got a simple question about jungling. If my enemy jungler invades my red while i am killing it early game, i run away due to having lower hp and return later to find my red buff stolen. What should i do in these situations?

Ping it and get your team to collapse and kill the fucker.

Also in season 2, resists were much more used than HP stacking like now. I rarely see armor in my games, just players with 5k - 6k health. Yeah, but those calculations assumed that you could just literally sit there and autoattack for the entire duration without having to kite around. This is especially important when talking about Vayne because if Vayne doesn't get her W proc then the entire calculation becomes meaningless. Yeah, but with 2 PDs, you get your proc off within just over a second. And in pro-games, I see Vayne get her 3 attacks off more often than not. Even if you are kiting, you're hitting the same target. And in my games, I very rarely have to switch targets before getting at least one proc off. Also on Leaguepedia it says that BotrK out damages BT if the enemy has 3k health. Which is basically everyone.| I'm not sure if the people responding to me have actually tried it, or are just theorying it. In practice it feels much stronger than it does on paper for me. But maybe that's just my elo Does BOTRK do damage based on current hp? Which means as soon as you start attacking them and they fall below 3k hp then having a BT is better Per hit, it's more like 1.5k HP (so you'd be doing more damage from 100% to 0 on a >3k health target). BT also can crit, the added damage from BOTRK can't. BT adds more AD for your casted abilities as well, BOTRK does not. BOTRK has a really nifty malphite-Q-style active though, good for kiting or sticking. which does 150+50% of total AD phys damage. I think it would only make sense on an ADC if you're doing a (slightly weird) crit-free build such as a BOTRK/hurricane Kog'maw? It sounds nicer on Jax and other autoattack/AS reliant bruisers, who are unlikely to be including crit in their builds.
If you're relying in any significant way on crit, don't touch BOTRK - they'd literally need almost 5k health for an ADC with 55% (IE + PD) crit to benefit more from BOTRK than BT. Also, BOTRK is relatively mediocre early game so it's TERRIBLE to rush the item. Again, awkward for AD carries who are looking for a big damage item as their first buy, then looking to add in stats that multiply it.
Now, there's this "BOTRK is only good when its your only offensive item" thing going around - that's not true. BOTRK synergizes fine with these stats: AD, Armor Pen, AS. That's everything EXCEPT crit, and AD-ratio abilities (though, it does grant you an additional AD-ratio ability.)
As far as the PD v LW question, I believe everything still stands there. The thing is, armor pen stacks differently (mostly better) now, so some of those calculations need to be redone. PD got nerfed, while LW got indirectly buffed due to armor pen changes - but for ADCs with no flat armor pen (e.g. Kog or Vayne going 17/13/0 instead of 21/whatever)
PD + Shiv is probably better than 2x PD anyway, but that's a gut feeling I'm having - if you're worried about not being able to stand still and get the maximum dps, Shiv rewards you for moving more, and it even benefits from the PD's crit. That makes it look like a final build of IE PD Shiv BT [defensive item] boots on kog/vayne.
Champs I'd be willing to build botrk on as a core item: Fiora Jax Zed (Need to math out full burst of this including active vs BT with just normal abilities when using the ulti. Zed math is weird.)
The following are "Situational, if I want a lifesteal-offensive item?" Rengar Nasus (Assuming Q critting is a bug and gets fixed) Irelia Olaf Xin Zhao Nocturne (Can I really afford a 3k offensive item? The active seems really nice on him, though.) Trundle AD Yi GP (Prefer Hydra, though) AD Nidalee Volibear
I'm kinda surprised the list went that long, actually. Basically I went down the list asking "does this character autoattack (on-hit abilities count) for a significant portion of their damage, but not build crit?"
I think the one I'm most excited to build it on is AD Nid.

Don't let them just take it!
Ofc in solo queue mass pings is recommended.
Also real food talk lol

If a normal dueling would be somewhat close you can try and bait him close to the buff so he gets the aggro, with how leashing works now in s3 you can make it so instead of getting attacked while the buff is wailing on you and thus having to run, you make the buff switch on the intruder and create your own ganging on him situation.
Also ^. I found that it doesn't always work though.

They screw you over by not coming to help, they get to pay for it.
Edit: or just play a strong Duelist like Lee and never worry about getting jungle stolen because you just go kill him.

Pass over to your blue side without being seen in midlane. Move through the river and take his red buff while he is busy with yours. Make sure that mid and top are visible in lane. When taking the buff pull it into the small bush next to the buff. Should mid or top leave their lane, leave and if necessary flash into the baron/dragon pit (depending which side you're on). If your health drops so low, that the enemy jungler is able to catch you at his red buff and kill you instantly, you need to readjust your runes/masteries.

I don't think they would get baited that easily. Just to clarify, it is usually me on purple side as nocturne and opponent jungler as master yi when this happens. I can't imagine them stealing red on the blue side because of its close location with mid. Now i'm starting to understand what clg meant when they blamed purple side.

Omg no, I am just gonna get flamed badly if i talk back. The mindset that people have in soloqueue is that you are responsible for your role. That is, if you are top and your losing your lane, it's your own fault. Likewise for mid and bot. In the jungler's case, it's your duty to occasionally gank lanes and give blue buff to mid. Not doing so means your not a good jungler.

If you're really worried about red getting stolen, get someone to place a ward at red when you start blue. Depending on the champ, you can either start with one (Nunu or Fiddle, for instance), or go Utility deep enough for the starting one, or convince your support to throw one there. Then, if you see them going for your red, you can either contest it or go to theirs. Knowledge is power.

Not doing so means your not a good jungler. Warn them in champ select if they have a jungler capable of doing this to you. As long as you're careful enough with your wording, they shouldn't take it too badly, and then they can't tell you haven't warned them once they don't movve. "Hey Xs is stronger than me at level 2, so if he invades my red I'll need your help or I'll be too behind to gank often afterwards. Plus he's easy to kill and/or if he flashes out he'll be a level behind."
When I'm mid I always drop my explorer ward in the enemy wraith bush at around 1:20 if I know they'll start blue, because it tells me if they get a smiteless and rush their red. I often fail to see them before it expires though so I can't infer a "I don't see them so they level 2 gank", but if I wait too much they'll have less help at wolves. Maybe I should just let top/bot help at wolves, and drop my explorer ward later so I can be sure.

Is it a known bug that sometimes enemies appear on totally different spots on the minimap than they actually are? For example today I had this enemy Jungle xin lanegank bot and before he was shown @ bot on the minimap he was apparently @their wraiths for 1 1/2 seconds ( a spot we didn't have vision at that point) before it rightfully switched to bot.
This is the only particular case I remember it happening because it was a few games ago but I'm sure it happens quite frequently.
|
Yes, that bug happens pretty frequently and is pretty annoying.
|
Yes. It's been around for awhile too. Though now I take it as a warning when I see an icon flash on my minimap "the jungler's gonna appear somewhere soon", it doesn't matter where he flashed since he'll appear somewhere else anyway.

Man the AD spirit stone item is ridiculously good on champions with a spammable AOE ability. The amount of damage it adds in a teamfight on someone like hecarim or skarner with its passive true damage DoT component is bonkers. Today I built it on maokai lol. Lulz were had.

I love building it on Hec, so satisfying. Yeah it's pretty strong right now so we'll see how Riot handles it. Since it's limited to Junglers it's hard to say if people will notice how strong it is. Although if people start building the AP Spirit Stone item on Mid laners I expect Riot to nerf it because "it wasn't their goal with the item" or something like that.
