I know this is beta and we're only playing non-ranked games etc but is it just me or does a loss not feel that bad anymore? It may change with time but I think one of the big reason for this is the fast games. It's a blast from start to finish and is almost no downtime at all.
It may also have to do with how the games play out. I don't think I have played a single game where both went macro-mode and and we finished the game in a single fight after 10-15 min.
It's also good to know that if I lose I don't have to start a new game where I spend 5 min doing the same normal early game.
Or am I alone here? Sometimes it feels when I read the forum that many dislike to start with 12 workers, but I think it's the best thing that ever happen and I actually want to play more than 1-2 games now.

Hmm, i get what you are saying, but in my opinion this makes the game really hectical from the very beginning, which i really dislike, the first few minutes of the games are like a warming up phase i think in hots and this is missing for me in lotv... even after a few games it starts to fast for me

its not just you, blizzard said they patched it.

It's right there in the notes:
Fixed an issue where games would sometimes cause players to rage.

I get what you are saying and I have sometimes felt it to be overwhelmingly frustrating to start a new game after a streak of losses for that exact reason, that I have to start building everything from a scratch again and it's going to take so long.
I really like the general way Blizzard is going with this expansion. The 12 workers is maybe a bit too much though, I would go with 9 starting workers as 12 just feels... weird.

Patch notes:
- Game was changed from "unfun" to "fun" - You now start with 20 workers and two bases.

I disagree, it's just a matter of time before it ends up feeling exactly the same. Played like 3 games yesterday and lost all of them to protoss BS. Not fun at all!
|
Why would you feel bad for losing a game in unranked?
EDIT : OMG I MESSED UP AND WASTED MY 6K POST LOL

How did you possibly lose to protoss in this?
|
Still new to lotv, played like 10 games max

I think betas are more fun than the actual game itself. It's new, undiscovered, and a wider variety of builds are viable.
Edit: So, because the game is more fun, losses aren't as stress inducing which is why you don't care about them as much.

I feel like any wins and losses are purely for fun, there is no real sense of "competition" on an unranked beta, everything is new, anything and everything is different build and game flow wise. It's almost as if it's a battle of pure improvisation sine nobody really knows the optimal ways to play.
I hardly even see Koreans, If I ever have do any Koreans stream LOTV? I feel like all I see is people like Lowko and Fenner who have really cool streams but they aren't exactly high level players.
That being said when people cheese those losses make me a bit salty, it's the beta, let's use the new units and try stuff out, why you cannon rush me, go cannon rush on ranked ladder or something T___T

Pretty much this
Rip protoss rofl.
Although apparently stasis on peoples minerals is viable? rofl. I need to try this more.

It feels like there's a lot more going on in every lotv game than there is in hots. This could be due to the fact that no builds are really figured out but I'm having a lot more fun in lotv than I ever have in hots, and I liked hots for the most part.

They revamped the economy and starting workers so every cheese is different now; when would u like people to test the new cheeses? I'd rather learn to defend new cheese builds now than when the game is released.
