away from accountant).

Let's meet up, I will personally decapitate you with an axe and then feast on your intestines.

I think that's a rather poetic, for the lack of another word, vision of things. Most of the time wealth and fame come precisely from a selfish behavior. If you help people, you're not the center of attention ; it's your helping actions that are. If you help people, you're not getting money out of it, not as much money as you could get if you were approaching the situation without wanting to help them. I guess it all comes down to what you define by "helping" though, as well as what you define by "rich" and "famous". But in any case it's easier to get rich (and to some extent famous) by not helping people around you.

Its interesting that you say "Most of the time wealth and fame come precisely from selfish behavior." as a contrary point to my assertion that people become rich and famous because they help other people. Didn't Bill Gates become rich and famous because he helped so many people interface with machine technology? Didn't Kim Kardashian become rich and famous because she helped people become confident in their bodyshape?
|
What makes you more useful than the next guy on this forum? Since you're trying to be rich and famous through actually offering something good enough for it (not luck or born into it), you better make or offer something gooood. Are you super talented at something? Are you hard working?
|
If the most interesting thing about you is how much games you've played, I don't think you're really ready yet to aim at riches and fame. You do bring up the point of Kim Kardashian... be stupid and somewhat good looking I guess? Although wasn't she born rich?
You ask what I'd like to see in famous and rich individuals? I'd like them to be exceptionally intelligent, broad-minded, magnanimous, and tireless in their devotion to a noble cause. I think someone who climbs to undreamed of heights and tries to lift others up to their level, deserves to be rich and famous.

Why would you eat the intestines when there are much better cuts available? The calves are the most tasty as they have a good mixture of fat and lean muscle. If you must eat offal intestines should still not be your first choice. Liver is the way to go. Just make sure that OP is not an booze hound. Besides don't you know there are poop inside the intestines?

Bill Gates became famous because he was very successful at selling his shit. Kim Kardashian became famous because she knew how to sell herself, her character, to the medias. I mean if these two helped people when becoming rich and famous, then your cat is helping you everyday by giving you attention when he wants to eat, and he deserves to be rich and famous too.
