'Summoning Insight' is a regular League of Legends talk show, hosted by Duncan "Thorin" Shields and Christopher "MonteCristo" Mykles. The show is produced for OnGamers.
The two hosts, along with occasional guests, discuss topics of interest to hardcore enthusiasts of the professional League of Legends scene. Spanning all of the major competitive regions, the show takes its cues from topical themes to inform the in-depth discussions each episode revolves around.
The show is now streamed live at twitch.tv/ongamers.
I'll update this thread each time a new episode is released.

Episode 1:
fnatic's struggles, nRated's influence on SK, KT B's fall and EDG as China's new hope.
Episode 2:
All-Star Invitational and an in-depth discussion of ROCCAT.
Episode 3:
IEM World Championship breakdown (KT B, Gambit, fnatic, Cloud9) and SKT K vs. NaJin Shield from Masters

This deserves a bump or at least some attention/discussion/views. I would say Monte talks a little bit too much about CLG (in ep 1) IMO when you guys could be giving us some great insight into the Eastern regions where we're really lacking any info on. The stuff about that misc ADC being made to play Kog over and over was great!

Definitely a cool show, also really looking forward to the next episode (TSM! TSM! TSM! *coughcough*). I don't really have a lot to say right now, so I will just keep it short and say: thank you for doing all of this great stuff and content, keep it up :D

you guys can take some suggestions for topics on tl. ep3 best so far imo, but then i don't really follow eu lcs so half hte content not very relevant for me lol.

Pretty much exactly what I've wanted in a League show. Only thing left to be desired is more elaboration sometimes when a point is presented, although most of the time it is implied anyways. Can't wait to hear a more international perspective on TSM next show!

I hope they start bringing in a guest shortly like they intended, if anything to spice it up for 15 minutes or so. I like the show, but it gets pretty group thinky and as a result they don't seem to explain their assertions enough.

Oh I didn't know there was a thread for this. I really loved the episodes so far, although I think you guys should bring someone in to challenge you a little (even if it's just a devil's advocate kind of thing), it would probably make it even better.
This seems to go against any image that Thorin has of the League scene, but I enjoy the KR topics a lot more personally, which made episode 3 the most enjoyable one yet.

As for the comment on the relative positions of WeiXiao, PraY, imp, and Doublelift during season 2, I would guess the comment was taken from someone like Locodoco guessing from the player pool, and the way the comparisons were phrased. The thing is though, people sometimes think outclassing the likes of Woong, Cpt Jack, or Yellowpete gives you enough credit to be the best of that era, when the fact was that any world class AD carry was capable of doing so. PraY literally had bans targeted against him because Azubu Blaze couldn't handle his Ezreal, but that isn't saying much since Cpt Jack was famous for being a mediocre laner. I'm struggling to come up with any encounters where a high caliber AD carry player was heavily out-performed by another player, but ideally that should be the basis upon which these kind of rankings should be made. Not by how much they slayed Woong during the laning phase.
I'm guessing the relative placings were based on the assumption that Doublelift would never have had the success PraY enjoyed if he was in his position due to PraY being more cerebral in his playstyle than Doublelift. However, I think even if we were to assume that PraY was superior to Doublelift individually as a player (I could see arguments for both sides), I'm not sure if he could be placed so loftily right next to WeiXiao. He was more than capable of carrying against mediocre opposition, but when push came to shove, he struggled quite a bit versus Bebe, who was one of the more renowned AD carries of the era. I would be interested to know how Eastern Asian AD carries such as Bebe, GoDJJ, WeiXiao, Devil, and PraY performed against one another whether it be online scrims or tournaments, then we could really get into the discussion of who placed above whom, and how North American and European AD carries measured up against them.

with doublelift i think it's clear that his mechanics si good enough, but he is in an environment that does not always allow for him to learn and grow as a player to the best of his capacity. that he's famous for dumb macro decisions for a long time yet didn't really change his ways shows this pretty much.
korean ad's don't necessarily perform in competition according to their mechanical or innate talent. a team's training of their adc and how he fits into the team has a lot to do with how they do in tourneys as well.

When's the next episode of this? =(

I know I post this every time you post here Thorin but with the length of your shows it would be so much easier for me to check them all out if you would make mp3 format available.

I really enjoyed this episode. It's great when you disagree. Your discussion and specifically Monte's prediction for Ozone vs T1 K was also nice to hear in retrospect.

Episode 5 will feature Alliance's Froggen and be streamed live on Monday at 4:30pm PDT/7:30pm EDT/1:30am CEST.

Those are really fun to watch .
Surprised monte didn't just straight up say "yeah my team choked".I mean they don't need to fix their shotcalling they need to get some confidence or find a sport psychologist like sk.The trend with clg has always been that they choke in important games and it continues to be so even with 4 different players.

I keep forgetting we have this topic. Most people on reddit complained about lack of macro strategy talk on a show that has both Monte and Froggen and in fact it felt a lot like a co-hosted Reflections episode. I wonder if that was conscious decision on show's direction made by Thorin, Monte not taking initiative or Monte wanting to save his analysis stuff for his own show. I know not all people on TL like Monte's analysis, but I have no idea where else to look for this kind of league coverage.
