For me its totally gamedestroying, because you just become untouchable. In my opinion it totally destroys the whole Idea of teamfighting, since one enemy simply just cant be attacked for a not too short duration ... Basically, it can be shut down by quick reactions/luck, but otherwise its a pretty good ult once you it 11/16. At level 6, its a bit underwhelming imo.

It´s how it´s presented to it´s players. "Skill" in LoL can´t be represented as a singular number, player performance is too variable for that. Players are only ever in an Elo range - the system thus should show that range instead of a seemingly fixed number. Something like SC2s system.

Players are only ever in an Elo range - the system thus should show that range instead of a seemingly fixed number. Something like SC2s system. That's actually a great idea. It reduces the perceived importance of each individual game and reduces the pretense of 100 ELO differences being significant.

The reason why he fell out of f(l)avor months ago was because his laning blew and most people couldn't play him as a support besides Laoching. I still say he's going to be mainstay for at least another tournament (IPL4). Banned or picked status. mmm, I dunno, maybe I'm just not that good with Shen, but I feel like his lategame teamfight presence is pretty meh. all he does is split push well, but if they have anyone who can stand up to you and hang onto a TP or disrupt your ult, he just feels underwhelming IMO due to really rough energy constraints in teamfights.

I personally don't comment on another person's play unless its to say gj. They are most likely not going to change their playstyle mid-game and it's very hard to not get on that person's nerves. What is likely to happen though is a massive shit-fest of who is right who is wrong, which only makes everyone play worse. On the other hand if it's a teammate you know, then that mistake should be pointed out since a) they probably value your feedback and b) they can learn to fix the mistake.

I've recently started playing support for a 5s team and I feel like I could use some tips on lane matchups, warding and generals of the sort. I play the bot lane in ranked now whether it be ad carry or support, and I feel like just in general, playing bot exclusively has helped me understand a greater deal about the lane, but I still make blatant lane mistakes when there is a matchup I dont understand. Example just yesterday me and my duo partner decided to be aggressive as Janna corki vs sona ezrael at level 3 and it ended up with us getting our asses handed on a platter lol. Is this a positional mistake of being hit by ezrael q or is the lane just stronger at that certain level. Feel free to talk to me ingame as well as in the thread. I feel like there is alot of things to be picked up from watching other people play but support streams are rare :3 Bot lane is pretty hard to theorycraft because there are so many variables. vs Sona Ez, it's a lot to do with position as your creep waves come in. Both of them have longer, more damaging pokes than Corki Janna have. You went into the game picking an aggressive pair but unluckily you were "countered" by a pair that begs for you to play aggro and eat their pokes. Looking at the load screen, Corki should have chose to farm it out. Ez Sona have superior poke and sustain. Around level 5, you can play more aggressive with level 3 Phosph Bomb and Shield. Don't sound like a douche. Just ping and make comments on what to do. It's solo q, either they heed the extra advice or they're never going to listen. Does help if you yourself are playing exceptionally well before you give advice. I know you mean well but if you're 0 3 in lane, no one is going to want to listen to you, even if your "commands" are legitimately correct.

You need to find ways of phrasing your criticism that aren't accusatory/inflammatory/attacking. When you say 'please stop getting caught,' even if correct, you are attacking someone. You could say, "Graves, you will get more kills if you position yourself towards the back of our team during a fight." Still fairly obviously a criticism, but formulated in a way that it makes it worth it to himself very obviously to do what is being laid out for him. This is basic human psychology and conversational skill: people respond better when you make it worth their while to do so, and will almost always respond negatively when attacked or put on the defensive, which usually leads to a decrease in future performance(some exceptions, there is a time and place for negative reinforcement).

PROBABLY? Even after those buffs he wasn't exactly scary. He's no fun to play against, I'll admit that one.

Well, like with any champ, team comp must be taken into consideration. If you have an AoE team, obviously Ramble is going to do better than Shen. But like you said, Shen's strength is split push and ulti in. I never feel like there are energy problems unless you make an extremely poor decision. Miss a Dash and you will be fucked. Feint can be tricky to use because it's questionable whether or not people are going to target you in a team fight. For the most part, I avoid using Feint unless it's for life saving purposes (I'm near death, people are gunning to kill me, etc)

For the most part, I avoid using Feint unless it's for life saving purposes (I'm near death, people are gunning to kill me, etc) I guess what I'm trying to get at is that I ran into a Singed with TP with Shen in AHGL and even though I could bully him in lane a bit, he eventually hit critical mass and felt infinitely more useful than me late game because I can't beat him 1v1, he out pushes me and does tons more in late game teamfights. It was just very frustrating to me to feel like I could ultimately be outclassed by a 1400 Singed as Shen. This is definitely a weird case since the skill levels of all the players in AHGL varies pretty wildly and that puts a lot of pressure on me to carry from top, but I just felt like Shen's lategame vs. a good 1v1er and pusher with TP is totally forgettable.

He has crazy sustain, ranged poke and CC, true damage, and maybe the best ult in the game for a bruiser. Not to mention his ridiculous passive which works very well with buying health (wait... oh, and he SCALES off health). He is pretty weak very early (1-4 maybe), then becomes a pretty big pain to lane against, not to mention his crazy anti carry capabilities in teamfights.

I noticed that I'm generally more followed on the roaming/teamfighting stuff, and far less on lane behaviour or builds (in the game I referenced yesterday, the Pantheon went something like wriggles/atmas/started a triforce against a Nidalee, as friggin' big thing Naut I advised me to build more AD, as I was already taking all aggro each fight, but he never listened). Also, people in premade tend to listen much less from what I've experienced. Edit: also, what went on in that Fiora video? I didn't understand how WW did it. Or was it simply a random bug?

his lategame energy is definitely a problem, moreso than before i think shen works better in smaller fights now, tbh. his damage output is really good in small exchanges.

People generally don't like bruisers without gap closers (see nasus, trundle, etc). They end up being quite kitable.

I dunno, his damage output is OK, but you have to sorta itemize for it, which makes you less tanky and gets you trucked in teamfights. bleh, I'm just frustrated that in a straight up 5v5 engage I felt like I could taunt and then do nothing as a bruiser. maybe I'm just too used to the top end teamfighting bruisers to play Shen.
