I prefer light mice, because they don't tire my wrist and elbow as much.

Actually when referring to the computer peripheral mouses is not wrong... not really right either. Both mouses and mice are proper plurals of the computer mouse =) Mouses just sounds wrong, though. =b As for weight... I'm not entirely sure. I suppose I like lighter mice. Frankly, I don't like to say I like heavy mice, clothpads, and tilt-wheel. I find systems that work. Right now my weapon of choice is the Microsoft Wheel Mouse Optical. Simple, cheap, comfy and solid. Owning 5-7 brand-name mousepads and more than my share "gaming" mice, many spur-of-the-moment-looks-cool-to-add-to-collection mice, it's funny that I settle on the WMO, a Qck+, and, of course, my Mouse Bungee (<-- best purchase out of any computer peripheral).

I've got a Razer Diamondback 3G and a Logitech Mini Optical. They're about the same weight but the mini optical is considerably smaller. I've been using both quite a while now and I like the Diamondback more for shooters and the like because it fits into my hand pretty neatly and I can use my wrist to aim without having to grip the mouse too tightly. On the other hand the mini optical feels a lot better for rts games where I have to switch directions a lot and often have to do very small movements very quickly because it's way easier to move the mouse just with my fingertips.

I use a microsoft optical mouse that was bought back in.. 2002 or something, pretty surprised that it's still working. Stop putting so much emphasis on gears and just play the game.

Mainly because in some games, I have to actually lift the mouse up when I move the mouse too much, in order to put it back into the center of my mouse pad.

I have the sensitivity turned up pretty high though, so the mouse doesn't ever move too far from the center of the pad.

I've never used a razer before. I've had the DeathAdder for about a year and a half now, and I love it to death (no pun intended). I had a Logitech MX550 (I think that was the name...) previously which I loved for browsing because of all the extra buttons, but the DeathAdder felt like it was more like it was meant for gaming. It's relatively light IMO and it has teflon pads on the bottom that make it slide over your mousepad crazily smooth (I love that about it). It can also operate over a huge range of sensitivities which you can switch by pressing a button underneath it. My only major qualm about it is that it gets dirty extremely easily on the non-rubber sides, but I got over that easily. I would definitely recommend it, though I haven't tried the other Razer models extensively so I can't comment on those .

http://www.roccat.org/Products/Gaming-Accessories/ROCCAT-Apuri/ The product looks insane, but it's overkill. It kinda looks like a mini turret too
