Best of luck with the marathon! I see SpikeVegeta is listed as a runner

I suppose I'll donate a little to this. My wife is a public interest attorney for mental health patients so if I donate to this it will probably please her greatly.

oh wow radiant historia is in this.
hopefully it give people the exposure it deserves, easily one of the best JRPGs I have ever played.

So a few of my good friends actually run this event. I know they will do a fantastic job and they were off to a good start!
Definitely tune in! (I am going to miss Radiant Historia sadly because I work)

Yeah, the planning and production runs quite smoothly. I didn't catch all jokes of Essentias girls though (must watch btw)
Maybe we can bribe someone to put the stream here on the stream-list, like with AGDQ! We have the "who is who" of RPG-speedrunners and many fan-favorites like spikevegeta, puwexil, brossentia, Essentia, ... definitely a high-class event and probably the second biggest marathon outside the XGDQ series!
Also I will add now the link to the theyetee-tshirts ALL HAIL OUR OVERLORD!

Wait - a TES2: Daggerfall speedrun? The game that's notorious for corrupting games and crashing at random points? This will be interesting to watch.
Great initiative, although I'm sad SevenS1ns noslots FF7-run isnt there.

quite happy they added valkyrie profile in the first place. sad the music wasn't exhibited.

That would be ESA.

It's been linked to the live events.

Cool, didn't miss FFV or Earthbound! Gotta remember Bravely Default later.

Shining Force 2 :3
My first ever RPG.

I recommend everyone reading this to watch Wild Arms coming up in a few hours, and Eternal Sonata if you want to stay up really late
Wild Arms was a really good RPG back in the late 90's on PS1 that I thought was on par with FFVII around that same time. Eternal Sonata I tried it out for the hell of it while waiting for FFXIII in 2010, and it made me appreciate using some mechanical skills during every battle, while having such a neat storyline based using Frederic Chopin as a playable character

Yes, definitely. One of the more unique battle mechanics with a great story for a jrpg. Haven't seen anything like Radiant Historia since.

Really? I tried looking up ESA (never heard of it before, except for that one time you randomly mentioned the acronym in the AGDQ 2016 thread I made) and nearly every page was down/ unhelpful, but is it really only netting $20-30K? A few articles that were a few years old said that, but maybe it's grown over the past few years? Considering the GDQ tourneys net over a million dollars each, $30K is pretty unfortunate. How long is the ESA tournament?
This said $20K four years ago for ESA: http://n4g.com/user/blogpost/ichizon/529413
RPGLB is at over $75K.
Even more importantly though, please make a TL thread for this year's ESA when it starts (haven't seen any previous threads for ESAs) so we can learn more about it and donate to a good cause

People who watch RPGLimit~BREAKUUUU! must have good jobs and generous personalities.

The main goal of ESA isn't to raise money. The charity is there pretty much just for the sake of it. We even considered removing the fundraising aspect entirely a couple years ago. It is true that the amounts raised by ESA are significantly lower than what other marathons that push the charities much more get.
It is the biggest after GDQs in the attendance (over 300 last year, expected to be more this year - It lasts for a whole week) and variety/quality of the speedruns sense. In the latter it honestly pretty much is the equal of the GDQs, as it brings many of the top speedrunners from Europe to a marathon, and they have nothing to envy to the North Americans in terms of skill.
I'll see about making a thread when the moment comes. There are a few guys from TL who attend (including myself - I submitted the chinese campaign from C&C Generals) and I know you guys like watching these speedrun marathon so it could bring a bit more attention to ESA.
