FINALLY! Adding the fourth tier to our Liquipedia contribution coins has been in the works for ages. To be honest, we should have gotten this done way earlier to show appreciation to some of the most awesome contributors Liquipedia has. At the launch of our coins, 5 years ago, we included three tiers, Bronze, Silver, and Gold, each with four levels, ranging from one to four coins, for a total of 12 ranks. Now we are adding an additional tier above Gold called Diamond, which has four levels as well. Today there’s 21 people (3 bots, but they don't count) who got at least one diamond, feel free to try to find them all.
One of our amazing contributors and staff members (Koorb) had already earned his diamond coin in 2013, but we were too far from a design we were all happy with. Now we finally have diamond coins, and we would like to take this opportunity to thank all our our contributors. Over the years Liquipedia has grown to be a pillar of esports, and these people are the main reason why.
We also want to thank fusefuse for working on designing these coins even when his schedule was swamped, and his brother fomal for helping get all the files in order and fixing some of the last few things.
Even though we especially honour the contributors that will get diamond coins today, do not forget that Liquipedia is built on the contributions of everyone who has ever contributed. We would not be where we are today without all of them, so a big thank you to all of you who have ever contributed, no matter how much or how little. YOU ARE AWESOME!

Don't open this discussion, you don't know what you're getting yourself into

HAHAHHA this was a route we were going in for a year or so.... but we couldn't make platinum coins that were different enough from the silver coins so it was too confusing..... so that's why diamonds ....
While it's a nice addition, they don't look great. I think the outline or the color needs to be reworked because as it stands, all the other coins are in a different league imo.

Like how do you make a diamond coin?
Carve a liquipedia coin out of graphite place it into a liquipedia coin shaped ceramic mould, put the mould into a cemented carbide pressure chamber thing. put the cemented carbide pressure chamber thing into a synthetic diamond making press that puts 3000 tons of pressure and heats the mould to 2400 deg C and does this for 6 hours. Pull out the carbide pressure chamber thing and then the mould from within it. Scrape off the ceramic mould from the newly minted Liquipedia Diamond Coin.
Whoever came up with the idea of giving people diamond coins isn't exactly a world-class economist, but thanks a bunch to everyone for their contributions.
id like to mention the coins were the result of a massive joint operation of 3 different people procrastinating on them for thousands and thousands of manhours combined

Definitely thought this was going to be a post about diamond leaguers who just can't seem to make it into masters. Turned out much better than I expected

I would have made platinum coins first, and kept diamond coins for a future 5th tier.

Congrats to the select few who secured multiple diamond coins. You guys are maniacs, in the good sense of the word!
Back in the days when I started editing, the highest ranked contributors had two gold coins, which looked like Mount Everest back then… See how far Liquipedia has come in the meantime!
