The average professional gamer doesn't make much money. There are always some who are very well paid (Jaedong, Flash) and those who probably make a lot (HotshotGG), but there's a pretty big gap between the well-paid minority and the typical player, especially given how many players there are competing at tournaments. How much money do you think someone on EG makes in a year? I doubt it's very much. Low end teams have little to no salary from their sponsors and only win (or place into the money) in a handful of tournaments. You could play for a few years and then go to college afterwards, but at that point your gaming experience has almost no value and not much relationship to your future income. It will be your education and new career that's making the money, not the professional gamer. Moreover, your professional gamer status will be 4+ years old by the time you start looking for serious work (e.g. more than an internship). Simply put, the average progamer doesn't make much money and the title of professional gamer is more of an interesting footnote that might get you in the door for an interview than anything. The best you can hope for is probably meeting someone big in the industry when you're competing at an event and then using that as a stepping stone later on. The problem is you can't sit around for half a decade between meeting them and trying to get a job. The smartest players are the ones who are either getting an education while competing or building a business out of their status that they can continue it once they stop playing.

I went into patient mode, ennemy team got 2 nashors, but I farmed up to my Raba after my RoA. Never fought without flash and ignite. We won with clutch ults \o/ Late game she just is incredibly strong. You have to be very patient in teamfights, but if you can keep your ult for the carry and flash ult ignite full combo him after a few CDs then move around (since usually the carry was in the back) spamming Q with Tibers dealing massive AoE... It's golden.

I think his shop is good example. People who don't believe that pro gamers don't get a lot of money have to think, 'where does the money come from?'. From tournaments (50-250 dollars for most weekly tourneys I think.) and sponsorship. Do you really think that sponsors would pour money over your head just because you're good at SC2/LOL? Yeah right. Oh yeah, Fiora patch... It's OK. People are still figuring out Fiora, but she seems pretty damn good. Some people said you can kite her, but she's too fast starting midgame. Oh yeah, I'm pretty sure her ultimate should expect a nerf soon. What kind of an AD champ does 1700 damage with an ult? Stupid. and those who probably make a lot (HotshotGG) I'm pretty sure that all the big streamers of LOL make quite a considerable amount of money from ads. 2000-12,000 streamers is a huge amount of revenue.

Generally when doing these calculations, you need to account for ad-block. I believe the figure Twitch gives to its partners for estimation purposes is 50%+. Ezreal: 650 + 1.0 AD + 0.9 AP per target, slightly decreasing per target. Kog'Maw: 400 +0.5 AD + 0.3 AP per target and shot, 1 second cooldown. MF: Max: 1000 + 3.6 AD + 1.6 AP per target. Each of those can deal a good 2000 damage with their ults. Ok, it's magic damage. But Fiora is melee.

She not only gets a massive amount of unavoidable damage, but it doubles as a way to let your other CDs come back up and to force anything that wants to attack you to afk and take free damage or to split their damage onto another target. A bit of lucky timing on its use can also avoid quite a bit of damage in the case of a missed skillshot. This is a classic case of an ability doing too much for too little.

Well it's shortranged and has no CC. Also afaik she only becomes untargetable, not invulnerable.

Even something like Rivens Ult slash can kill Fiora during her ult. Likewise Fiddlesticks drain wont cancel if you ult him while he channels And Fizz pole just stops your ult from working at all ><
