no no yes and ^_^ Do the players ever know which Faction recruited them? (Yes, according to previous page?) Do the leaders know what character the player he recruited has? What is the incentive for the players to help a certain faction leader? I mean player A can be playing for Wu the first day, then playing for Shu the second day. Also, if player A carries crucial information of his faction, and was then recruited to another faction... well, you know what I'm going at. a) no, they don't even know that they are recruited. The only one that gets any confirmation is the leader. Um... 1. You have been recruited to green faction! 2. You have been recruited to green faction! Your comrades are B and C! 3. You have been recruited to green faction! The leader is A, and your comrades are B and C! They will receive only message 1. Major contradiction here methinks. lol oops ok hows this, the recruiter chooses to let me know what option they want-no notification or faction notification Would they choose for each recruitment? Or is it a one-shot deal that goes for every recruitment? theyd choose for each recruit darn. Well better than nothing

What did you expect from this type of game?
|
By the way, I sent everyone message telling them to choose notification because I was afraid this game will become elitist with majority of information in hands of the few minority, but I see it's going to be useless with Caller clarifying that leaders are going to make choice for each individual recruitment. It was worth trying.

I PM'd Caller. Caller confirmed that "all remaining neutral players win lawl". It is going to be pretty difficult, but at least we got the technicality out of the way.

At least there is (false?)sense of loyalty there, as that would be the one and only faction you will be trying to help to win.
Kinda curious though, based on our current scenario. If a leader recruits a DT or Assassin, he/she doesn't know what he/she recruited. The DT/Assassin also doesn't know he/she has been recruited. Now lets say the DT uses their abilities on player X. Player X comes out as Zhao Yun. Ok great, you've found Zhao Yun, but what does that means to you? What should you do? Tell your leader? You don't even know who that person is. Tell the general public? For what? He might even be on your faction already. Same thing can be applied to the assassin. What is the purpose of using your ability? Unless you just want to randomly kill people, there really isn't any "purpose" in general. This is one of the reasons why I am pushing for neutral victory, which Caller has confirmed is possible. I am not completely against the faction fight which this game is likely to become, but why should I give loyalty to someone who do not even trust me enough to entrust some information?

Is it me or is everyone's argument blatant WIFOM?

It's like some players wants to pick on the YT right now just because. If you've read any of my previous post, you should know what I'm talking about. Okay, if you insist, let me put it in neutral perspective then.
First since there are three recruiters vs one YT recruiter, neutral's chance of becoming YT are much lower than possibility of becoming other faction. If YT manages to grow unabated, it effectively means that everyone not belonging to YT is literally screwed. This demands two strategy: 1) eliminate YT which is likely to become your enemy, or 2) beg for YT to recruit you. This is up to personal choice, but I don't know, I find first idea rather better than second idea.
Second YT recruiter is different from normal recruiter in one thing; they can get killed from choosing faction leader, while other three faction does not have to worry about such things.
Third Something happened, and YT leader is out. With him revealed chance of his victory decreases dramatically- wow, playing as neutral, it's time to change alliance! Oh wait, you are stuck. Too bad.
Even when you are aiming for faction fight, this demonstrates YT is horrible for your individual survival. And if we are going to play as Town, well, getting rid of strongest cult is obv.

All the posts I've made so far regarding the YT, are just questions about our current situation. By all means I'm defending them. It's just a funny observation to see so many people jump on the wagon. What neutral victory? My post was specifically addressed to someone who wants to play individually instead of aiming for neutral victory. Your wording seem to dismiss my arguments by classifying it into my neutral policy, and make me suspect you either are budding up for the YT recruitment or has a role that is aligned positively with YT.

I'm sorry you feel that way. This setup surprisingly doesn't have that much flexibility in its early game tactics, so yeah as always I will blame Caller for creating a setup which encourages individual play. At least I have no motivation to commit myself to some unknown group led by mysterious leader; this is why I was pushing for the neutrals, but like I said looking at the setup I can see why some people would not like it.

By the way, the day is almost over. Everyone should be posting their opinions about who the Radfield should lynch so he have better idea of what to do.
I agree with below post: + Show Spoiler +On May 19 2010 19:24 Radfield wrote:We all seem to be assuming that there is a Yellow Turban 'Leader'. This is really all the rules say about the YT's. Show nested quote + There is also a 4th Party in the form of the Yellow Turbans. They may recruit anybody but faction leaders and Yellow Turbans cannot be recruited. However, if the Yellow Turbans try to recruit a faction leader, they all die.
Nothing at all about a leader, which would kinda make sense if the YT's started with more then 1 person. They're more like mafia, collectively making decisions. Anyways, who at this point is most likely to be a Yellow Turban? I think for starters we should look at the people who are voting for me. Why me? For starters because a bandwagon started up on me, and second because I indicated I would simply vote off whomever was being inactive. No threat at all to a Yellow Turban, and a great place to hide. So lets see who voted for me(minus myself): Johnnyspazz Brownbear Hesmyrr Abenson DarthTheinAn TwoToneTerran Falcynn Last Romantic Tricode Xelin Trezguet Jugan Last Romantic hasn't actually posted in the thread. Darththeinan and TwoToneTerran have contributed basically nothing. I don't really feel like examining the rest, as I'm not particularly motivated to search out the YT's or Faction Leaders at this point. But I think it's likely that there are a couple faction leaders and a couple yellow turbans in this bunch, possibly all of them. Thoughts anyone? Does this seem likely? Or am I reading too much into this?
Post # DarthThienAn 3 Falcynn 4 Last Romantic 0 Tricode 4
I will agree with death of either one of the above. Opinions?

Caller clarification time :p Can you publicly state which player will be mod-killed before Radfield has to make his decision?
|
L is lurking pretty hard indeed.
|
True. I just ignored LunarDestiny because I hell in no way have desire to check the post count of all players; neat list Redfield proposed seemed enough to me.
|
@Bill Murray That means nothing. I specifically pointed out this four people to see what would happen; I believe faction leaders will be more interested in keeping himself alive rather than uninterested Townie. This is why I removed all those who voted in wrong format from my current suspicion list- faction leaders, while lurking, are more likely to pay attention to development of the game. Hell, if you are faction leader, and you are being targeted, would you pop up or just lurk? Also "waiting for something to happen" could be convenient excuse; he can keep actively lurking for quite a while, saying "lol I'm not recruited yet" when someone points this out.
|
Uttermostly, lynch is gonna be soon underway so I hope Radfield decides nicely. Urrg x.x
|
Still, early death of one faction vastly increases the chance of neutral victory. And if another faction leader gets himself killed during the night, well, we can all agree that working toward neutral victory is sound idea. If there are investigative role that either checks player's name or alignment, they should speak up tomorrow if they hit a faction leader or at least someone with an alignment.
|
Well, the day is turning out to be developing well. Either way we have Yellow Turban or faction leader in the bag :p I also have several information I wish to share, but before that I want to ask Tricode for clarification. Tricode, you are genuine in your claim you are DT not vig, right?

Okay I'm back, and I have also coordinated myself with an anonymous tracker. I am Lu Xun. I will posting my plan soon.
