Know people from all over the world I've met all around the world. Nothing remotely similar was ever brought up, even when I studied specific courses about these specific things abroad in Asia! Nor has it been brought up in Sweden in any other specific instance so, either there is an extreme circumstance and something of a 0.0001 probabilty of only me and Svenskeren not knowing that Ching Chong, could be offensive to some people. Hence I strongly believe that he thought he was behaving respectfully trying to joke or interact in a friendly manner with a fan. As a result the punishment is not warranted and extremely unfair. Look you can ching chong with your g/f (have you tried it yet? I bet that will go over well) all you want but however you strongly believe it's not offensive, the fact of the matter was it was to the recipients.
No I have not, I'm not that young and I don't find it funny ANYMORE. That does not equate to me not thinking it was funny before, especially because I did not and overall could not know that it was offensive or racist. I have NOT said it is not offensive, same as the Nazi cross it is extremely offensive. But it does warrant an immense punishment on either Svenskeren or the person wearing such a symbol because they did not know any better. An apology is warranted, punishment is not!

ah w/e not worth it so fck it. I mean jeezus no wonder Swedish women were hook up with when this is apparently the social competition.

I just don't get what people base their hate on Sven from, other than some contextless screenshots from private convos that make him look bad. And I can easily believe that there was no ill intention and he could honestly don't know it's wrong, especially after reading your and killerdog's posts.
Not knowing the law is not really an excuse no. But this is no law, it is a cultural and social rule, of which there are millions for all the cultures across the whole world. Not knowing all of them when you go a place is understandable and should not be punished as one would punish one breaking a law. There are laws against racism, and when you can establish that it is actual racism then you have a case, if you cannot then it is void.

I doubt Riot discussed that ChingChong is offensive in their seminar. And not because its complicated but because they didn't think people would be stupid enough to do it in the first place.

If you think so, 99.9% of all people on Earth deserves to be hated and called racist.
Pretty sure if you're on the job internationally and start your joke with "Chingchong" you'd get your ass fired right away. Whether you know or not is irrelevant. As Gorsameth pointed out, you don't get a free pass in the real world just cause you're an idiot.

yes, because it's pretty hard to believe you don't know chingchong or chink is the most common racial slur against east asians if you're well traveled...
You act like Scandinavia is some new recently discovered land but in the current age of the internet it's hard to believe he didn't know any better especially considering his history of making dumb racists comments. Next you're telling me he called his team in soloQ "cancer jew team" because he didn't have many jews living around him in denmark to know it's offensive right? :D
Also please don't speak for all of Norway, Sweden, Finland & Denmark and say stupid shit like "99% of Scandis wouldn't think this is offensive" bla bla.
e: oh and in case you are still ignorant enough to think he "just didn't know any better" look at this screenshot, he knew fucking well what he was doing. https://i.imgur.com/aEpCBLW.jpg

I never said 99% would not think... I said there is a very high chance that people in our countries would have no idea that it could be offensive. The screenshot is no evidence and what you interpret as him asking if it is Offensive, would probably by many here be interpreted as a way to make sure he is not being offensive by mistake, i.e trying to learn about the world. He is a young kid that played computer games for his whole life, he does not seem to know any better as said.

ok dude, I'm not actually sure if you're just trolling but all your post are pure comedy. Hope little Svenskeren can gain valuable life experience and learn about the world on his journey. He can go talk to some locals and ask what offends them during the time he's sitting out the first 3 matches.

Are you guys seriously calling someone an idiot because he never had an opportunity to learn something? Damn

Realize with the wealth of available information in todays day and age for someone that has access to TL or plays LoL it's not about never having the opportunity to learn it's more about never taking the initiative to learn.

If you think calling yourself ChingChong while playing in Taiwan as a member on a team playing in the world championships is a good idea, esp after you just had a PR seminar, then you are simply put an idiot.

We don't know what exactly was said in that seminar. We don't know whether Sven was being sarcastic in that screenshot, or not. We don't know how he usually talks. We don't know his upbringing. We don't know what he thinks his nickname meant to people. We don't know if he wanted to be malicious or not.
I mean, I don't know all that, maybe you guys do.

I mean, I don't know all that, maybe you guys do. All the seminar proves is that he's had issues in the past, it doesn't matter what it specifically covered. He probably wasn't being malicious, but that doesn't make the name not offensive to some people. Like someone else said, at best it's a bad joke. Also as it was started earlier, "ching chong" has no other meaning other than as a derogatory term so I highly doubt he randomly picked it without knowing what it meant/its origins.

Edit: So sad about Piglet and Poohmandu being released from the main roster. They were my favourite bot lane.
