None of the units it produces are fun or fun to play against. Hahahaha what? Can we scratch out all the units I think are unfun to play against, too? Protoss has a couple of those. Sure, I would rather have a game with interesting unit interactions.
I respect your impartiality, sir, but we find ourselves at far too late a juncture for such talk.

I think it's the maps, not the units. I know: the maps are balanced for the game and game units; however, doesn't the game also include the player? In other words, players will adjust to new styles of "unbalanced" maps.
It's just a different factor.

I agree, I think the maps kind of are made so its not extremely easy to mech, which is a good thing!

Hi again guys,
sorry but most of you have no clue how mech should be played or about the state of mech at the moment (also it is viable against protoss and it was in hots also). The new economey is absolutly fine for mech it is no con for mech. Liberators are a really great support unit for mech even for tanks. The only thing we need is a strong ground to air unit and a small tank buff. A strong anti air unit would be the goliath. Can you explain why the pathing wouldnt work for the Goliath in SCII?

It wasn't viable in hots in tvp mech-and it shows in highest levels.mech tvp is largely a surprise factor really.
And isn't the lack of solid disposable G2A the discussion here? That along with small tank buff is exactly what people are talking about.

I don't think mech is viable, everytime I scout a terran going mech I just think it's gonna be a free win

Mech is really weak right now in LOTV, which is really disheartening because this expansion literally introduces a factory unit and that factory unit (cyclone) has zero impact on every game right now.
I understand they were OP at the start of the beta, but at least they could kill things, and air units especially.
Now if you go mech you basically auto-lose to brood/viper or mass carriers. Well, mass liberators can deal with carriers kind of sort of but it's still not a counter, it just kills the interceptors. Not to mention it's a problem in itself that carriers/liberators both lead to both players massing air units. Same with brood/viper.

Hi,
mech was viable against toss in hots look at HTO Mario and Goody.....
@ avilo you are right in Lotv it is very hard to play mech but i will try it in every game. Blizzard will buff the cyclone again (the only problem is that most of the People want the Goliath back, me 2 buy the way). Also remember that SC II will be improved after BETA is over!
And to all People here: Mech play can become a viable style and can be improved even if the siege tank doesnt get a buff. Protoss ground is not the problem it is sky toss (which will be nerved). Against zerg it can be hard against vipers but ist possible to win.
Guys pls dont argue so onesided you only know the biostyles i know mech is special but it can be a viable style if it gets some small buffs like G2A....

It's pretty weak, if not unplayable in TvP. Protoss just closes the gap with charge and adepts and blink or goes air to begin with. TvZ I think it's a little bit more active (=more fun; possibly stronger) in the midgame than in HotS because liberators and tank drops are some alternatives to banshee pressure and rushing thors for antiair. But once vipers are on the field mech is done and even without parasitic bomb zerg has gotten some serious buffs to broodlords, ultras and zerglings and the raven got a serious nerf. The maps also do their best to make the style very weak in all 3matchups.
