So many games again. Hope next split we see a lesser amount of games that are more important with more teams. Maybe more best of 3s or 5s.

Yea I'm hoping for this as well. I believe they said they were thinking about getting rid of super week with more teams(http://na.lolesports.com/articles/2015-season-considerations-increasing-participating-teams), but I don't think they have actually confirmed anything in that article.

I expect Alliance and Fnatic to sandbag a lot, actually. Like, really a lot, especially considering that next week are playoffs already and they're 2 heads above everyone anyway.
This week doesn't matter at all, we already know top-2 and bot-2 and other 4 are coin flippers in each day. So, Millenium-SK, Roccat-Acer and Millenium-SHCAcerXD are games to watch.
I really hope that Acer will play SK in playoffs, will be hilarious how Rallez dumps Jesiz and Co into relegations.
+ Acer-Fnatic in semifinals with Acer going into finals to choke again against [A], and Fnatic losing to Creaton and Kerp entering God mode and missing out Worlds. Will be sick.
|
The pbe patch changes are interesting. A lot of changes small buffs to champions that maybe could appear in the next weeks. Thats at last what i hope that we maybe see some champs again and a more diverse champion picks.

That's the most hilarious part because EU playoffs will be on 4.12 but NA will play their playoffs on completely different patch. Riot truly knows time when to patch, second year in a row.

Does anyone actually watch all of these games, live and pay attention? I remember trying to watch super week vods in the past and it usually took me over a week to get through them all. Now I don't even bother...
Also any chance for Roccat to make semis? They seem to have a pretty hard week

I pretty much watch all of them? Mostly because I actually take updating the thread a bit seriously, and also because I do enjoy watching them for the most part. Though both NA and EU LCS have been getting a bit difficult to watch recently due to the current trends going on. Seeing first blood after 10 minutes is a bit ridiculous for example.
I don't mind seeing calculated play/smooth rotations from teams, but that's usually not what is occurring. I don't consider "clean" play to be boring. There is also this awful trend of teams not forcing full team fights because they are just so scared of engaging onto the enemy team. I get that they are playing for quite a bit on the line, but it really gets frustrating to watch certain teams never push their advantage.
Of course, I do lose attention at times. For example teams with 20k gold lead, but not pushing their advantage. In this case, the game is over, but the winning team just hasn't ended it properly. I don't see what is interesting about that type of play. It doesn't help that the casters aren't always the most entertaining, and sometimes just talk nonsense which adds to the effect that the game has been going on too long.

Good article on what can still happen: http://content.azubu.tv/moba/league-of-legends/time-numbered-2014-summer-lcs-week-11-preview/
Basically there is a 15.92% chance for SHC to still reach top 2 and a 0.78% chance (lol) for CW to still get to playoffs (assuming 50% chances to win games).
So we might not see teams getting out their best picks. But I still expect them to try their best in the games. Teams always take wins and losses in LCS surprisingly serious. It is important for morale. Maybe games will even be more interesting and agressive with less pressure.

I just genuinely hope that there will be no tiebreakers.
To clarify, actually.
Millenium are 2-1 over SK right now. Millenium are 2-1 over Acer. Acer are 2-1 over Roccat. Roccat and Millenium are at 2-2. Acer at 2-2 with SK. And Roccat are 1-3 against SK.

Gambit can finally get their 15 games lose streak this week. What an achievement.
|
Dammit forgot to do my fantasy stuff. Logged in only to see the last few seconds until lock-in count down.

I finally got a chance to try top Mao a couple times yesterday it's pretty legit, I wonder if it's going to be ban/picked in every game or just a vs. gambit thing
|
does anyone know if there was a "the hunt is on" game before?
|
I actually want to see CW get stomped again. Just so I can see what kind of salt comes out when it happens two weeks in a row.
|
On July 30 2014 00:21 Chemiczny84 wrote: does anyone know if there was a "the hunt is on" game before?
Have a vague memory of a game with it before. Think Kha'zix got his 4th evolution.
|
I think Spirit had a 4 evolution kha this season in groups
|
What do you mean 'the hunt is on" game? I think it occurred before in LCS, but I don't remember which game. Well thinking back on it, my memory might be deceiving me. It could be "remembered" only because the casters seem to talk about it. So it might not have happened.
|
The only long period of time where rengar was enabled Kha hadn't come to prominence yet
|
I don't see how gambit are winning some of their fights. They should have fought with when Diamond went in, but there was such a delayed reaction there. The turnaround by Diamond seemed really good, but his team followed up so slowly.
WOW Kubon lived on top. wowow

Gambit not looking quite like their old dominant play, but that bottom fight definitely much better than earlier weeks.

Please. Don't ever forgot swaglord kayle games. Going 0/12/something, and still winning games. What a god. Also pretty sure Edward's support gragas lands more ults than most top lane gragas so far in both LCS.

Gambit are going all-out to escape the dragonborns dream. Were wolves seriously trying to re-engage a fight where your ADC was one shot from death against a ziggs/koggles.
|
Gambit are doing something interesting here. I have no idea how they are doing it though. Too bad it's against CW, and not against Fnatic or something.
hmm
Banshee veil bugged out graphically on Diamond. It actually looks like he has double bubble(brighter bubble) when he only has one. It looks much better this way though.
|
United Kingdom50293 Posts
Not sure if intentional or gambit bailed diamond.
|
|
Rengar is so useless lol. Was Zilean banned? Feel he's way better than Ori with rengar.
|
It's a midgame thing, you use the combo to assassinate someone alone (or AoE explode them but that's the dream, not what you should aim at every 2 minutes) and then you group and storm an objective 5v4 despite being two ults down, including the crucial Ori ult. It's much harder at this point, especially since even if Ziggs dies there's still Gragas and Kog to deal with.
|
Pretty sure Gambit's winning this much because niQ is doing some crazy good things this game.
|
United Kingdom50293 Posts
Looks like dragonborns 13 loss streak will never be surpassed. Truly dragonborns were something that we should have treasured when we had them.
|
Well doesn't help when Ori keeps blowing her ulti on one person. Think Zilean also has more burst potential in the mid game than Ori?
|
Pretty big if Gambit can get past CW in standings
The'd be able to not be last and pick for themselves NOT NiP for the relegation matches

I don't know of many(maybe any) teams who would be comfortable with a Zilean pick over Orianna. I don't know why Soren's playing this way though.

Gambit too far ahead that 3 man shockwave is not enough(because ziggs is there with his ult to counter it as well). I don't know what niQ did to practice, but these zigg ults are pretty amazing this game.

CW so bad even Gambit beats them.

Too much hating on the polls. QQ. Expected more yes votes for that game considering how much better Gambit looked in comparison to their previous few weeks. I guess people are not falling for the good ol' "win one game to give fans false hope" hype train

Riot crew are your entertainers, players are playing for results, it's not their job to entertain you. Don't like - don't watch.
On the other hand, won't be surprised if [A] plays some Nunu comps in semifinals. They have enough cohesion for them now.

Not like Riven's jumps are hard. She even gets extra range to make sure she jumps the walls.

I am entertained
are you not entertained

The longer this game goes the better it is for Alliance since their comp is much better for late game.

this game is the game I needed to understand why ZIlian is getting picked, I've seen the light.

Okay. EU sucks at playing for results too. They can't close out a games with 10-15k gold leads, which results in teams just farming up and coming back from behind. It's horrible play, to watch and for results. They don't take risks, and they don't know how to make plays. Therefore, they won't know how to push the limits of what you can or cannot do, and the result is they're stuck in boring farm fests all summer long. Look at this ROC vs [A] game, they've had 2 barons now and still can't finish it off even with a 10k gold lead. Sometimes, it's worth it to just dive.

Not sure if alliance can come back from this but every team that manages to come back from a 10.ooo gold lead gets my respect.

earlier this season I'd say it was a legit complaint (or you could counter argue they were ahead of the curve) but right now it's just so much more rewarding to play champions that can stall like crazy and a lot of the stuff that counters it has been nerfed in our bi-weekly patch cycle -/.-

Super aggressive midgame dives I guess, especially if the goal of the enemy team is to protect a few cores. But Irelia is strong in the midgame, and Kog/Ziggs are 2 targets, so it's hard to use that to snipe the enemy danger then take the objective 5v4.
Plus as you said their comp is rather meh. Elise's midgame damage is strong but there are better divers than her. Same, Nami isn't too aggressive.
Aaaaand Roccat are shit. Holy crap seriously?

Bullets now have legit jungler with sick nickname, as you know. In the end they still lost to Falcons, and got eliminated in top-12. Rock just carried too hard and Pilot played blue Ezreal.

Oh I agree that it's definitely a slower patch since mage mids are much more prominent, and wave-clear is prioritized. Maybe it's because I watch too much NA LCS, but it seems that a much larger ratio of EU-CLS games go 40-50 minutes rather than 30-40 minutes.

Gragas and half-health whoever (Corki? took free harass from Xerath) ran straight into Riven flash range, so Shook instantly R-flash-W ('cause Riven) while they were stuck near Alliance's outer mid, with the other 3 toward the blue. Gragas had to Zhonya (and died right after) while Corki flashed backward, in a tight area for free Xerath ult that forced Zilean's ult. Despite a very good 3-man bubble by Nami, Zilean fell too as Corki tried to run away upon resurrecting and died too, then Alliance just took the base.

Hmm don't know. Sure it's strong later and he did win them the game but he put them in that terrible position by being unable to have any impact early. It's hard to judge if it's worth it or not. I think a slightly better team may have just ended the game before A came back.

I'm fairly sure both calls were bad. I rate the inhib issue worse because Fnatic essentially broke through CW's base without any issues. It's such a bigger deal for the whole game than the bad baron calls.

The outcome was certainly worse, but I think at the time it was made it wasn't as questionable. They were fighting back quite well up until that baron attempt which as soon as you saw them start it you knew they were going to get owned.

not sure about the shiv when you're not ahead and/or pushing. shooting really fast on 120 AD doesn't really do much lol
|
I played it twice for the first time yesterday, I wouldn't really call him a lane counter to anyone (other than people who push naturally) his only real strength early is retard proof gank support and sustain. I will say in the gragas match up it's really nice because Gragas tends to cast a lot of spells so you heal a lot.
if you are ahead or even @RoA completion you become really difficult to kill or trade with.
small sample size my experence may not = the truth

I'm the wrong person to ask here since I don't play top lane or know too much about it. I also don't play enough LoL to know the specifics. My guess is that he is tanky enough(RoA build), has enough lane clear, and can bully Gragas in lane(which is difficult to do)

Well Millenium played out their comp pretty badly, uh. ._. Tristana starting 15+ cs behind Kog and with an exp deficit as he reaches level 4 already, they cut out the roams right after the initial trade that was bad (because switch meant a bunch of missed farm, and shared exp, an Maokai didn't even end up ahead of Aatrox who he can't beat anyway).

Losses like that or to Alliance just show up why there is a difference between top-2 and bot-6 in EU LCS and why Acer isn't top-3 material in bad day.
Still, i'm going with my predictions with Acer in top-4 if they get anyone but Millenium in quarterfinals.

Acer is ok to play against SK, because SK just blow in lanes and let Rallez take farm, Selfie isn't getting camped and Mimer can play Shyvana. Against Roccat it's even better for them but against Millenium, you never know which curve ball will be dropped this time on you, in what mood is KottenX and are Kerp and Creaton in God mode already or no.
I just wish that they won't play Roccat though, rofl. NiP-{M}illenium series might look fast and furious after it.
Suddenly shit is real and new KT B jungler isn't even a rookie, rofl.

They're not doing it because they just want. They just don't have other choice to make. Go hard or go home, missing 2 weeks of scrims from 3 isn't a legit thing, missing whole week isn't either.
I wish that western teams will move their asses next Spring and just go into Champions Winter or even Champions Spring.
|
There are also disadvantages of scrimming with Koreans. Top teams probably wont scrim with you at all, those teams that do will sandbag massively and they will leak all your strats to other Koreans. So you can maybe do general practise, but you should not practise your actual strats you want to use at worlds vs Korean teams.
Well also not everbody can afford it financially.
|
Also just watched yesterday's Roc vs All game. Holy shit that Riven jungle made me mad. Usually you see junglers work for the laners, here it was the other way around with very high cost. She was useless all game until that one flash stun. Granted that move won them the game, but I dont think you can justify the pick based off that.

Not really. I don't think, that if CLG scrim Faker and Co, Faker will sandbag a lot because a) there is pride on the line, b) Is there a single guy who thinks that top Korean team can't beat everyone in the world with ease.
Imo, it's more about rotational play and general decisionmaking in a game, i guess, CLG can learn a lot if they scrim CJ Entus/SKT T1/Jin Air/Najin, don't think that they will be able to scrim Samsung A LOT at least.
Anyway, time to EU. Can Roccat finally close the game or Acer will teach Overpow how to be aggressive?

Faker perma tryhards, he troll bans in lomoQ just to give their other mid the OP picks to maximize his practice against the top picks. SKT K would probably make for good scrims but I doubt outside of curiosity to examine CLG's playstyle they'll get much.
Jin Air stealths would probably be the team they'd get most value out of scrimming, CLG is better than falcons and stealths are still in about T2 of Korea easily.

On one hand, I think it's cool that Zilean is being picked recently. On the other hand, I think they are picking it more as a copy cat than actually understanding it's strength/weaknesses.
This roccat comp is basically protect the koggers comp, which is scary late game if they get there. I just hope they time their ults properly. Please no stacking ults!

ROC seem to have a decent understanding of Zilean. Now rengar on the other hand. Why on earth did SHC pick him. Just to deny it from ROC? Have ROC even played Rengar?

+ Stealths can't scrim Falcons because they have NLB game inc rofl. I can see CLG playing Frost/Blaze, can be real practice for Seraph/Link/dexter. And if they can play at least bunch against SKT T1 K, will worth bunch of weeks against NA counterparts.

The amount of control Roccat have this game is pretty close to amazing though. They don't seem to be overextending, and are keeping their greed in check. Pretty interesting to watch.
Whoops I guess I jinxed things a bit. Xaxus got greedy there. There was very little reason for his death there after coming out ahead in a 3 man gank.

I don't know where your confidence in SHC comes from. Even if they play much better in playoffs, it doesn't mean they are "sandbagging" here. Both games from SHC haven't been good, and the problem is consistent. Yesterday, impaler was playing badly. Today, impaler AND selfie are both playing badly.

Supa acer crew need selfie and impaler to actually play well but they're probably the two most inconsistent players in EU LCS (Tied with kottenX), MrRallez is still good but doesn't put the team on his back like he did last split, kasing is okay he doesn't the same kind of peaks of migxa but considering migxa's lows it about evens out. Mimer is better than before, not as good as best tops EU (tm) soaz and wickd but he's probably third which reflects SHC position I guess. Selfie and impaler can faceroll teams but they're so far having a crap weak which is basically death for supa acer crew, selfie doesn't really win lanes 1v1 so shutting down impaler normally auto wins vs supa acer crew.

When team has 14 wins, usually they don't get 2 kills in 2 games, especially when they're playing Fnatic and Roccat, arguably two slowest teams in LCS.
Probably i'm just blind and Acer are just THAT one-dimensional, so if you shut down Rallez, they have no other choice but have 1 kill per game, but i dont' think so.

Well, it's Challenger finals, so it's worth watching at least to understand how strong are neo-NiP and SKP on LAN.
NiP are already #1 seed coming into Promotion tournament, SKP can tie G2 for 3rd place and get into tiebreakers if they win.

Fizz/Ahri is absolute 50/50 matchup, one of the most balanced in midlane imo. + There are not many Ahri masters now in EU, nukeduck is banned, Alex ain't playing in LCS yet and Froggen doesn't want to pick her, so only xPeke is left.

That dragon fighting was pretty bad. They pulled back even though they had advantage by bursting down Tristana earlier, but didn't push it. They wasted their skills and mana trying to harass them for positioning they should have had but didn't take. Tristana was able to recall to base and come back to fight for dragon again. That's fairly ridiculous.

So, now we have Dignitas syndrome - when champions are nerfed and then SK Gaming syndrome for meta shifts? :D Jokes aside, i'm actually very interested in will Riot will retarded enough for implementing 4.13 for semifinals/finals/3rd place match in EU. Why, rofl. It's just friendly banter, like everyone was saying about CLG in S3 that they're playing longer games than anyone while they were. I can imagine, he's warm with coL roster still, not his fault that he got dropped by visa thing.

Still has to win against SK and believe that CW won't beat choking Acer. Acer-Millenium for worst team in superweek game tomorrow.
If SK win now, they will finish 3rd most likely though and play Roccat while Acer will face {M}. If they lose on the other hand, either Acer or {M} can reach them even if they beat Gambit.

To be fair I feel both of those members were incredibly overrated. Nuke hasn't really been good since Assassin meta vanished along with zed nerfs. Mithy was always not that great support but supposedly offered a lot in terms of shotcalling and strategy. Alex seems to offer the same other benefits of Mithy along with being a good player.
edit: SKP looking pretty solid. Not sure if they getting enough though for how much better NiPs lategame is.

SK Prime should have incarnati0n and sports psychologist. SK Prime with darkwinjax coach and sports psychologist.
To not overpraise though, NiP really shouldn't have been forcing dragons. They were even/behind a team that was hitting their power peak especially with the item disparity (grail/deathcap orianna vs fairly stacked tear/grail zilean. It's not even close and mid game corki even items with koggles is so much in corki's favour at that point). Really overaggressive attempts to take initiative and uneeded risks with the superior late game comp. Still I want to give praise for a team actually playing out a mid game powerspike and not wussing out with the lead (Not looking at any LCS teams, especially Polish ones)

Shit happens. k0u ain't very legit tonight as well. It's good though, if Cabochard is going to perform like that in Promotion tournament and Voidle is going to play at least like that, NiP are going to have free time with Alex and k0u playing to their standards. Anyway, i don't want to overlook those series, but it didn't mean shit for both teams.
So, i only can assume that SKP will beat G2 and then:
NiP vs G2/Reason H2K vs SKP/UOL
NiP, SKP, H2K top-3, will be fun if Ocelote knocks out poor H2K.
NiP-Gambit CW-SKP Someone vs H2K/G2.

Sad to see NiP cant put up the performances of their online games when actually at a Lan. They have been getting outplayed pretty much every game today.

Idk, i don't see them getting eliminated if Diamondprox is going to have sotl/mobis minute 8 every game this way. Anyway, they won't because 10-teams expand, but still.

Well, let's think about it. 6th-8th place LCS vs 1st-3rd in Challenger.
Only one team will be eliminated from 10-teams LCS from those 6 and there is almost no chance that any LCS team gets dropped.
IS IT FREAKING MOSCOW FIVE.

Playing Kog against Gragas is just suicidal, especially when you're sick and can't play for full potential. And i'm not impressed by any EU Tristana yet, it's still not even close to ohQ/Pilot level.

Also picking Karthus doesn't work any better, especially since both of the super long range marksmen are available, meaning he'll have trouble getting on top of them even if he blows Flash. On top of that, Gragas was already picked. So why get Karthus if not picking Corki was for that very reason?

Go home KottenX you're drunk.
Thing is, even tough Yasuo won't 100-0 Karthus like Ahri can (especially later when she doesn't have to dive like him to get the kill) he's still super good against Karthus in lane.
Wtf what a joke. After the nice coutergank top KottenX is being such a deadweight.

Karthus is considered as counter for Yasuo though. It's tricky matchup but same to Xerath, because you have no projectiles, Karthus is considered to be favoured a bit but you need to be very good with him.

I think Quickshot does not use other words, its only "terrifying"...
|
Why the fuck do people always run straight toward that bottleneck sticking to the wall? People are always hidden either at the bottom of the ramp or on the left behind the trees. And players always follow the goddamn left side. That's like asking to get hooked/rooted/whatever without seeing it coming, just to save maybe 2 seconds.
|
Quickshot said he favours Millenium lategame, earlier. Not he says the opposite. Quickshot.
Nash is down, I'd like to see Millenium try to get bottom outer (and maybe inner) just because it'll fall so fast and they need some quick gold. They won't break the siege with their comp anyway.
|
Who would dive 4v5 against a superior teamcomp for a tower they could have killed 3-4 minutes earlier?
THAT'S RIGHT, MILLENIUM.
What fucking dumbasses, absolutely 0 vision of the other 4 and they're trying to kill a Randuin's+Banshee Yasuo and they send everyone but Karthus there for absolutely no reason, when they could have just killed that tower 1-2 minutes later had they waited for Karthus. Nope, better go 4v5, fuckup their dive really badly, and get moped up.
Oh hey it's over, Millenium are the ultimate morons. "They have a full AP glass cannon Gragas, an IE Yasuo, and a full items Tristana. Let's all group up in the same precise spot around nashor and let them run at us while tanking it!" Even if they managed to kill it and spread out in the pit they'd have been destroyed right afterwards. They should have backed off after forcing the TP.

Acer, can you beat CW? If they do:
Acer-Roccat vs [A] SK-{M} vs Fnatic CW will play tiebreaker against Gambit for 7th place and NiP avoidance.
If they don't:
Acer will play tiebreaker against SK for 3rd/4th place. CW are 7th, Gambit are destined to play NiP.
Also, if Roccat win now and {M} lose to [A], we're getting tiebreakers between Millenium and Roccat.

It's the last guy.
If Gambit went 0-13 losing streak like Dragonborns, nobody'd have given a shit about DB and just talk about "pulling a Gambit" when talking about losing streaks.
Rekkles equalized Mancloud and is on par with him. Don't see why people started screaming "YEAH MANCLOUD KEEPS HIS RECORD". It's shared.
In fact getting it for last makes his record even better since it's more relevant.

CW makes LCS again because H2K got collapsed completely, Youngbuck retires, Beansu, Amin and Febiven come in, CW make Worlds in S5.
Jokes aside, Unlimited is one of the most underrated players in whole LCS.

Roccat 3-0 Acer inc. Will be hilarious, arguably Overpow and crew just got best draw for them.
Hope, Gambit demolish Wolves.

What's funny is that alliance has so much armor and little MR the pseudo AP damage warwick and full AP zac is wrecking everyone.

Bad focus fire from Alliance. There's only 2 damage points, Quinn and Warwick. Warwick is #2 priority.

I already won my Fantasy League before the Superweek but having 3 [A] players and 117 points Diamond makes for some pretty funny numbers
