Liquid`Jinro in GSL S1 Code S Ro32 - Today, 11th Jan 2011
Yup, it's finally here! After many long days of waiting, the biggest game of the year so far for foreign SC2 fans gets under way in just a few hours. TLAF-Liquid`Jinro vs EGIdra!
You'd not only be nuts to miss this, but admitting that you did might not be around on the forums is sure to result in much ridicule. The fans are giddy, the hype is sure to blot out the sun and by all accounts this match is going to be a cracker. Of course, the fun doesn't stop there. With Ensnare and Check also in the group, both Jinro and Idra will play more games today as well.
All in all, this evening (or morning) is going to be great, so grab your favourite beverage and join us in the LR thread or on IRC. It's Jinrollin' time!
Liquid`TLO and Liquid`Haypro in Takesen Homestory Cup Il - 15th/16th January 2011
As announced earlier, TLO and Haypro will be in Krefeld, Germany this week where Takesen will be hosting an invite tourney. Be sure you catch them on stream. With the likes of DeMuslim, Socke and Sjow joining them at Take's house and BratOK, White-Ra and Morrow playing with them online, you can be sure that the Homestory Cup II will be epic in all kinds of ways.
Also, our hero interviewer TaKe has very kindly donated an IEM t-shirt signed by TLO, HuK, HayprO, White-Ra, DeMuslim, Day9 and more (including top Quake finishers at IEM) to be won by you! Here are our two heroes holding it up so you can see it. The t-shirt will be shipped by TLAF, so thank you, TaKe, and thank you, The Little App Factory.
How do you win it? No contest, nothing to do - just post in this thread (you don't need to mention the contest or the t-shirt). A winner will be chosen at random.
Liquid`TLO and Liquid`Haypro 1st and 4th in Pokeridol.com SC2 EU Championship - Event Finished
Two assassins pose for a photograph.
Liquid was in Old Blighty last week, and did well in the Pokderidol.com SC2 EU Championship, with TLAF-Liquid`TLO clinching the title and TLAF-Liquid`Haypro standing just off the podium with 4th place. Great job, guys!
TLO's race to the top went through players like merz, Sjow and Select, so major props to him. It looks like the rest period is paying off for our European representative, and we look forward to seeing him in more regional tournaments in the months to come.
While Ret went down 2 - 1 to oGsCezanne in his Code A Ro32 game, he still has a chance of staying in the GSL via his Up/Down games which, if he wins, will move him out of Code B and back to Code A. Look for him to play these matches sometime after this round of GSL Code S/A.
NuubCast delivers once again, with a marathon cast from blamous and Stargirl.
This week, our Protoss hero TLAF-Liquid`HuK throws down against top Korean Zerg IMNestea, so hang on as this duo takes you through poop queens, many spine crawlers and Stargirl's Stalkers™.
This week's LW Errata includes this gem that slipped by our radar the first time around. Please give up and coming gfx hero vinn a big hand for this awesome rendition of the epic throwdown scheduled for today.

man how did I manage to completely miss this Pokderidol.com SC2 EU Championship, that kinda sucks. Happy about the results though, nice to see TLO going strong again. Gonna check out some huk replays now
wtffffffffffffffffffff i just saw the replay of game two of the Pokeridol.com SC2 EU Championship finals, wtf lolol jesus TLO is insane (since someone asked me, replay link : http://www.gamerbase.com/trocadero/SC2R/TLO/Final.zip )
Nothing about HuK getting to 3rd and 4th on TWO DIFFERENT ACCOUNTS on ladder?!?!? Dissapointed.... TLO YESSSSSSS!! SO happy for him.... We need and update on his medical condition too please.
So excited for the matches tonight!!! Unfortunately I won't be able to stay up to watch it live... :/ possibly have class tomorrow morning. But, GO JINRO!!!! GO IDRA!!!! hoping they both advance and give us one of the more epic games of GSL so far (dare I say Clide vs. Leenock level???)
Thanks for the update! Through some miracle if Jinro and IdrA advance that would be awesome sauce.. otherwise it should be an interesting group; hilarious let down if they both fail lol..
Thanks for the Nuubcast as well - it is so freaking cute! hehe

I watched a little of it, and there a lot of good players with some good games, but the streams were god awful. One caster from Ragequit.tv had good video quality, but was very annoying, and just not a very good caster. The other stream had a decent caster, but poor video quality and a bad computer so he couldn't even watch the battles since it would slow down the game. So, while it may have had some good players, it was way overshadowed by the overall quality of the TL Open and SCReddit Invitational.
I hope I can stay awake tonight to watch Jinro v IdrA, it should be sick.
How will I pick between my zerg idol and a liquid member (who is also a man among boys)!?!? I guess I just need to root for both to advance And that is beastly HuK has two accounts in the top 5, liquid dominates all continents!
Another good write up! thank you for the Liquid`Weekly I'm also excited Idra and Jinro are playing, but sad to see the two foreigners duking it out against each other so early :[ leaves us with only one for the possibility of finals Oh well, best of a luck to Jinro!

I know right? I had this same dilemma.
Do I cheer for Idra? Or Jinro?
I'm so torn! Can't you see all this fighting is tearing us apart~!?!
gogo foreigner domination in GSL. i really hope they can both advance as unrealistic as that might seem. also cheers to Ret, dutchman of the swarm! anything can happen in zvz but no worries, you are gonna rip through code B like a baneling in a mineral line full of scv's!
Awesome stuff all round. exciting stuff happening and happened. It sucks that I will miss Jinro VS Idra.... stupid university causing me to actually be focused on other things
I can't decide who to root for, but I feel like Jinro will take a game over IdrA, especially on Jungle Basin. It almost seems as if IdrA's GSL is "IdrA vs. maps" instead of "IdrA vs. players."
wow master league is on the Korean ladder already? Hate having to watch 2 foreigners having to play it out in the first round, i hope they both make it through.
TLO did an awesome job at that pokeridol tournament. Can't wait for the homestory cup. TaKe does a great job for the community, awesome caster, and his english is great
I'll definitely be putting in my 2.50 euros whatever that is in USD, to check this tournament out, even though I'll be missing a few hours each day of it haha, support the community. This is the cheapest HD stream for a high production tournament we'll have, they deserve it. Good luck to TaKe and the players and casters!
huk ladder makes me happy, jinro vs idra makes me happy, tlo makes me happy, team liquid just straight up makes me happy. my day was going poorly before i read this. tytyty <3
The weekly does seem to be a lot shorter this week... nevertheless, Jinro and Idra playing off against each other will be a hell of a game. Hope it's a long macro game to rival Clide vs Leenock!
oh my dear god , my most favouritest players in the world signed a shirt ! ... also day9... =o!!!! i need that shirt... >.> but on a different note - i hope jinro and idra both advance to the next round... itll be difficult since its actually a good group with serious players, but i feel its definitely possible
:O I didn't even know there was a tourny in the UK >.<
Can't wait for Jinro vs. Idra. I really hope they both make it out of their groups (and I hope just as much that their game is a 1 hour long epic macro game of my dreams!)
Lets go Liquid now, show off your stuff. Plus that HuK pack is pretty interesting to watch. Can't wait to wake up early and catch the jinro idra game JINRO FIGHTING!!!
Wow, that is a reaaally cool T-shirt! I take my chances on that epic piece of clothing AND scream like a little baby when Jinro slays us some Gracken :D
This is great, I can't wait to see IdrA versus Jinro. Thats going to be classy. I'm actually going to buy the $10 GSL ticket so I can watch the VODs when I get home tomorrow, lol. Also, that shirt looks legendary... DO WANT. <3 TL
So TLO uh doesn't win anything does he ^^. TLO rollin!
Ah PvZ needed somemore huk in my life.
A note for a future thread: Any chance we can get more details on Haypro? With the recent GSL nomination thread, I was thinking, Haypro is probably one of the most lowkey (now that Jinro is S class) top pros about. There's so little known about him and it'd be lovely if he'd allow it to learn more about him and give some personality to the name.
It's a shame that Ret even has to fight to stay in Code A as he is clearly better than a lot of the players currently there, at least in my opinion. Oh well, hopefully he holds on and stays in Korea.
Awesome to see TLO owning, though, especially as random.
Ahaha I haven't seen the Stargirl casts before, they're really funny I have a young nephew who has similar opinions when I play video games, kids can be so awesome
Jinro and IdrA have to advance, how boring would that be if one goes out already.. tho they have some more or less tough opponents.. tough... but definatly beatable... id say Jinro goes 1st in this group and then its either IdrA or Ensare
anyone know if english VODs are out for Pokderidol.com SC2 EU Championship? I see the link for replays but i think those are just replays, without commentating?
Wtf @ all TLO's all blue flame hellions strat in game 2 of the finals. It must have been a pain in the ass for our Sjow, but certainly stopped being cost effective against marauders and mainly kept working because Sjow was so far behind.
Still, cute multitask with the varied hellion squads in medivacs through the middle.
That shirt might be the geekiest item available on this planet. It will surely increase your rating by 1000 within a week, even if you don't play at all.
How do you win it? No contest, nothing to do - just post in this thread (you don't need to mention the contest or the t-shirt). A winner will be chosen at random.
God... guess I'm not allowed to login to my account anymore, since I have school that I can't skip till 14:30 CET ( The matches start around 12:00 here).
I am posting in this thread AND mentioning the contest and the t-shirt. How cool is that?
My predictions for tonight have Jinro losing to IdrA but advancing anyways with Ensnare. Maybe a bit fanboy for OgS/Liquid, but. Oh well. It's a sad group, want all of them to do well...
Jeah, gL to all foreigners including the european scene. I think EU becomes more and more competitive every day. There's so many good players. GL today in code S for TL and EG.
HuK's ladder performance really is bordering on insanity now, #2 on the masters-list, and looking like one of the few people to challenge him will be.. wait for it.. his other account.
Someone showed the "Gracken vs Gorilla Terran" poster during their GSL match. Pretty good games so far. SO worth going into work late... GSL and I get to miss the boring Tuesday meetings.
This is good, although I'm a little disappointed that we don't get more replays. These guys play a lot of ladder, and one would think that it produces many good games.
Great work Liquid, ALL OF YOU Im really looking forward to takes tourney, a mash-up between great games and an atmosphere of awesomeness it will be to remember
Nice writeup! Now waiting for #23 and some awesome interview of our Liquid Hero :D Oops, I forgot : amazing performance from HuK. Some Koreans must be rubbing their eyes thinking they see double, but soju has little to do with this one :D
Great writeup. Huk goes crazy on the korean ladders, he's been there for a few weeks an already more than a thousand games - way more than I have since the release. I can already see him qualifing for GSL4.

I don't know the numbers but one of them is Darios old account so that's definitely not all Huk.
Oh man all the GSL games today were pretty sweet always nice to see some solid play. Will be even better when Gom gets new maps i hope .) Also looking forward to the homestory cup!
It's time to register and stop only reading, lol. Today's GSL Group H was an amazing show. Jinro showed these koreans how it is to play terran. TLO is by far my favorite player, I expect him to do as well in Homestory Cup Il as he just did in Pokeridol.
Well done by TLO, still going strong after return from Korea. Hope to see Ret hold his Code A title and come back stronger next month! Gonna watch the commentaries when I get back home from work.
I just have a sincere answer: If Huk, Jinro, whatever, plays like +50 games per day, why release a replay weekly pack with only 4-6 games? (this time only 2 but its ok)
