In Mafia you get wins you don't really deserve and losses you don't deserve either.
Think about the other factions. Mafia sat on their fucking ass all game and the SK managed to hit townies at the end when he was aiming for scum.
Anyway, you didn't really play badly. I still had a townread on you ^^
EDIT: To VE: I wouldn't have bloody had to shoot Matt if you hadn't unvoted him

Ouch!
That was a day that started with good intentions (the marv is no longer scum thing), followed by a really bad no-lynch followed by a ROFL WTF shot. When it rains it pours.

Obviously I'm only poking fun at VE. But it does go to show that despite all the shit that went on day 1 and day 2, we had actually arrived at a majority for a scum lynch on day 2 by hook or by crook, with just a little bit of emotion/bad luck that prevented it.

No matter how hard we tried we failed to lose this game

Swings and roundabouts dear. I had 3/4 scum day 2 in Magic Mini Mafia and town lost that one.

honestly this might sound retarded but the end result was pretty funny.
One guy is left alive, the one person no one else in the game truly noticed for the most part. All 3 factions failed somehow and no one really had a satisfactory result. It might have been labeled as a town victory but really no one truly won lol.
one of the weirdest endgames I've seen, for sure.
e: as for the shit flinging thing, it's all circumstantial but I think it comes down to the risk vs reward and the reasoning of the players.
It's truly hard to tell what VE's alignment is, for at least me personally. However in these types of situations with him and with other players in the past it has come down to small things. In LI it was because VE failed to answer a simple question about a scumread. During that I thought Toad was town for the longest time until his completely unnecessary and really bad vet claim (at which point I doubted that read too) although that game was prematurely ended, so no one really found out what the result would've been.
I myself have caused these types of situations as scum mostly. In Couples Therapy I destroyed the thread by calling chaoser scum and twisting everything he said. It netted us the medic (because of a GM fake claim lol) and it was one of the most controversial endgames I can remember. That's an interesting read and it particularly shows why these types of things are so profoundly damaging to town.
I've done similar things in almost all of my scum games bar my most recent ones (because people really like vigging me when I'm scum and I get scum in setups I don't like lol). My first scum game I did it against Nisani and in Storm I basically did it with everyone.

hey bugs, HEY. Town won. TOWN WON yo.
But yeah the end was funny.

It is probably appropriate that this is my first win then. I have a weird mafia record so this fits in perfectly.
I know bugs is capable of causing a shit fest for scum, it is his style that alerted me to the possibilities.
Bugs, you joining in Ver's game?
|
I might, dunno yet.
I've been kinda wary of weird setups cause I have balance issues with most of them lol
e: well recently I've cared about balance but I think I might join it since I wanna have a fun game. dunno yet

Given the crazy setup I am sure there will be imbalance stuff but that is half the fun. It looks like everyone for himself which should make things interesting.

I've read about half the post-game comments and honestly the fact that I was that easily determined as scum in end-game is a huge failure for me and all I need to know that I need to work on. I shouldn't have to fake-claim in endgame if I've played correctly. That's why I just shut up for the end of the game. If I've already been determined as anti-town then an SK fake claim is going to do nothing for my own personal growth and I didn't want to throw any more pressure on my teammates. I believe it's Ace's guide that says "if you can't say anything that will keep yourself alive then don't say anything at all". I was dead in the water so I stopped posting. Worked out well because I was busy all weekend but that's just lucky.
I think I played better than my first scum game but I had better town against me. One thing that pissed me off was the whole "Oh, he's being protected so he must be important scum" argument. As me and Mattchew showed and VE and Toad showed in LI and others have shown in the past, relying on connections is dumb as shit. Mattchew was scum in the water on day 1 when he clearly didn't give a shit what marv's response to his question (and his question was dumb and you guys should have called him on it [look at Mini X where town calls wiggles out on his dumb question]) and prplhz was... lynching MrZ for no damn good reason and should have been called out too.
I just want to play town again so I have a chance to call people out again on things like this. At the same time though, I was terrible scum myself. I was looking for easy town mistakes that I could call out on people and it fucked me because slOosh immediately recognized it.
SlOosh for town mvp imo.
Don't really care about the rest. I learned a bunch and I will be better for next game TL towns so watch the fuck out (except if you mislynch me when I'm town Imma be pissed).
Probulous, hopefully one day we'll be on the same team. Glad to gift wrap your first win for you buddy . Maybe next time you'll earn it :D hwehwehwe!

yeah but the problem wasn't that you would incriminate teammates by claiming something. The point of claiming SK at that point is that even if town thinks you're some sort of scum, they don't want to kill SK even though the SK is an anti town player.
The whole point of Ace's quote of "go down without saying a word" is so that noob scums don't incriminate their teammates or give away information when it could be possible to just afk and wifom the town out of a lynch. Obviously that wasn't going to happen.
If you stop posting then you resign yourself and your team to lose. You should know that in a lylo situation town will be wary of killing the SK (while mafia can't shoot the SK without sacrificing a KP) so it should be a no-brainer. Force a 1v1 and manipulate your way into lynching the other guy = victory. It's not much work, really. It's just one cycle in which you actually have to think and do something; for the rest of them you can coast by if town is killing themselves.

So you're calling me retarded for picking you out as roleblocker for reasons *you* fail to properly grasp. Thanks bro.

I didn't mean for it to come off as harsh as it did. You played well after the whole VE thing ended and deserved the win.

Thing is, normally I agree with you, one at a time. But when town are already outnumbered and you need to pick out a particular role, you have to be more wide-ranging.
Interestingly 'connections' suggested most of all a matt/prplhz/snarfs team, but my read on Shrafts screwed with this.
e.g. a couple of things from my notes on you:
"Day 1, wishy washy. pressures prplhz but never follows up." "'attacks' matt but no real pressure."
On Matt:
"odd jibe at prplhz." "attacks prplhz for timing on Zeph case. Backs down because of error. So just rastaban/marv."
or prplhz:
"kinda attacks matt"
i.e. a lot of interaction that wasn't REALLY interaction.

Yea, I was reflecting on a lot of that myself. Definitely something for me to work on, and I appreciate you posting your notes for me
