NN is a band-aid that makes the wound worse; it's never been a cure, as evidenced by the largest providers in this industry lobbying FOR it, not against.
In what reality is this true? All the big ISPs are lobbying against NN (pro-repeal). Do you mean big companies like Google, Facebook, etc? So what about them?
It's the biggest clue and red flag of why repealing NN is a sham argument. The proposed benefit for consumers is increased competition, but it's ludicrous to think that the monopolies would want to weaken their control of the market by introducing competition. Which surely you can't disagree that a company advocating for something strongly implies it's in their own interest since you've just admitted that's how you feel about these "big providers".
And yes people want competition in ISPs, but it's only the biggest concern because we have NN and it's not even an issue on a lot of people's radar (except possibly at times like this) because it's not a problem. Of course something that's not actively a problem isn't going to be the biggest issue people face.
