*VP position in a large organization is offered to you which is originally your friend's position. Your friend will be transferred to another department. *Obtaining large sum of money like 500K by selling ideas on business optimization/integration which you were going to give to your friend for free. *Going out with your dream girl/guy who happens to be your mate's partner *Standing up for what you believe is right which may involve ratting on your friend *Your held at a gunpoint and threatened to be killed if not reveal the wheareabouts of your best friend. (They are trying to track your friend down and kill him)

(Vote): If there is a chance for significant career advancement (Vote): If there is large sum of money involved (Vote): If your dream girl/guy is involved (Vote): If you have a bad attack of conscience (standing up for what is right) (Vote): Only in a matter of life and death situation such as at a gunpoint (Vote): Never (Vote): Others (Please elaborate)

This is way too general. The "never" answer is probably closest to how I feel.

In the event that they tell you you're worthless blah blah blah....-_-...How me and my ex ended is what I mean...hence why I refuse to date a friend. I chose not to lie, and got told I backstabbed her...awesome. Didn't care...It was her own fault. "Call her (her mom). Talk to her. Maybe you'll get it (my jacket) back. Its not my problem."
K...I called and talked to her mom, to get my jacket back. She asked what I knew about her daughter. "too much." 'Like what?' "Stuff you don't wanna know and couldn't handle."

Just never trust your friends too much, that way you never could get betrayed no matter what.
|
I'm curious.... For the people who voted never, does that mean you would still not betray your friend even at a gunpoint? So would you actually risk your life for them?
|
Never betrayed any of my friends yet. Don't think it's gonna happen in the near future either.
|
Obviously this can only be general.. as I do not know what situations/surroundings you all are in. It would be impossible to draft up every single possible scenarios to suit all of you.

never. i dont have a best friend. ez

Never. They're my best friend for a reason.

..and be labeled a coward from that point on if i choose not to?
But that question also depends on how close you and your friend are. (e.g. childhood friend, college buddy, etc)

Whoever votes "Never." ... yeah right.
A group of terrorists hold your whole family hostage. Plus the love of your life and whatnot. All they demand is that you tell them your best friends mobile pin number.
BETRAY YES/NO ?
Stupid poll.

well never is closest to how i feel but i mean if by "betray" you mean "say something bad about him to save my own life" thats insulting but not damaging then i guess not but if its like some guy is pointing gun at me and I can save my own life through killing best friend then noway
|
If he would stab me, even just by accident, i would definetly stab back. I mean there's nothing worse than being stabed.

Conscience wins out before blind loyalty.
But, this is all too vague in general, as there are degrees involved.
