about the WBG part. Nice job quoting the 3 posts that don't explain much while ignoring the other 10 explaining everything btw.

oh didn't know I have to explain things beforehand instead of explaining things as we go to make him talk and explain himself instead. Will write that one down.

Generally speaking, there is a 75% or higher chance that if we kill someone on the first day that we will end up in a worse predicament than we currently are. I understand that our streets have been taken over by scum at night, but fear is not a reason to lose all our civil rights and obligations. As a productive member of society and an established citizen of this town, I plead that we take it easy today and allow our local police force to run their investigations before we strike. Saying that you'd like us to consider going for a no-lynch on Day 1 and just waiting for Day 2, so that we can possibly get a check in, or at the very least have something to talk about. Later, you come in with your analysis of Palmar, which is cool that you made it, but after re-reading, one thing that stuck out to me was that a majority of the posts and behaviour of Palmar that you draw on comes from before you made your no-lynch post. In-between your no-lynch post and your analysis, you were called out by a couple players for not commenting on the game (which I disagree with, but whatever). So, the analysis came after that. So, my question to you, is when did you become suspicious of Palmar? The timing of the post combined with the posts you draw from don't really fit when put into the context of your no-lynch post. You ask to no-lynch, then later you make a post saying Palmar is scum, which is fine, because you can change your mind, but your analysis is all based on stuff Palmar did before your no-lynch post, so if you found it to be so scummy, why didn't it strike you before? So, to me, it looks like you made your no-lynch post, got shut down, then went back and looked for someone to make a case on. What gives? Keep in mind that this was his first post in over 12 hours. I would expect a townie to have read the thread, made some reads, and then make a post about who he thought was scummy and why we should consider lynching them. On the contrary, his entire post is about one puzzling aspect of Eywa's play, and he doesn't show any interest at all in lynching Eywa. It just seems like such a relatively unimportant thing to make a post about when Wiggles hasn't even shared scumreads yet. It gives me the feeling that he just arbitrarily picked something to make a post about. Now, he is in the thread bantering with iamperfection and Vivax, but not pushing any reads. @Mr. WigglesYou've been talking about Eywa but you don't think he's scum. I want to know who you do think is scum and why. I've been forming reads, but most of them are town for now, so there's not much point in posting those unless one of them is actually up for the lynch.
As for scum, I agree with WBG's assessment of Zelblade. I find what he said to be true. I also don't like Zelblade's return post, because it's more of the same. He just comes in and keeps being all wishy-washy.
On December 20 2012 03:58 zelblade wrote: I really don't see how that makes me scum. I find eywa's case on palmar to be fairly interesting actually. Palmar seemed to be fairly townish to me on my initial read due to a couple of reasons such as him pushing for a eywa lynch at that point, though the case does raise up some interesting points. Would like to hear palmar's response to it.
Its 3am here for me, and I am rather tired. Going to sleep now. Mentioning Eywa's case, he doesn't say if he actually thinks Palmar is scum or not now, he just says that he thinks the case is interesting, and he wants to see how Palmar responds. So, he's not taking a stance one way or the other, which makes bringing it up fairly pointless besides just making him look like he's contributing.
I also get scum vibes from Vivax. His cases on why people are scum right now are pretty laughable, in a scummy way.
Here's where he votes for WBG:
On December 20 2012 04:26 Vivax wrote:Show nested quote +On December 19 2012 21:03 Palmar wrote: In return, I'm willing to extend the invitation for anyone in the thread to challenge me to analyse any player's alignment based on their posting so far. Obviously I cannot write a lengthy analysis on everyone in the game, so the first 2 suggested I will check out. If your offer is still valid, I'd enjoy if you took a closer look at stutters (for my post) and sciberbia (for not showing up since he wrote his case), also, Bugs instareading sciberbia as town was quite suspicious play. He didn't even give a fuck about what he wrote. And speaking of Bugs, I'm in for lynching him for shitting up the thread with his massive quotations and throwing around brainless votes. He's just causing confusion and refusing to cooperate. Still, do me a favour and take a look at my case :>. ##Unvote ##Vote Wherebugsgo His main reason for lynching him is that he's throwing his vote around and making posts with lots of quotations. There's not even any reasoning there. Townies can throw their votes around just as easily as scum, and in fact it can be useful sometimes to get a reaction, and making a big post doesn't shit up the thread unless you don't know how to use a scroll-bar. Big posts also have nothing to do with being scum.
I thought it could be a joke, but he's kept on keeping on when it comes to WBG, and along the same lines too, so it looks like he's actually serious about it. A little more reasoning comes later, but it's not very well explained. So, it looks a lot like someone who needed to come up with a reason to throw out a vote and he came up with that hilarity. i.e. Scum that needs to look like they're scumhunting.
I'm not really liking Palmar's play either right now. I tend to agree with a decent amount of what Eywa said, and his recent posting isn't comforting. It seems mostly like he just wants WBG to take the lead. For example, instead of just voting for me, he asks WBG why we aren't lynching me, which I don't like. I'm not sure if I want to lynch him yet though, because I think Palmar's scum a lot of the time on Day 1, but I've found that if I give it an extra day or so, he's either able to show he's town, or you can just kill him because he's scum. That's held true in the past.
Also, he must be Santa Claus. He lives in the North, and spends all his time making lists and checking off who's been naughty or nice.
tl;dr: zelblade/vivax for lynch, IGMEOY Palmar/Santa

I think it's weird that you don't want to post about people when they aren't in the thread, this isn't a chatroom, so I'll treat this as a bad excuse, so much for your judge me as you like. What is your opinion on Morbidius now? Doesn't look like you bother to scumhunt as much as you bother defending yourself.
There was nothing to post about relating to you at that point. I asked my question and any other post would have essentially been a rehash of that qurstion in regards to my interaction with you. Okay done playing dota. Will go to bed but I've got some time to explain a little before I go to sleep because you seem to misunderstand what I posted so far:
- I did not vote or consider you scummy for the Kenpachi rule at all. I voted you because you said "Telling people is a scummy thing! I totally did that once as town as well" which obviously doesn't make sense at all. When you said something along the lines of "I did that once before" I did not realize you were referring to the act of being *caught* by a Kenpachi-trap. I thought you were referring to the act of calling someone a VT as well and screwed up because you were town that game
- We had a bunch of people calling you weird around that time. No need to pressure vote when the point gets across without a vote. That's why I didn't vote you. Also because it's based on a screw up that could have (and it was...) poor wording of yours.
- My vote on WBG has NOTHING to do with his unwillingness to publicize all his reads. My vote on him has EVERYTHING to do with him laying a trap / reaction-fish while shouting "GUYS, don't tell anyone but what I just posted is just a trap, I'm only reactionfishing so don't worry if it looks weird". That defeats the purpose of his trap / reaction-fishing and is either incredibly defense / desperate if he really intended to reaction-fish (because he explained it although he should not have) or is sabbotaging his own "plan" because explaining people that you're laying traps / reaction-fishing is something that ruines the results.
- Generally speaking I'm more in favor of voting people I already played some games with. That's why my vote on WBG is so "fast" in comparison to the never-to-be vote on you.
- I didn't think you'd take the one you quoted from Chrono honestly. Yeah I remember that one but I was mafia that game. People usually don't give a shit about what people said while being mafia. Obviously if you know me you know that I'm an exception in that regard as I don't ever lie as mafia unless I have to (e.g. alignments, my own role) but I don't think you know me well enough to know that, so I thought I would have to search for another game and I didn't want to do that. And honestly I don't remember when I said something along those lines in a game the last time (except for Chrono). Those kind of statements are things you'll usually find pre-game, post-game or in a obs-QT because I don't like saying something as pointless as that in a game unless I have to because I'm asked about it.
- I'm someone who explains his thoughts as I go. That means my thought process is a combination of posts and I never reveal my entire reasoning for voting someone when voting someone. I want to discuss with people about it and that's usually better done the way I do it.
Has some downsides as people who aren't actively reading the thread keep on misinterpreting what I said because they take a single post of mine and look at it alone instead of looking at what actually happened in total. That's a good way to figure out mafias as well if you ask me, just not for convincing people to vote the guy I am voting at all because as mentioned, people keep on not figuring out what I'm actually talking about half of the time. Or at least people are talking about useless stuff in my posts that are mere sidenotes to strenghten my point of view, reducing my argument to those sidenotes while ignoring my actual point I'm trying to make. Just like you just did with my explanation on WBG.

I don't remember the correct word right now ) considering that he did the very same thing or it makes him someone faking emotions for whatever reason.
3) That's odd, because your reasoning up to your vote had to do only with him not publicizing his reads, as shown by the quotes

I have no reason to make public reads that are better off being developed in private. Tainting reads by giving your targets forewarning that they're being watched carefully is generally (I've found) a good way to ruin them, at least on day 1.
That's why I like to observe, for the most part, or at least cause some reactions, without putting forth all of my motives. really doesn't work bugs. The only reason I didn't say it more clearly is because after all there might be someone stupid enough to go all batshit about your first vote. Noone did. You're still going with it? Why are you explaining what you're doing when your "plan" revolves around being a trap? Again, why are you still going with it? On December 20 2012 00:28 Toadesstern wrote: Actually

I really don't see mafia NOT telling someone who's not a vet (assuming team mafia is not vet only :p) to vote bugs for his vote. Neither do I think that not a single mafia thought voting bugs might be a good way to place a vote after his vote.
There, now you've got your reaction bugs.
you're other reasoning came after. I will tackle that in a later post
4) That's incredibly stupid reasoning if you were town 5) I can't take your word for this one either way. You could be town being honest. You could be scum lying. My problem with this is I asked what other games you did it in. You failed to respond properly, and instead wasted my time 6) Making a post-vote reasoning post on you. A big problem of yours is saying that that was your reasoning for voting him, where your comments before that said otherwise.
I really don't like your responses in 1-4. Your 5 and 6 are excuses of playstyle which I will have to examine further. I still think your scum
Next part coming in a bit

EBWOP
on 2) poor wording choice by me

ah shit I gotta rethink 3 lol

Ok toad I think I get it now on point 3)
So your problem with WBG is that he stated he just looks to cause some reactions with his day 1 posting, and by stating that he ruins the purpose of his posting, correct?
I would like to ask you: isn't that what we all are doing anyways??????? Isn't that already known by everyone?
Last time I checked we already know that.
Why does that ruin WBG's plan? Just because someone knows that he is looking for a reaction, does that mean that they know exactly what reaction he is looking for from scum?
The answer is no. It doesn't ruin his plan. He can still gauge reactions, since scum do not know exactly what he is looking for in reaction
Also, one more thing, although you say you do lay traps for people day 1, does that mean those people know exactly what the trap is?

Debears I'm not sure what you're trying to accomplish by arguing with Toad. Right now this conversation is a bunch of stuff that's pretty pointless. If he's going to be bad and call bugs scum, let him. I don't know why you care.

I see youve only really talked about ewya I am at work at the moment so I don't have my notes but I'm suspicious of iamp and wiggles too. iamp I believe I have explained but wiggles I'm sheeping from Palmar/Bugs mostly.
His defense of himself against their accusations isn't very inspiring, either.
Toad to me reads like bad town tunneling. Vivax is on my radar for being useless. Other players haven't done much.
I threw the sciberbia thing out there because of all his setup focus but his cases make me read him interested so I've changed my opinion.
You I don't have a read on. I'm inclined to read you town because you explained your D1 tendencies to me once and you seem to be fitting that. I just don't know what to think about this Toad thing you'be spent so much time on.

Your response to sciberbia? I forgot to mention him.

On that topic, what do you think of Vivax besides that you think he's been useless? Agree/Disagree with my assessment?

Don't be so obsessed with semantics. You responded to an accusation. It doesn't matter if you call it a defense or not, you defended yourself by giving scum reads when asked to by a person who said he was suspicious of you. And most of them I feel were uninspiring. You pick zelblade, Vivax, and Palmar. Zelblade is the other scum read from Bugs/Palmar, Vivax is a solid point, but Palmar deserves no suspicion. Your thought that Eywa's case had good content is not encouraging for my opinion of you.
So you get 1/3 points for a believable and original scum read. But then you lose that point for agreeing with Eywa. Not looking good, bud.

But then you lose that point for agreeing with Eywa. Not looking good, bud. Why does Palmar deserve no suspicion? Please explain. Otherwise, you get 0 points for no reasoning. Your filter doesn't provide any explanation either. There's also a difference between having a town read, and saying he doesn't deserve any suspicion, so don't try to get off the hook by saying he's a town read of yours. So, what's wrong with people examining or being suspicious of Palmar? Is there some reason you don't want people to look at him?
You also didn't answer my question about what you think about Vivax. It's a solid point. How? Do you agree that he'd be a good lynch target? Do you think he's scum, or just that I made a good point?
