Liquid in GosuCoaching Premiere League Week 5 - Event Finished
Liquid took on Mouz in their GCPL Week 5 game yesterday and went 3-0 to sit near the top of the standings with a record of 4 - 1. Jinro, Ret and HuK bested Strelok, Naama and Mana respectively and carried the team to a clean victory.
Though they didn't perform as expected against Dignitas last week, our boys in blue are still easily in the top four and going into the playoffs soon will no doubt want to shake that loss off and return to total domination. If this week was any indication, that journey has already begun.
Here's hoping for a week with Liquid #1 once again!
Tyler, TLO, Ret and HuK in Assembly Winter 2011 - 11th - 13th February 2011
It's been a while since we saw Ret and HuK in the wild! This weekend they will join Tyler and TLO in Helsinki, Finland for the ASSEMBLY Winter: SteelSeries Challenge.
While TLO is just coming out of a win at the Pokeridol.com tournament last month, Tyler, Ret and HuK have all been off the grid for a while, and it's really nice to see them back on stage. With four Liquid in the running in Finland, we're sure that carnage is incoming, nay, inevitable.
Be sure to join us here on TL as we watch them invade the podium. Liquid fighting!
Just a few days ago, our Protoss in Korea began laddering on EU. Four days later, he hit 4k and world #1. Topping the European ladder also means that he has hit #1 on every major server at some point. HuK 1, Battle.net 0. Here's what our hero has to say.
Hi HuK. Firstly, do you ever sleep? How did you hit World #1 in four days?
HI RIPTIDE <3333333333333333333333333333333333333. Yeah, I sleep, actually pretty well in Europe, considering everything. Just hard work and playing a lot I guess. Plus not that many losses.
Anyway, congrats! Amazing job. What's it like being back on a non-Korean server?
It's easy I guess, lol. The play styles are different. It took me a bit to adjust to the PvP style but other than that, in general obviously it's a lot easier. Of course, there have been a few Europeans who have taken some games off me so shoutout to them - you know who you are!
Ready for Assembly Winter? Does Liquid have something planned for us?
Obviously I'm ready, lol! If I don't win I will not be pleased. I expect 2 of us to finish in top 5 and one of us to win the whole thing (me).
Looking back on the past few months of training and seeing how much you've improved, which areas should fans look for the biggest changes in?
I think I'm a lot faster player. I'm more solid and can play macro style easily but still can all in just as good as I could in the beta. I think my control overall is really good, maybe top 3 in the world. Other than that I just hope they like the games!
We're sure we will. Good luck for the week to come! HuK fighting!

When were Huk 1. on Korean server?
Also you cant realy say his world #1 since you cant compare points from EU with points from other servers.

Still its very awesome what he did.
I though he was #1 in Korea some week(s?) ago. Could be wrong though.
Well gl in Assembly, especially for Ret as he deserves to finally have some big success. Also just noticed that White-ra won't be in Assembly, I was so hoping to see some great Tyler/HuK vs Duckload epic action, will have to wait for TSL
lol I couldn't help but chuckle at the irony of Jinro's gripes concerning Tal'Darim.
He didn't like the fact that vs. Protoss, T/Z have to worry about a race that can either macro or apply extreme pressure but T/Z don't have the same advantage.
LOL welcome to how P/Z have felt about Terran on every other map since Day 1 Beta.
We all need to support AiSeiplo, he's playing very even matches against HuK, TLO, Sjow and Jimpo. He's probably getting casted at Husky's pretty soon aswell. Also, he might be looking for a new team, leaving Alien Invasion.

What? The mobility and versatility of WG mechanics is fundamentally different from what Terran's army is capable if. The only delay is the first pressure p can apply. Regardless of map size, Terran still needs to invest just as much to defend 4wg rushes.
I am so freaking excited for HuK. I've been a huge fan since last year, watching his stream every time I know it's up. I've seen phenominal progress in his play since he's been to Korea and he definatley plays at a Code S level. Very excited to see him in this tournament and the GSL!!!

huk smash indeed, gonna be real interesting to see how liquid does at assembly and if someone loses how. I'd bet it would take a player something else to accomplish that.
Nice writeup yet again, looking forward to the reps in the replay pack.
Also slightly off-topic, I wanted to ask the staff why is liquibet GSL only thing ? It adds some additional small layer of excitement to the tournaments so it would be nice to see it for other tournaments. I suppose it would be done if it was possible so I guess there are some obstacles, I am just wondering if they are technical, too time-consuming or if it is planned/possible ?

For a day or so HuK had #1 and 2 on the Korean ladder qith his 2 accounts. The only reason why he hasn't gotten it back is because of the master's league point reset and assembly.
Wow I just looked through the player list and some big names are in there, should be a great tournament. Good to see HuK back again for sure; that 4 day ladder spree looks mighty impressive.
hi Riptide <33333333333333 haha oh HuK - why so gosu!?
Thanks for the write up - i am really loving HuK's confidence, wants to win, plans to win, thinks his control is top 3 in the world --> PLEASE PROVE TO THE WORLD THAT YOU ARE CORRECT!
I can't wait to see if all that WoW has helped Tyler at all
Lol 4k master league... I wouldn't want to be on the korean ladder right now. It's like being a sheep and asking to be eaten by the big bad wolf. A canadian wolf, might I add.
I'm watching the interview right now, thanks for this Liquid weekly article.
That's how u roll with a huge bonus poll lol. To HuK's credit he has an impressive W/L ratio as well though, looking forward to seeing him play at Assembly. Personally am rooting for Goody owning everyone with 80 apm.
HuK reminds me of MC with the confidence. Now he needs to prove himself at assembly to show that he can back it up in the right circumstances.
Big fan since VT and now to see him ladder like a monster, its nuts. Good luck to all the Liquid fellas! I expect to see some top rankings from all of them!
