Call me a stupid a-moving Protoss if you wish, but...
I've had a couple of games in PvZ in which I lost major engagements simply by mismicroing units (my favourite: blinking stalkers into lurkers instead of sending there a disruptor nova). Any tips regarding control groups and army control with disruptors? Such as, 1-main army 2-stalkers 3-disruptors? I'm setting aside special cases such as harassment groups/harassing oracles/similar units.
I used to have three army control groups in HotS (generally: 1-army, 2-MSC or stalkers, 3-sentries or HT) and reserved 4-5 for harassment such as warp prism or oracle. I'm trying to find out a similar solutions for LotV.

It's hard man.
I lost a game because i accidentally set off 2 disruptors and killed my own army.
Maybe you can group your HT with your army since Storm overrides any other ability in there. At least vs Terran i don't think you need Stalkers on their own control group anymore (in fact I don't think you should make Stalkers vs T).
So maybe you go 1 Army + HT, 2 MSC, 3 Disruptors, 4 Warp Prism?
I'm bad at the game and I use 2 for Nexus (trying to move it, but it's too engrained). So usually I'll use 1 for Army+HT, 3 for Warp Prism, and click the disruptors one by one.

Disruptor are too Strong if u can micro them (Master and GM). Just Sayin ^^

Yeah, I know their strenght from experience, after accidentallyblowing up half of my adepts. Not so easy to micro them at Platinum level though
The army+HT on one hotkey sounds OK. I'm binding my nexi to ctrl+g (group 0) so they won't interfere.
Ah, all those years spent just a-moving...

If ur not high u can use the F2 Key aswell for the Whole army and 1/2 Key for the Core Units like Disruptor and templars.

It tickles me to see the other races scratching their heads in those moments when friendly fire ends the game, hahaha! But in all seriousness, I feel your pain. It's only a matter of time before Marines get friendly fire and a global warning every time one is trained.
Jokes aside--I play Terran, OP--but maybe my hotkey setup will help, because Terran sometimes needs a dumb amount of hotkeys.
0 = CC's 1 = primary army 2 = marines and marauders 3 = ghosts 4 = mode units, like mines or liberators 5 = harass group 1 6 = harass group 2 (but this is rarely used) 7 = Starport 8 = Factory 9 = Barracks
But this all changes depending on the composition. Basically, you just need to get into the habit of having a primary army hotkey, but then having each unit type with an activated ability on its own hotkey, and it gets tough.
IDEA I've floated this before, but for some reason it doesn't get traction. If I have a selection with multiple spellcasters (any activated ability), why the fuck do I have to make a sub selection to get access to their abilities? Just give me a HUD with all of the activated abilities on it.
It's at the point now where if you misfire any of the important abilities (all of them) you don't just lose the fight decisively, you lose the game.

This.
I've lost so many games because my Disruptors died while i was trying to activate barrier and cast forcefields or (and this actually happened) 10+ HT died to ONE widow mine because I was busy microing the disruptor shots and didn't move them back in time.
This over-reliance on activated abilities has made mismicroing anything basically game ending.
Which means now's as good a time as ever to work on hotkeys...

Control groups should be what's most comfortable to you (everyone keys differently) and as you get better start adding more and more.
As a general rule though you should have 1 hotkey for your main army, one for your warp prism, one for HT and one for Disruptors by themselves.
An example I use the following:
1 - main army 2 - Disruptors (flex until then) 3 - HT's 4 - Warp prism 5 - Nexus 3rd mouse button - Oracles ~ - MSC

A lot of pros only use 2 control groups for common units, like 1 and 2, then 3-5 for buildings, then 6,7, for harass or oddball units like observers or MSC.
You can also change the activation hotkey of disruptor nova to some key that isn't as easy to mix up with another ability. Like E instead of V.
Looking back at the OP, I would get MSC off of 2... put it on 8,9 or 0 or rebind the "~" button for it. Put your disruptors on 2. MSC is something you only hotkey once or twice a game, so it doesn't need to be as convenient.
Disruptors can win or lose games, so it must be easy to get to.
