Here, Durrhurr, since your name seems to show your reading comprehension skills, let me snip out the actually relevant portion of that chatlog.
DURRHURRDERP: jinglehell if you're unsure of what to build why didnt you ask someone on your team DURRHURRDERP: ? DURRHURRDERP: instead of getting defensive when people look at your items after the game and tell you its bad (after the fact) JingleHell: because my team decided to troll me at the start by telling me go AP JingleHell: so why the hell would i ask questions MCMilo: LOL kerrDOG2 X17: rofl MCMilo: WHAT MCMilo: LOL JingleHell: when they mention it was a joke last second kerrDOG2 X17: umad MCMilo: :< JingleHell: ticklish told me that shit during select, milo JingleHell: so yeah JingleHell: would you ask after that?
When you've mentioned during pre-game and team select that you're basically a fucking noob because you haven't played in forever, if people are going to troll your ass about how to build, yeah, ignoring them makes a lot of sense. Rocket science much?
You're just helping make my point.
And if it's unsolicited advice starting with the words "What the hell" you might just need to work on your technique a little bit. People don't always react well to that.

You're not really saying you thought AP varus was serious advice?

Somebody need to pull up 5HIT's Rant from Riot's forum lol.

I thought either they knew something I didn't, or it was serious trolling. Or did you miss the several dozen times in the past couple of pages where I admit I'm essentially a noob?

If you want, I wouldn't mind running some 1v1s just for some practise. I need it quite a bit as well, as I've only played support since level 1. Figure that we could look up builds on Solomid, and give them a shot laning against each other while practising mechanics.
EDIT: The plus side to just rolling 1v1, is that whenever either of you concedes, you can just end the game and start fresh without the feeling of getting rolled over and over. It never gets to the point where someone looks at you and you die, because at that point the game is lost, and you just restart to help both of the players improve.
|
Honestly if you're losing lane so quickly that you can only get 30 cs with no outside intervention you need to take a look at what you're doing wrong. From what I hear, you're losing lane before 5 minutes in a 1v1 without any jungler assistance on either side. That shouldn't happen without the other guy cheesing you. The purpose of the teamhouse is to practice but doesn't help if your fundamentals aren't solid yet.

You can add me under this name if you want. I'm done gaming for tonight, though.
I have a pretty solid idea of how to build Varus now, just got to practice him and see which skill build I prefer overall between damage output, farming, and zoning.

You admit you're a noob but at the same time you refuse to ask questions or take critique from better players. What do you hope to get from these games?
Also it's hard to take you seriously when you post stuff like this earlier:

Oh, and I'm tired of getting told to "ask for advice". Advice isn't going to help with bad mechanics, which is by far my biggest problem. I last hit for shit, and I overextend a hair trying to last hit. That's shit where you need time practicing it to improve. Not time spent dead.
If you're unsure that AP Varus is a troll build or not, bad mechanics isn't your biggest problem.

JingleHell: so yeah, maybe I could spend twelve hours learning the entire current metagame, or I could try to have fun by playing
That quote bothered me a little. Because if you took the time to look through this thread. You could have easily found Role: AD. All you needed to do was to drop a message in the patch thread and someone probably would have direct you to it within one hour. I mean it takes really about one hour at most to get a general overview of AD. And watching some videos on solomid should give you a decent idea on what to do. I dont think a hour commitment is that bad before jumping yourself into games.

Actually, plenty of people (the ones who give advice that doesn't start with the phrase "what the hell") don't think I'm like that at all.
And the ones who don't troll me don't have trouble getting me to ask questions. Sounds like you're just prejudging based off of one case without taking the whole story into account.

LiquidPractice: we know drama.
We couldn't go a month without falling apart? Sad.

actualy both hur and i were in that game (barackopala) and your attitude towards other players hasn't been too polite.
One of your biggest issues when playing is your runes/masteries setup, it's a real mess that doesn't give you any kind of advantage. Your second flaw is related to your CS, keep in mind you're a carry, and to do that, you need $.
Last, regard your attitude towards teammates is not good, not insulting is a must, but communicating is vital to the game, that's why some players may avoid you for practice.
Sometimes the fault isnt on your surroundings but in you, keep your mentality pointing towards getting better, that means you'll have to be on the look for feedback while being patient, answers will not pop out of nowhere.
|
Jingle, I feel like you can communicate better and need to work on not getting your feelings hurt quite as much. I remember the first time I played with you. I picked a support after you picked Varus. You weren't last hitting in lane at all and basically feeding the enemy team. I asked you multiple things in team chat and you failed to respond. I thought you spoke no english and were trolling the hell out of us. I had no idea you were a relative beginner to the game. Perhaps I didn't handle myself that well, but I don't think you did either. You basically called me an asshole and then were like "want to see me feed" and derp into enemy team. That's just as unjustifiable behavior as people saying dickish things to you.
Basically I think we're all in the wrong a bit but Jingle is also in the wrong a bit as well, and we can all improve our social and gaming skills together to have a good gaming experience. Jingle, I think these games are good for you, because I've definitely seen a definite improvement over the first times I've seen you play. Hope you stick around for more games in the future.

We couldn't go a month without falling apart? Sad. woah dont take it that far of an asumption, one player issue due to his narrow mentality doesn't mean it's falling appart, i've met some nice people. It might feel like a nightmare for an unranked player to play against 1600+ but it's a great way to improve when you get feedback.

I wish I had this when I was starting out :3 We had like 1 inhouse and ezpz just shit on kids with bugged Ezreal and then evreyone raged at each other and it fell apart. This has a lot of support behind it so I doubt 1 person will make it fall apart.

Was a good learning experience.

I've had a great time with LiquidPractice. I don't always do well but the after game debriefing is usually helpful, as the 1800+ players give out advice that I can follow. Most people are manner and the group is fairly active. I'm not sure if I've actually gotten any better but it's definitely been a fun experience. Sad to hear other people not having as good a time with it

I wasn't paying much attention to chat that game, and I think I may have looked at the box at all the wrong times and basically only seen where you said shit that wasn't exactly conducive to a conversation. If I try to stop and type, it's not going to help my CS much.
And yeah, if people get pissy with me, I'll get pissy back. I just tend to be pragmatic about the demonstration. So yeah, when you called me a feeder, I suggested I could really feed. My temper gets away from me sometimes, but I'm fairly certain that 99% of people in this conversation trying to say they don't have that problem would be laughable.
But yeah, I'm not really used to typing to chat in games. Most games, if I'm trying to communicate, I use some sort of voice chat. Unless my kid is going insane in the background, or not wanting to go to sleep.

We couldn't go a month without falling apart? Sad. This is how we operate. We have to accept that people have egos and are going to get hurt. It's a part of the system. We are controlling it the best we can, but we're mainly all young males who don't know each other and have egos of varying sizes. Embrace the fights, we work through them.

Ezpz gave me specific advice on how to last hit/harass/zone with an ADC in a series of 1v1s MF vs Ashe playing both sides and it's basically the only thing I ever needed to learn when playing ADC. God, I miss the old days.

A decent chunk of the inhouses I've played the past few days have been less than fulfilling. I'm not try harding my balls off, but when 1-2 of your teamates are clearly fucking around with stupid shit it gets old reeeeeally fast. Most of you should be able to figure out if it's you or know of whom I speak.
If you want to learn a brand new champ or do some stupid ass build go troll in blind pick normals instead of wasting the time of people who are genuinely looking for decent game/company. It doesn't mean you have to tryhard with your best pick every game or ultra-counter your opponent's picks, but basically throwing the game if you're against a decent lane opponent is insulting to those who genuinely were interested in a good game of sorts.
Nobody has to apologize; people don't have to start playing supr srs all the time, but a little bit of courtesy toward everybody else in this regard would be nice.
