Heck, if you build just a smidge AP and Visage - pretty much any Sheen item, he can easily solo outer->inhib tower.

Master Yi and Shaco are the 2 most famous and fastest backdoorers. Shaco got his clone to almost double his dmg and tank for him, Master Yi got his massive AD, Attack Speed and Mspeed (for running away) steroids.

hmm I will have to try these out. Next question: I remember last season a pro soloed dragon at like level 3 with Udyr. Which champions are the best at early solo dragon kills and what are the minimum requirements you need to do it (items/skills/any special masteries or runes?). A really early dragon sneak before the enemy wards it seems really powerful to me.

I used to play jungle Nasus for the sole reason that you can solo Dragon easily once you get your ult. No one expects the 7 minute Dragon. I imagine Nunu/Fiddlesticks can do it even earlier.

If you want to do the backdoorathon, the most important things to remember are a) towers are immune to crits b) towers are affected by Last Whisper, and have lots of armor c) towers do physical damage only in other words, get AD, attackspeed, Last Whisper, and probably some tank stats if you want to optimize your build for towerdicking. This has the downside of making you pooptacular at manfights, though, so unless you're doing nothing but backdooring, you should probably build normally. Master Yi gets a special mention because his passive is basically a pseudocrit that hits towers. Pantheon also, because with enough attackspeed he can actually activate his passive often enough that the tower can't actually hurt him. A note: towers have not been affected by the armor penetration of last whisper since 2009.
If you're concerned about hitting towers only then you want raw ad and raw attack speed. The items which are best at this are
Bloodthirster(most raw ad for cash) Hydra (second most raw ad for cash) Stinger (best attack speed for cash) Zephyr (best combo of ad and attack speed for cash) Ghost blade(so long as you have the active available it's almost as much tower hitting as zephyr). Triforce (if you can proc it it's bonus damage is substantial.

Why does Sivir Spellshield block gold/blue/red card of Twisted Fate? It says it blocks the next ability - pick a card only enhances the attack ~~

Huh, for some reason I thought they reverted that change at one point. But I just tested it and LW armor penetration has no effect on towers when backdooring.

Does anyone know if LCS is pre-recorded?

Because if spellshields didn't block pick a card pick a card would be ridiculous. Also spell shields block pretty much all abilities which enhance auto attacks

A friend of mine convinced me to mess around with LoL a bit now and then after I've dropped the game for a couple years. So I just wanted to ask how some of my old favorites are doing. Last time I played was around the release of Syndra.
Anyway, a list of some of the favorites I played a lot back then: - Leona - Renekton - Riven - Rumble - Ahri - Gragas - Jax - Ziggs - Akali - Corki - Rammus
Is there anyone there that builds drastically different since the time I stopped playing? And is there any new champ since the time I played that you guys think I'd like based on that list.

Every toplaner basically starts doranshield now. Rammus got raped by nerfs. If you like corki I think that Lucian would be a much stronger pick.

Leona, Renekton, Gragas, Ziggs are still at the top in terms of popularity/relevance, Riven and Jax (and a bit Akali because pros used her so pickrate spike in pubs) are somewhat frequent too.
Jinx tends to be the go-to AD Carry now but she doesn't have much to do with Corki, she's more like Kog'Maw with a personal Shurelya (it's called Talisman now) on kill/assist/tower kill and an AoE global range execute nuke for an ult.
Stuff like Shyvana and Mundo is pretty popular top lane, Lucian is also the go-to Triforce skirmishing AD carry right now, popular junglers include Elise (because she's broken; she was the champion following Syndra), Lee Sin (still super versatile and king of early game) and Vi (very reliable ganks and initiation post-6, good burst).
Corki and Rammus are hardly the same (Corki's Q is a slowish skillshot instead of instant now, overall they reduced his damage and bullying in exchange for mana cost buffs, Rammus can't clear the jungle for shit and doesn't have the dueling or pre-6 ganking power required from junglers now, sadly).
Ahri and Rumble aren't seen either but it has more to do with the meta and people being fickle lemmings rather than their own performances. Rumble's damage's been nerfed (they fixed a bug and realised his base damage were broken as fuck, so they reduced them; in exchange Q is way more reliable) and Ahri's been shifte (they realised she can kill people with just DFG and the auto-targeting spells, W and R; a bit embarrassing when they envisioned her a sa skill-shot reliant champion so they reduced her overall damage but gave her charm a %damage amplication debuff so you still deal the same amount if you can land it).
As for gameplay, the game tends to be a bit slower now, though not quite back to s2-level. There is a 7th item slot reserved for "trinkets", which is basically CV, wriggle's ward or a ward/traps-revealing as an active, you can get them for free at the start of the game, swap them mid-game if you want to, and buy a definitive, upgraded version; the CV one sucks tho. Banshee's Veil is better than before and Spirit Visage and Sunfire Cape have been hit hard as a result of s4 defensive tree being a buff to champs like Renekton or Mundo, so they hit the items rather than the individual champions. Blade of the Ruined King (BotRK, introduced patch after Syndra) is a popular alternative to BT for AD carries w/o AD ratios (Tristana, Vayne, etc.) and auto-attack based bruisers (Shyvana, Jax, etc.) and Ravenous Hydra is liked by melee AD casters and assassins (Tiamat was buffed with an active to deal your AD around you, Hydra is Tiamat+lifesteal and you get healed from the active and passive cleave too).

Not per se.. if you time it correctly, someone can just use some cc beforehand and yellow card will still stun her accordingly

Don't be lazy, TF is one of the best spellshield poppers in the game.

Are there any community held/lower leagued amateur tournaments that people/teams can sign up for just for fun or minimal prizes? I feel like a crazy person because I've been playing this game for 2 years and I have yet to even hear of a single ladder tournament of some kind.

Is it too late to get started in LoL if you plan to play competitively (not pro just laddering/amateur teams)? I've been playing Dota for ages but getting bored since all my friends play League and there seems to be a much better amateur/low level scene, just feels akward starting a game this far into its life though, but I'm also not knowledgeable enough about the game to know whether it's true or not.

There's always time to start. The scene is growing, not dying, so if you can find a team to grow with then you should. More challenging (obviously) will be getting to even the high-level for laddering/amateur teams, but that's all about your own ability and dedication. Good luck!
