Well Illidan can replace a tank, but he kinda needs a healer for it. Just like some tanks can replace the healer if the specialists/assassins have a bit of self sustain. Biggest issue for me is that people play like emos if there is a tank or a healer missing. Or if there are 2 specialists (which owns single tank comps) Of course their aim is to get others to belief that there is something like an optimal class composition. While there is a soft rps system in place when it comes to classes.

This was a game i played today. First pick gazlow, second pick aba. and that guy was lvl 33. Just no fun playing that way.

Just played with a Kerrigan who had the uncanny ability to overcommit and dive bomb into a team when we're all elsewhere, but never be present during actual team fights. He died 4 times in the first 4 minutes, and went 2-10 overall. While we're all asking him to stay with the team, he literally said we all suck and that he'd 1v1 any of us.

Oh dear, when I play Kerrigan I play sooo careful these days, only committing when my team is nearby or when I'm sure I can nab the kill solo without too much risk. Kerrigan also can't solo anyone these days without some help, I think Sylvanas is probably the only exception. Pre-BFB/Envenom nerf I could try and solo a Jaina but now she'll just turn around and kill you before you kill her. In the PTR she is much better though, but a bad Kerrigan is like playing 4v5, she'll just die again and again without grabbing anyone. Did she ever manage to land the combo properly? Also, dying four times in the early game as Kerrigan is just special, she's very strong in the early game if you have any sense of caution. She's the one in the early game to get the kills, not get killed.
Her job is to stalk the enemy team and wait for that chance to grab someone and have the rest of the team finish the hero off. She is also a decent chaser and can hold her own as long as she has some support. Jumping straight in (with Q of course!) just gets you focused down and killed, fast.
The worst player I've encountered so far was a Hammer on Haunted Mines that was determined to play single player in the bottom lane. Never joined a teamfight (ever), never went into the mines to gather skulls and literally kept solo pushing the bottom lane even when the golem was pushing our core. Every time the team asked her to group up she would actually reply with a 'No', going as far as stating that as a specialist she should only push lanes and that we suck. As a result she went 3-14 with less than 10k hero damage at the end of the game. Sigh.
Some people just don't understand the concept of a team game.

7 game losing streak in hero league tonight. Every game it felt the same: teammates wanting to take boss when entire enemy team was in the same lane as the boss. Teammates charging into 2v5 fights to try and steal a boss as the enemy team was capping it. Teammates going in as a single player against 5 people turning in blackheart's bay, or curses on cursed hollow.
And every time, despite my clear warning pings and chatting "I don't think you should engage while outnumbered", somehow the rest of the team was at fault for our loss.
|
I always chat 'Too risky with no enemy heroes down' when the team wants to do a boss on equal terms. Most of the time someone else agrees and it gets called off, but not always. If not, the best thing is to just try it anyway since the team will have a better chance with you there.
The most annoying thing to deal with for me is when a single member of the team decides to solo in the late game, gets killed because of it and the enemy teams gets a chance to come back or get an advantage or objective. Just stick together once the late game hits guys, come on. Or at the very least don't overextend and rush into the enemy lanes.

yeah, when people went yolo on the boss I stuck around to help out. Fortunately I was a Q-build valla so I could do my damage and gtfo, but the rest of the team died due to the counter attack & the enemy team got the boss. :\
|
bah lost because a silvanas was starting to feed -.- . Complained about no team fights, while she solod the enemy bruiser camps ... when temples were up, with no damage up versus minions talent.
But I guess it was punishment since I won the game before with sheer luck and boss ignore by the opponent.

A rant bout matchmaking and players:
Was playing HL the other day. Someone notices in draft that in our team was a rank 41, rest was around rank 15.
Flaming level 1 already (everyone pissed at matchmaking)
The Rank 41 person takes Hammer on Haunted Mines
Flaming level 2 reached (everyone pissed at matchmaking/ hammer for stupid choice)
Hammer dies 4 times in the first 2min
Flaming level 3 (name calling, feeding/careless play)
A few minutes later (second mine phase) hammer has 2:8, enemies are ahead 2 levels 8:10 and have ults up, resulting in a 92 skulls golem for them
Flaming level 4 is reached (everyone feeding, going afk. if friendly fire was allowed.... )
Game was done in under 10mins (9:56 i believe) I even lost 107 points for that... WHY DA FUQ??

Someone once told me "No, not hammer. He has 30% winrate on mines". But no one flamed me for taking hammer. So I played my best and we won with second golem. If they would have flamed me I probably would have fallen apart.
I don't understand people who flame. Its like a choice between winning and arguing with strangers you'll never meet again.

True. But you have to be the bigger person and press that mute button or just ignore them, which isn't always easy.
I am staying calm in 99% of my games, but sometimes, just sometimes, someone says/does something so outrageously, hilariously stupid... and i'm just thinking: "this can't be. he/she can't be serious. this is impossible, it's got to be"
And then i just break...

hm i must have dropped a few matchmaking points while I was not doing QM alot. Had a Malf feeder who proclaimed the enemy team would be bad and an afk slug would carry them and he would carry us, waiting for 2 minutes at the boss so we would come. Tychus who ran around alone with half health against a Nova on 5 stacks so he was feeding more then Malf. Nazebo who gged within 10 seconds and had horrible talent picks and went of to clean waves, after joining up for a 5v5 fight.
Only the silent Zagara did well. Enemy wasn't better of though. With an afk slug who went for push talents an over aggressive Lili and a Nova who spewed out 4 holos and prayed no one would notice the rewind button. And they ignored collecting coins.
Most angry bit is I lost us the game. Nova killed a few and grabbed coins. I was after her 1 attack missing ... and I accidently hit another minion. Would have been the winning turn in. Afterwards Malf Tychus feeded coins to the enemy team so they could pay nonstop heh. On the bright side. I did well on Valla. Prolly took the wrong ult though.

I'm a pretty dispassionate person in general, but when we start losing hard because of teammates I just start focusing on practicing engage tactics//etc. It helps me enjoy the rest of the game, and maybe be with it enough to recognize when the other team throws the game and lets us do a core rush.
I just don't get what people get mad about in a video game. This is how I relax, specifically because there is nothing to get angry ABOUT. At work when things don't go my way, that has real-world consequences. Video games have reset buttons so you don't need to fret.

Just discovered that I'm 3 points away from platinum on QM. Why did I have to stop my QM run early last night??
|
God damned Kharazim player, we have the opportunity to take a 5v4 team fight and not only does he continue laning he complains later on that we're grouped up.
Dude, come on, TEAM FIGHTS REQUIRE THE >>>TEAM<<<
Terrible day of QM...
|
played the game of my life as zeratul, 2-3 levels ahead , easy win...
NO! One catastrophic engagement from us and BOOM, they are rushing our core. doesn't help that my teammates come out one by one to stop them, just to die again....
Sometimes the comeback mechanic can be a real pain....

I have now lost 4 of my placement matches because my co-players are morons. Literally feeding all game. /FACEDESK

I'm really afraid of that as well. So far i'm 6:4 winning but it should have at least been 7:3, prolly even 8:2 cause of trolls and feeders
|
Just finished my placement matches. PATHETIC! Placed in rank 39. Before patch i was 19 max. but ended droping to 24. This is complete bullshit. Not to mention some teammates in those placement matches. No point in playing hero league, QM is at least fun.
|
yeah might be a problem now, since most people already are through their placement matches and you are left with the trolls and feeders. I basically just played creep Zagara in the first games and made sure to cover the whole map in vision. And make sure that they know that I see them doing silly things with a retreat ping. Got enough wins to leave the Feeder/Troll Area. But wasn't easy lol.
