This is awesome. I can't wait to see the matches between Liquid and EG. Should be some great epic matches. By the way, will replays of these games be provided? Thanks a lot for this Teamliquid.

i heard that day9 was going to do the matches. But come to think of it, thats going to be like...a 4hr stream.. I dont mind really but, unsure if hes able to do all of them :D (i'd pay money if he would though )
I'm in california and I was expecting this tourny to start at 12pm because it says 2pmCET in the other thread...now it's saying 8 CET what does that mean !

I'll definitely follow this. Although I doubt I'll manage to get a beta key (because of my slow net and inexperience with twitter) I'll try to use my twitt account which I created long time ago for a SC2 contest.
What a great way to spend my sat night! /nerd I haven't seen much from tl cept nonys stream and nazgul matches but i wish both sides best of luck! .. I would also love to see good casters like day9 that can provide a lot more insight
Any way you guys could just put this off for about 5 hours? I'm working till 5 pm PST. But, its gonna take me like 20 minutes to drive home, so 5:30 would be sweet. TYVM
XD im so damn lcuky to watch this TLO vs Incontrol is gpoing to be hard to watch cause i like both guys but it will be so damn awsomen and its the opening match XD
I dont think they will do livestream, I think they will make it as they did in TSL.
Cause Livestream isnt really that stable when more than 2000 people watch the same channel.
Now that LiveStream has been in cooperation with Day I'd guess it'd be a bit more stable. And from my experience the lag is not 100% tied to the amount of viewers as I've watched him stream with over 6k viewers and no lag but sometimes it lags with far less watchers.
Every time I look at this thread the starting time, and time zone has changed. It is making it extremely confusing regarding when this event will start. Also, this thread, and the twitter page are showing two different times.
Please get the information up to date, and accurate.

Will there be replays available? Or is it possible to watch in lowest quality possible or something? I tried to watch a few minutes and it looks like i would pay $10 per hour for traffic. Eastern Europe sucks ;(

yes. it appears to be a common thing. When is livestream gonna realize that Day is worth giving millions of bandwidth to?

It did that for me on TL, but it's streaming Day[9]'s old vids just fine on livestream. Livestreamhttp://www.livestream.com/striderdoom Not live yet though.

The calender has the most up to date time.
Beautiful, thank you. Will use the calender as my reference from now on.
I might've been a little concerned if there were no tech issues. The frantic scramble to see if the problem is on my end or if it's on theirs is how I get my adrenaline pumping prior to the cast starting.
On April 18 2010 03:46 Dutzz wrote: livestream prolly doesn't care anyway
Day9 is their biggest channel, so if they don't care they are idiots.
And in the 102th episode Day mentioned that he has been in co-operation with them recently and the LS guys have said that the problem is definitely on their side.
edit: apparently people should post on the forums, source is the stream's uh text.
i wonder how expensive it is to have stuff streamed "professionally". i guess the comm would easily get the money to supply some professional stream for day9...
i mean 4k viewers on a non-working stream. 5 dollars each and you have 20k. with 20k per month you should be able to get some kickass stream...
Poor livestream guys. They probably quit thier day jobs persuing a dream of giving the power of broadcasting to the masses. Fought thier nerves to beg venture capitolists for a bit of money to get it started and lived on ramen while hacking it together. But the one thing they did not anticipate was that day9 would show up and post his awesome videos on a daily basis, crashing their site almost perpetually.

Out of curiosity (don't know how usstream works) are these games going to be put up on nevake or viewable later? Or did we lose that with the switch from livestream?
He played under Incontrol's account so does that mean he actually does not have an account of his own or does he just not want people to know his account?

Take a wild guess as to why he would need to be on an American players account.
lagging stream almost an hour delay replays instead of live, even if its only one series lagging stream you could see how many replays / games there are you can see the time remaining on each replay lagging stream
Well what I was wondering was what does this mean?: Retweet this announcement during the match and we will randomly select 5 retweeters to win! 4. 1 winner will be selected after each game 5. We will contact you via twitter and you will need to @teamliquidnet us your TL user name if you win. We will pm the key there.
What announcement? is there an announcement on twitter? And what does @teamliquinet us mean?
lol so i take the incompetence of the camera guy into account and leave the window minimized and look away until he puts that flist over the replay bar. when he finally does it i maximize and look back on the screen and there he goes minimzing his flist again for no apparent reason, spoiling the second game as well... TL is not that stupid, the commentators are sent three replays even if it goes 2-0, this time the third game was actually the same file as the first game. =P

Justin.tv is bad because it limits the amount of connections outside of the US per stream. So a stream that goes over 4K will be impossible for most non-US members to see.

Ya Justin.tv is bad because of that, but couldn't Day9 open a paypal account we could send money to so he could buy the premium server there? I'm not sure how much it costs but seeing as there's so many active fans of him I'd guess we'd be able to pay for it.

stream is unwatchable. I've tried 3 diffente sides, everytime the same problem: I can watch with huge lag for a few seconds up to a minute, then the screen becomes black und nothing happens anymore. refreshing didn't work. I'll wait for VOD (hopefully on tracker) or replays, ustream just sucks.

Unwatchable stream... it's fine for about 15 seconds, then goes blank. Never had any issues with livestream though, so I'm wondering why it's not on that site.

I'll try to restream on justintv since lots of people are complaining, quality will probably be mediocre though.
I don't get why it says "You are banned [thegunrun] .. I refreshed the page because I registered on the site and then it said that.. kinda confused here.
Can't believe TLO hold that timing push off. Even with so many mobile spine crawlers it was intense!!
Edit: And I wouldn't dream about beating so many Collossi. But he did nice harass and prevent InControl from simply pushing. That + losing his half ground force made it possible to beat the Toss!

Yeah that was closing in on 7k viewers and I had no lag at all.
Sweet game! TLO's use of spinecrawlers was great, kept him in the game long enough to get the zerg macro machine up and running. He also cut off and killed incontrol's main army when it was separated from his collossi at a key moment. Love it! TLO always entertains!

to the ustream - i was watching it yesterday as well and it almost didn't lag at all, whereas livestream lags always for me, even with worse quality, so
I'm sure I'll get shouted down but I don't think TLO should have been allowed to choose a race. The same way you can't announce Terran ahead of time and then switch to Protoss at the last second, a random player should have to continue playing random.
TLO is the real deal. I was skeptical if he was really that good after the TL invitational, since I haven't seen him in any other tournaments, but he really played well.
His mechanics seem to be pretty solid, and he plays very intelligently. The Thor Drop was fun to watch, but I love how he had an expansion to follow up. That is what separates good play from cheesy play. He didn't go all in and just hope that InC would fall apart, he actually had a long term plan in mind. That last game was also really high level I thought. He droned so hard abusing the cross map positions, and then utilized those spine crawlers beautifully.
Also gotta give props to InControl. He played some beastly PvP in game 2. I thought he would be quite behind after losing two pylons, but his army micro was flawless (and not letting that euro trash talk get to his head). I thought he played the last game really well too, that was probably the best game of the series. Gotta be honest and say he crapped one out in game one, but it happens to everyone :-)
i hate that advertisment, and adblocker doesnt seem to work right those advertisement are the biggest no go about ustream... and the part you are banned... without any reason -.,-
Not sure what advertisements people are complaining about, but the noscript + requestpolicy duo has kept them out of my hair so far. (Requestpolicy is probably the one actually doing the work, but I don't know for sure.)
Machine and Nazgul cross positions on LT, Nazgul opens 10? gate pressure into forge expo similar to Blistering Sands build. Machine goes 14pool/15hatch? Defends 4-5 zealots (due in part to travel time) and his expo about finishes when Nazgul's expo has just started.
Machine uses early lings to take 3rd at gold expo while Nazgul goes into Robo+3gate push build. Machine goes hydra (skipping roach) and the push lands just as Machine's macro goes into full unit production mode (120ish food ling/hydra army crushes 100ish food immortal/zealot/sentry army). Machine counterattacks and ends it.
Same basic builds by both players, but a different shuffling of variables: queen kill early on, two entrance base, and a better timed push to force the gold cancel (& harder to defend gold) made all the difference for Nazgul.

Wow this game of Jinro vs Inka is the most thrilling i've seen in a long time. I find the "base race" kind of boring and stupid. However the tactical positioning of tanks, correctly placed storms, and unit compositions that are more than immortals or marauders are very healthy for the game!

indeed. If only tanks were a little more useful against non-EMPed immortals

Agreed. I think that it's VERY tough for Terran to do any sort of harassment/do anything other than play defensively when both play straight up. Protoss seems to just expand and it's damn near impossible to beat an army with combined Storm + Immortals. EMPs can only do so much.

@ Crissaegrim I dont think lag was the issue there.. Nony had those stalkers move instead of attacking (assuming it's the same as sc1 ) and Nony seemed to just miss those hellions
Smart play, but I'm guessing Blizzard doesn't intend for that to be possible. Wonder if they'll patch it. If they don't then high ground really is worthless.

high ground is alrdy worthless, they dont have the highground advantage liek they did from BW, if u have vision up the ramp or up on the highground, then ur units will do full dmg etc.. that should be fixed.

I dno, I've seen it used since day one - particularly on Blistering Sands via warping in shit using a pylon on the low ground. It stems from the fact you get vision from the low ground from the rocks, I have a feeling it is intentional!
Awesome games big thanks to TL and TeamEG but also to all the casters glhftv, day9 and chill, great job and stream was surprisingly smooth with 9k viewers!
Wow what an amazing series of games. 'Grats EG (WOO!) and an excellent showing by the Team Liquid crew. Livestream sucks, as usual. And wonderful casting from Day9 and Chill...even if Chill got left out of one game.
That was a truly awesome series. I had a couple instances where the stream completely stopped (in every one of the epic game threes, actually ... at key points in them, no less) but reloading the stream solved the problem every time.
Thanks to the glhf..tv guys and, of course, Day and Chill for such a great stream. And the players for great games.
Yeah LZ didn't expect that last one. Two control groups of fast stalkers attacking at different spots is just so hard to deal with for a Terran who fast expands.

Rocked ramps have two little corners where you can still see what is technically the ramp itself without being on the ramp, which are JUST big enough to fit one stalker each! Once one is up there, it's got sight for the rest.
Amazing event after the initial livestream crash. All matchups were top quality and GLHF.tv was more than we could have asked for as a replacement stream!

True. As one of the people who thought Liquid had it in the bag, a 'Well Played, EG' is in order. Also inc, fantastic series vs TLO. Very enjoyable to watch.
Is it wrong that I'm a little disappointed that 4 out of the 5 stream beta key winners were people with 0 posts who signed up today purely for this competition? :/ Wonder how long they'll stick around...
To be fair, with 10-15 games, it's gonna be pretty unlikely that they're all completely awesome. Sometimes someone just mismicros or gets blind countered or whatever and it all goes to shit. See, e.g., almost any day of pro sc.
Just want to chime in alongside all the other folks giving major props to the excellence of the cast. Between the top-notch commentary (as per the usual), the impeccable stream quality and the exciting matches it's two thumbs-up all around.

I think tanks SHOULD be cheaper (100 gas, maybe 2 supply, but it's debatable) but I don't think this had almost anything to do with why I lost. There are so many things I could have improved to give myself a chance at winning - it's not like I played a "Flash level" game.
That being said, some tweaks would probably improve the matchup, as trying to 1 rax cc on kulas ravine is "fun". This is mostly a map issue obviously, but I think that type of map is gonna be around for a while.

Lol, sorry!! I just got completely raped whenever I tried to move out too soon in the practice games I played I guess I over-compensated.

USA WHOOOOO!!!!! Not only irl World Domination but SC2 World Domination as well!!!!
Team USA is like TeamEG + CauthonLuck though right? Team Europe would be like WhiteRa/Dimaga/DeMuslim/TLO/Haypro or something? Maybe morrow nazgul as well.
a) The best USA BW players were Idra and Nony. I would guess that Idra is at least on TeamEG's level right now, and Nony at least probably will be once he actually starts practicing heavily. b) Regardless of actual facts, get used to people determining that their country is the best on the basis of even the slightest of evidence. Note that this rule goes double for Americans - we're way ahead of the rest of the world when it comes to the arrogance of mindlessly assuming we're the best short of overwhelming evidence to the contrary.

I totally agree with this. I experienced no lag or any other problems with GLHF.tv; I often do on Dau9's livestream. It's high time you guys moved over to ustream. LS's epic fail this afternoon was the last straw.
No offense to the observer who was controlling the perspectives of the games, but I wish he could have done a better job of showing the important tech buildings of players or key units. At some points, he didn't select structures that were building and it was only thanks to Chill/Day[9]'s commentary that I figured out what a player was building. Otherwise, the games were pleasant to watch.
Hey guys, I had to leave after Machine vs Nazgul game 2 (what an AWESOME game). Were these games uploaded anywhere? I'd really love to watch the rest of the whole thing, preferably with Day9 and Chill commentary.

Where are the replays? I understand that you all don't know that internet by traffic exists these days, but please think about poor guys in poor countries ;(
Thank you for the streaming, was really enjoyable watching these games played live yesterday along with great commentary. Very well played by both teams.

I know, right?! I feel the same. thegunrun has a nice voice and awesome mic quality. Almost no bg noises. =)
Big thanks to GLHF.tv, I'll be following your twitter too from now!
I loved the VoD's and Day[9] was as good as ever. I was surprised that Nazgul lost so badly. Oh yah and pls spam blizzard about the up-ground blink behind the rocks bug. Its nasty
Sorry for necroing, but I remember this being a great clanwar with epic games and casts, and now that Dallas is over with Liquid owning so much don't you guys it's a good time for a re-match?
