At least KTB was considered the second best team in the world until past week and they are probably still good despite their showing at Masters, but Roccat are doing so well and they are Polish and ehhh. "probably good still" lol They lost to IM twice. How is that good still?

Until KR teams manage to bomb on the level of Fnatic, spring split, 2014, I'm willing to give most teams the benefit of the doubt. KT is trending downwards for sure but I still wouldn't pick many western teams over them. TL;DR: I wanted to drop KT B out of the lolesports power rankings but a few writers countered whether or not I'd pick Roccat or Gambit over KT B. I probably wouldn't.

But right now I'd pick gambit or roccat over KT B in an instant. So does that make everybody in EU mediocre since they all have a habit of beating eachother? Insec hasn't played in the jungle professionally for the better part of a year and had little to no practice beforehand.

Explain how playing 14h/day 6-7/days a week for 2 years, is little to no practice? Because I think that's quite a lot of practice =)

If you try and say that it should be reasy to transition back into the jungle, I'm going to laugh at you.

He was 100% the reason they lost both of those games. Relatively, he gave a worse performance than Zuna. If an 8th place team beats a 1st place team it doesn't mean anything without context. In this case it's always been that the lower tier teams in EU aren't as far apart for whatever reason, and the challenger scene there has been stronger. Hell, just look at Roccat.

I'm thinking basic feel for his champion's capabilities will really help.

That's why no SKT/CJ/SG, no OMG/EDG, no AHQ, no TSM, no Roccat (Gambit already qualified so couldn't do anything about that). Either ESL's decision to have equal level of competition or Riot not wanting IEM to compete with Worlds. Four of the slots were determined by who won the four regional IEMs from the past year (WE from Shanghai, iG from Singapore, Millenium from Sao Paolo, Gambit from Cologne). Since China already got two slots, they passed on inviting another Chinese team. A lot of the Korean teams have tournament schedule conflicts, and KTB is probably the best team that was available. C9 is one of the top NA teams, and Fnatic is honestly the only questionable invite in terms of raw strength, and they're much more established than Roccat. Ahq might be better than TPA (it's close, but I think Ahq has the edge), but TPA has a lot bigger name value, without sacrificing that much potential. I don't think it's some big conspiracy to invite weak teams, but name value definitely played a role. And four of the slots were set by qualifiers which didn't give them a lot of slots to work with.

At any rate, it's true that invite system favors bigger names, and it wouldn't surprise me if Roccat was simply looked over - but that's to be expected considering they only really started becoming relevant over the past couple of months. I would've liked to see Roccat at IEM Worlds but alas 'tis not to be.
