Holy crap...
this is Amazing!

There are no night kills right? Do the members of any alignment know each other from the same alignment or not, or are they like mafia, town and third faction? Does +1 hp (being a veteran/getting a vest) work on assassination votes aswell? Or is the assassination unblockable?
Also what is the order or character creation - alignment determination - start position choosing - round 1 start?
tbh if done well this has a potential to be REALLY good!! Like a game combined of diplomacy / risk / rpg / mafia.

no night kills in the traditional sense. combat is all positional based.
the benevolent and malevolent players know who is on their team. neutral players do not.
assassination is unblockable but dead players can be revived if a support chooses so.
players can choose any race/class/starting position they want alignments are rng by host

what does a recruiter do? recruits someone to your alignment?

yes

Do abilities have same range as attacks? If this is the case i am not sure i would ever consider picking anything other than Human + Specialist. Like there is no way no to counter that right (especially since it is not even bad for the recruited player)?

yes abilities have same range.
elven warrior would counter human specialist.

right, so they can like move 2 spaces in a turn?
I am not really sure if it "counters that" since roleblock is not an effective counter, sure it counters the ability but when the ability in itself is not "disasterous" for you, why would you roleblock someone who makes you their alignment? I mean like regardless of their original alignment (and yours), you end up with more information (= better chances to win).
This situation also assumes i happened to try to convert a player who has the EXACT combination of those (race/class). + if i have talked privately to that person, the only other option is that i am lying and trying to kill them with a range 2 attack, which, if it was the case, would be bad for me (especially early on), since i give away me being human + warrior (or any killing class) if the dude pops dead at the end of the turn.

player races are known at start of game so the range wouldnt catch anyone off guard. roles and alignments are not known
you would have to potentially deal with 2 people if recruiting from the good or evil team and I dont think they would let it happen without conflict considering you are leaving yourself pretty open for attack.
hmm.. would you remove the +1 range or the recruitment to balance it? the range is probably the most powerful ability if say 2 players with range teamed up it would be hard to counter.

I am not sure yet. I am not even sure it is imbalanced. I am just trying to figure out if it is or not (basically trying to theorycraft to break the game so it can be balanced if it is not).
Let's first think if it is imba and if it needs to be removed / given counters to.
Like let's say you are a human specialist from any faction and i am anything from any faction. You PM me and tell me that you want to convert me. My chances are: 1) You are telling the truth 2) You are lying and wanna kill me with range 2 attack
If (1), i am not sure, why i would not want that? - If i am a member of neutral ppl, the worst case scenario is that i learn you are neutral too - and then i can always trust you / work with you. The best case is i get converted to a "stronger faction". - If i am a member of any other than neutral, i get converted to a faction that i was not before. I would then feed my former teammates to people - to kill them (obvs, because i am not in the faction anymore). This helps me as any new faction i got converted to, and i am not sure how my former faction would counter that, since there is the assassination vote. It's not like they can go all screaming "kill rayn" because why would other people kill me instead of them - at least kill them first? And obviously i at least pretend to be neutral, and rest of the people (who are not "scum") will not know that.
If (2), let's say you kill me. I would say that this is, at least early on in the game as bad for you than it is for me. I am not sure, if you are a human + killing class, why would you wanna give that away early on, because it effectively removes most of the benefit you get from your class, for killing a player. I don't think that is good play when you don't have to do that (remember, this would be the case -- you would have lied to me earlier). People figure this out and start asking, why did you kill a random person? I am not sure if that is good play for a neutral player at the start of the game, ever. It will probably get you "lynched". Even if you have a revive guy in your team, is it worth it?
Also (3), sure, if i am a roleblocker i can block you. Does it gain me anything? (1) is good for me. (2) is bad for you too, so idk why that would be a good play for you, and i would always take the risk that me dying fucks up your game too, because idk why you would do that in the first place.

how about the recruited player loses all his land when recruited so this would possibly create incentive to avoid being recruited.
|
I am not sure, let me think for a while.
