Shortly after Hearthstone released, Blizzard did a poll asking what aspects of the gameplay we’d like them to work on next – new cards, more deck slots, new game boards, new heroes, etc. Considering Co-op missions just released, this seems like a good time for a poll to gauge community interest in additions to the feature. If there’s something the mode particularly needs, perhaps we can rally some community support for it in a way that will be visible to Blizzard.
Poll: Which feature would you like to see added to co-op missions first?New missions (206) 76% A new, harder difficulty mode (28) 10% New commanders (17) 6% Adjust existing content (rebalance and redesign maps, difficulty modes, heroes, etc.) (7) 3% Raised level cap with new abilities (6) 2% Other (explain in comments) (6) 2% 270 total votes Your vote: Which feature would you like to see added to co-op missions first? (Vote): New missions (Vote): New commanders (Vote): Raised level cap with new abilities (Vote): A new, harder difficulty mode (Vote): Adjust existing content (rebalance and redesign maps, difficulty modes, heroes, etc.) (Vote): Other (explain in comments)
In the comments section, discuss the following: What types of new missions or commanders would you like to see? What abilities should existing commanders have past level 15? How should a new, harder difficulty mode work? How would you like existing content adjusted?

I thought coop missions will be somewhere about 10-15 (or even 20). They're just reused campaign maps with simple scenarios. I don't understand why we have so few missions... only 5? Really.
There are so many awesome ideas:
- WOL - Left 2 Die (Outbreak) mission adaptation - WOL - Zero Hour, another defend mission - WOL - The_Evacuation, evacuate civilians while protecting from Amon's zergs - WOL - Smash and Grab - you with your ally trying to contest Amon's forces, who are trying to reach the artifact - WOL - The Dig, protect the Drakken Lazer from Amon's forces while it drills the door - WOL - Supernova, just an awesome mission that may be hard to adapt for zergs and protoss. So maybe add many mineral and gas crates so it will be easy to rebuild bases? - WOL - Maw of the Void - destroy heavily fortified Amon's base. Keep the idea with Rip-Field Generators. - WOL - Welcome to the Jungle mission. Same idea, collect Terrazine (3 times one player, 3 times other player).
Maybe add some new missions? But that may take longer time to develop...

They probably need to find more reason for replayability once you've leveled all of the characters to the max level and you have all the achievements. Stuff like this get consumed really quickly by this community.

Considering the biggest criticism I've heard is that it's too easy, even on brutal difficulty, and the second-biggest criticism is that it feels like too much of a grind to level up, personally I think the best change would be:
More bonus objectives!
The easiest way would be to include a lot of these in new missions, but I'd like it if more bonus objectives were added to existing missions, too. And particularly hard ones. I don't know exactly what that looks like, but it should be possible. Current objectives are generally sending you to another spot on the map to kill a thing, but what about needing to kill two things in different parts of the map, with a fairly short time limit? Or just finishing the main objective in a shorter time limit?
Point is, instead of making people pick a difficulty option and get frustrated by not being able to do it, it seems a much more organic approach to difficulty to put in additional difficult bonus objectives, so that better players can be rewarded for being able to accomplish more.

The missions they have right now get SO repetitive. There's like two or three of them that I can't even distinguish based on starting positions. The train one is the only cool one. Stopping the protoss ships isn't too bad either I guess..

They're talking about doing DLC story campaigns. Do you think they'll coordinate to release co-op commanders with those DLCs? Like, they release the Nova story DLC, and if you buy it you get Nova as a playable commander?

What it needs imo is new maps designed specifically for co op

I think the danger is that with some comps, you may not be able to beat it if you make it too much harder. While Vorazun+anything or artanis+zagara/raynor is pretty nuts, Zagara+not artanis basically relies on her ally to be competent after being the strongest early - midgame commander because her army gets shredded lategame.
I would like more variety in both mission type and length. The current max length is alright(~26 minutes on a bunch), but maybe some around the 15-20 minute mark, some that have 2-3 expansions, escort missions, and god forbid, maybe a multistage mission?

I would like to see faster game speeds

What's nice about bonus objectives, though, is if it's too hard to get a bonus objective with a particular composition, then you just didn't get it. No big deal. If they add a mega-brutal difficulty it wouldn't be surprising if certain teams couldn't compete – you might even get people leaving games when they get matched as Kerrigan/Zagara or something – but with bonus objectives, then maybe you don't get the extra XP. Big deal!

We need more MAPS!
Also I'd like to play this defend the temple mission with 3/4 players so everyone can defend one path

I´d like to able to use the Commanders in multiplayer, just like Command and Conquer Generals - Zero Hour.

I would love to have small randomized bonus objectives that only sometimes show up (something like treasure goblins in Diablo 3). The rewards for these could be like a skin, unit, or bonus mission (for coop mode). This would make it feel like I'm at least earning something for playing.

I feel like Brutal can be challenging for players that aren't amazing or have amazing partners. Hell, Hard can be challenging in those initial waves. I've tried all of the difficulties and seen people never build a single worker, make nothing but zealots and gateways, etc. What they should do is take some maps and just make them real challenging. Maybe even require lvl 15 hero to play on them and have at least two types: 'how long can you last' and 'how fast can you complete the main objective'. Give those two a leaderboard so people can be competitive and defense or offense skills and compositions.
Aside from that, for those of us not skilled enough to make Brutal a cakewalk, even at 15, I'd say the number priority in general should be more maps. "Easy" Brutal can still be fun if it is something different and there are a lot of real neat campaign missions that can be used, as a lot of people have posted. Some of these new/challenge maps could even implement randomness such as only being able to make 1-2 types of units per Commander, with a composition that can still win (no observers vs cloak would be bad), but make it a bit more challenging. Alternatively, Commander 1 maps where you start and always remain at level 1 with your level 1 abilities. Imagine MOBA style missions where you control the individual heroes and their powers to plow through the levels like Artanis/Kerrigan's mission, Karax/Phoenix, etc. There's so much they can do with this, I think it can be a huge draw.

As someone who's pretty much soloed brutal on every map, I don't think the difficulty is the biggest issue, it's a sense of progression and diversity in the maps and objectives. There should be ways to reset or build upon your commander post level 15, even if it's just cosmetic; and there should be more maps and larger maps. Plenty of campaign maps already pose as very good candidates, just take existing campaign mechanics and integrate them into co-op.

I've been playing on hard and it feels like the game speed is set to fast instead of faster. I wanna relax but not watch dragoons move that slowly. If it's actually on faster and they're still that slow, then they need a speed buff.
|
Faster playing speed PLEASE
|
3 player coop maps. Or some maps with 3 base. But new maps would be nice. And maybe some endless wave ones. But its free content, you don't even need LotV to play it (only the harder commanders are locked in that case). So I can imagine the team working on this is really small.
Oh and this will probably become a get the guys back to LotV feature, so they will trickle in small updates every patch. So we should better learn patience haha.
|
Faster playing speed (it is normal or?) + more missions. No reason to lvl my commander behind lvl 10 or so and never play another, cause you saw everything to see.
|
Existor brought up several WoL maps that make good candidates. Any from HotS or LotV that jump out at anyone as "hey, this should be in co-op"?
