FAQ: Q: What are One-Stop Guides? A: + Show Spoiler +The idea is that you learn enough from the VOD to gain a basic understanding the way the Hero or Map plays out. There'll be 10-20 minutes of talent tree breakdown and theory, and then 10-30 minutes of a spontaneous Hero League game to apply the theory.
Q: When a patch hits, are the guides still valid? A: + Show Spoiler +Hero Guides for patched Heroes that changed a lot can be obsolete. The newer, the more up to date generally. When I've gone full circle (or before), I may re-do changed Heroes. Seeing the evolution of things when patches hit can be useful to foster game understanding though, so I guess it's not entirely a waste to watch later.
Q: Why do you show multiple talent trees instead of just the best? A: + Show Spoiler +We begin with research into how all the talents interact. We're not ruling out builds that could potentially be viable given the right circumstances. The idea is to explain the basics to beginners, create some food for thought for intermediate players and perhaps teach a few unique interactions to advanced players from my testing.
There is a heavy emphasis on talent tree versatility - by this I mean, keeping an open mind about how less common talents may be viable, how they may be used. You won't see, "this is the only viable talent tree", because we've been proven time & time again that it doesn't hold true for long with changing metagames.
Q: I have feedback for you, where do I leave it? A: + Show Spoiler +Here or on YouTube is both fine. I'll try to answer whenever possible. I am aware that some VOD's (especially the first ones) suffer from low volume sometimes.
Q: Well met, who are you? A: + Show Spoiler +My name is Manuel "Grubby" Schenkhuizen and I've been a WarCraft III & StarCraft II professional gamer since 2004. Since 2015, I play a lot of Heroes of the Storm and it's pretty much my favorite game at the moment. I find that it feels and plays out a lot like WC3 even though it's a team game and WC3 was a 1v1 game.

Thanks for the index! I like these.

Grubby your videos are awesome, watched a lot of them and the Zeratul guide helped me out a lot at the start! Thanks for the content .
Btw any chance you will put up LotV content in the future? Might just be my favourite YT channel then.

Awesome videos Grubby! And thank you for your stream as well! Hope you are doing well in the US!

Some nice videos.
On the zagara video I missed that the ult is an important setup for other ultimates and spells, I find you wait way too long with it to get some good hit or something. Just throwing it early and eradicating a hero with some combo is often best I find, waiting for the great 3+ man hit tends to lead to not using it well at all I find or even worse, timing it coincedentally with another ult. In the example game you were with valla and diablo, if you just hit early you can decimate 1 or 2 heroes with some sweet ultimate combo's there. I also think you need to preemptively spam the rapid incubation much more, you ran out of mana quite a bit with liberal use of hunterkiller and creep tumors without spamming the incubation to make up for that losing out on a lot of damage early by being OOM at tribute fights.
Overall some good video's although they are extremely lengthy, they can use some clickable shortcuts to specific parts like skill&talent overview, builds, example game.

Nice stuff. Definitely something for beginners to check out.
I suppose you're making a Jaina guide too, since i caught you flaming my Murky while playing her in hero league. Good times.

I'm actually doing a Murky guide soon if you wanna learn how to properly feed. Jaina guide would be good for that too. Hope you don't think I offended you, as I don't take myself and others too seriously. Apologies if so - I detect an undertone :p

Fair points, will keep in mind! I started off with the Heroes I felt that I controlled the most well, like Uther, Hammer, and Nova for instance which I've all got level 10+. Zagara I only have level 8, but I still felt confident enough I had enough to teach, even though I know I'm not the best on her or so hehe :p

Hi Grubby,
1. Your Nova One-Stop guide turned me into a "why did I buy her except for her good looks?" to a "90% games now played with Nova, great win rate and lots of fun in every game (even losses)". THANKS A LOT. My only problem now is that I really don't feel the same pleasure with any other hero.
2. Also I appreciate the fact that you don't look like a total douche like some casters. You don't act all superior in you video, and actually you feel like a nice guy. Thanks for that too.
3. Your english is quite easy to understand, and that's great.
Did I thank you already? Thank you and keep helping the community. :-)

It´s not for shit and giggles that people call me the essence of toxicity <3
|
well Murky is the best way to get rid of all that toxic stuff. Just keep hitting the Q
|
I never lost a single ranked game with a Murky in my team. He always gets flamed and we always win. Can't wait for this guide.
|
Now that I am coming back to the Netherlands I'm looking to continue doing the guides real soon again. Please allow time for #stormthedorm #hype-aftershock, physical travel and homecoming. Then it's back to streamtrain and guide-train. Thank you

It would be so great to see Jaina guide. It's so sad that from those heroes I like only Tassadar. Maybe I like Tassadar the most.
|
interesting i'll definitely have a look at some when i get home thx grubby.
