Smart cast vs normal cast is pretty much preference, lots of ppl argue smartcast is better and pros use it but its more or less equal numbers on each side. I main mid so I'll list some pro mid players cast preferences:
Ambition-normal cast (it was rumored earlier that even with ryze he normal casts so korean community thinks he has mad fast fingers)
HooN- both/depends on champion/spell (usually depends on spell so on one champion certain spells he smartcasts and others he normal casts, ryze- all smart)
Apdo (korean solo q superstar) - normal (he normal casts everything but he is very fast, instant kass rqe combo, zed wqe combo, etc)
pobelter- both at the same time uses default (shiftqwer for smartcast and qwer for normal, different from HooN because every champion he uses the default setting and choooses between smartcast or normal casting a spell depending on the situation)
scarra - smart
most 3/kt rookie- smart
gankedbymom - smart
I use both in HooN's fashion that depends on spell like all ultimates I normal cast (lux r, rumble, tf, gragas,) but smartcast TF q, all leblanc spells, ori all normal cast, ahri- smart, but i mainly use normal cast to measure skillshots except lux,ori which i exclusively use normal cast so ppl like HooN and I always have to fidget with the keybind settings every game we play a different champion (thank god for that patch with the keybinding option change made things much easier to change at the start of every game) I play in low diamond 1.

The CD on level 1 blue and red trinkets just seem silly high to me at this point. 180 sec CD ward removal when the entire enemy team has 120 sec CD explorer wards is just no good. At level nine the red trinket's CD is literally halved to 90 seconds though which makes it very strong. I think you are better off pinking and ambushing them when they go to clear it if your really need a way to hit a lane early.
I will change my opinion a bit I think on lee the ward trinket is the best one. However the most common distribution I see is 3-4 ward trinkets and 1-2 sweepers (changing a bit for example against teemo I would pick 3-4 sweepers) the CV trinket is in my opinion completly useless, way too short duration and way too long cd. Usually supports and junglers are getting the sweeper one.
You can just go to a lane, use your sweeper and remove the ward there to fear the opponent off. They are without any trinket ward for over 1 minute then. In addition to that you can also remove actual wards which supports mostly still get + a lot of junglers have the ability to solo sneak dragon and that is also way easier with the sweeper one. Obviously will still need time to be figured out but I really really like the sweeper.

Can the enemy team see your red trinket scan animation? What about your blue trinket reveal?
|
They can definitely see red trinket scan. I don't know about blue cos i've barely seen it used.

Yes to both.

smartcast gives speed at the cost of accuracy. IMO it doesn't really matter unless you're playing a hero that has to cast 9 spells in less than a sec

And youpi double fail post....

I usually bind [Q] [W] [E] [R] to smartcast and [Shift Q] [Shift W] [Shift E] [Shift R] to nonsmarcast so when I need to see the range/radius I can press the shift key

I think Madlife normal-casts
I find it makes most sense to smartcast every targeted spell (e.g., all of Ryze's spells) and normalcast most skill shots (e.g., normalcast Blitz hook, but smartcast Ezreal's Q).

What you guys think of AP Malphite mid like what Alex ich did on IEM Cologne finals vs Fnatic?

With Jayce it's a damned if you do damned if you don't situation, you either miss or use your spells so slow it's like your opponent has already gotten their cooldowns back before you've used all your spells.

I personally like to use Smartcast on everything, but with the range indicators. This gives me the option to hold down the key and delay the spell (like thresh hook), and gives me the targeting indicator like normal cast. It also allows me to quick cast with a champion like jayce with a degree of accuracy: hold Q, aim, E W R Q Auto E.

Anyone know a site to see when you previously ranked up? I have been cruising through the ranks and kind of curious.

What items should i be building on jax if I want damage and sustain.
I usually go Dorans/Pot->2nd Dorans or start my Botrk
Most guides say this but i've heard guides are pretty bad. Some people i played with said triforce first, but i lacked sustain to win my lane against malphite(tank)

You've heard that guides are bad? What does that even mean? If you want damage and sustain, then of course BotRK is better than triforce, as triforce gives no sustain.

To be fair there's a lot of guides out there that are questionable. You just need to use your critical thinking
I usually like to visit probuilds.net and check out a bunch of the games there. You can usually see who they laned against, the enemy teamcomp and try to see how that reflects on their item choices. You can compare between different games if you get the same pro playing the same champ a few times.

Guides are essentially just advice. Saying that guides are bad is like saying that advice is bad. Like with most things, generally a good idea is to find a guide by someone who has the results to back up what they're saying.
