Just looking at Hot_Bid makes me feel like I am being trolled. These interviews are great so far but please try to go more awkward... this is like warm-up-phase of awkwardness.
Loving this and loving the quick uploads!
Scarlett has a really deep voice but that doesn't really matter. What matters: Congratulations!!! Pretty cool story coming from the Playem tournament and now kicking ass at IPL4! All the best!
I thought it was funny that her fanclub got deleted, but I looked up the thread and the OP was awful. I'm sure a new one with a better OP will be created.
Awesome interview with Scarlett, hope she keeps going in the tourney and can maybe find a team. Really cool to see someone work hard on their own, get a break, and get a big win like that.
genetically its a guy... so... if a man who was already professional at basketball got a sex change he would certainly be just as good... but all the power to her I dont judge.. its just an awkward situation seeing a female do so well

But that makes it sound like guys are genetically superior in SC2. GJ Scarllett

I'm not sure if you watched the interview, but it seems clear that Scarlett is not a girl.
What you think of her is irrelevant. How she thinks of herself is.
Gender aside, it really is nice to see some new talent rising out of NA. Good for playhem for running that "Sponsor Me" event.
I think we don't know how she thinks of herself tbh, for instance I never heard for her and after seeing that model Andrej Pejic everything is possible.
I am the local TL expert on traps and...study them regularly. I have to say there is a high chance she is transgendered. Which I like : -). Though I was hoping fir a genetic female that was good at sc2 but hey, this is great too.

I hope you and everyone else realizes how vile and terrible of a word 'trap' is.
Taking down a Prime player is awesome, will be cool to see far she goes, good chance of getting picked up by a team too.

She is clearly a darn good player, that's what matters.
she's grand master on NA, let's not get ahead of ourselves here
This just in, girls have real voices that aren't always like 30 rock's "sexy baby." It is hard to see someone nervous though. I was whispered the same thing about how I sounded nervous when I was leading a raid once, which is pretty funny, looking back.

I agree 100%. Have some respect please.
Regarding the TLO interview: HotBids trolling has no chance against the Trollproof hobo beard :-D Also lol at the "Luftwaffe beer"
The deep voice was cause the was talking really softly... First interview at 18 after beating a korean, it's only to be expected.. This was a great job, I hope she succeeds in finding a team It might actually be for her skills and not her looks for once ! (though she still look quite nice)

Couldn't agree more. I really hope IPL puts one of her games on stream. I think it's awesome when a rather unknown player tears up a major tournament like that. Major props to Playhem for flying her out to Las Vegas and sponsoring her for this event.
Hotbid is right in my book, one of the biggest upsets so far. Would never have thought that someone whos name I hadn't even heard at least once beat someone on a korean pro team.
GL Scarlett!
Edit: Oh and Hotbid once again displaying excellent interviewer skills. He can make those super awkward interviews, if he wants, but can be a totally supporting interviewer as well. Kudos
As someone who's known Scarlett way before she started playing in tournies, I can vouch for her skill. She has a somewhat unorthodox playstyle and is damn good.
It's quite saddening to see the comments on this thread. Especially when people were coming out of the woodworks to troll on the Providence Ailuj interview thread accusing her of just getting mainstage because of her looks or whatever, and now when we have an indisputably legitimate female contender for pool play (Came here off the back of a tourney win) who's making a great showing and people choose to be bitchy little girls about her voice or whatever.
On the actual interviews: Hotbid delivers again! I've not seen the TLO one yet so gotta run and watch it before the Stephano vs MKP starts!
Huge upset. Impressive stuff. I do hope Scarlett goes up against another Prime Korean soon. For once 100% of the pressure and nerves will be on the Korean :D
The Scarlett interview and story is very inspirational. I bet she would get soooo many viewers if she streamed -- maybe enough to make a lot of money to support he while she tries to become a pro-gamer.
alright serious question..... i jus wanna know if the person is a girl or boy. i watched the whole interview and honestly couldnt figure it out. someone please answer.

not that i agree with anything people are saying about her. this is kinda expected considering the 'its ok to get famous on your looks' message spread by girl gaming groups up to this point, and now a normal girl is getting judged on model standards. which sucks for her because shes just a normal girl.

OK, just for the sake of discussion... I don't mean to be rude in any way... but what if she's not really a girl? I mean, by birth at least, let's say... It's clear that she's getting a lot of attention not only because she beat a Korean, but because she's a girl who beat a Korean, right?
I'm a professional artist, and I know a thing or two about anatomy, and I see an Adam's apple here...
Does this diminish her achievement on winning against a Korean pro? No, but this is kind of an unprecedented situation IMO...

Indeed it is rude (and stupid). Like saying: Those koreans must be girls - they don't have breads!
She won vs a korean pro. That's a great feat for a new (western) face in the scene! It doesn't even matter what sex or apperance it has. In this case it's a young woman who earned everything (including the right to play) legit. Does it really hurt your ego so much that you have to be a retard?
Smix interview was awesome, hahaha the SC2 Gears voice was on key.
Thanks TrollBid for these interviews. I want to watch the TLO one, but I don't want to contract some beard sickness. Dario needs to trim that just a bit -.-!

I cant believe some people are retarded like that. She just won against a korean pro. THATS HUGE. Im wondering if you have to insulting her because she is a girl and you are so good in starcraft or you just hater. Just leave the forum. Anyways great win by Scarlett and i really like that Smix interview although it's creepy to see the face of replay saved :D

I hope they don't. Watching the interview it's obvious the nerves would get the better of her and ruin any chances of victory. If she sticks around the live tournament scene, et her build up confidence and wins behind the scenes first.
Putting someone so nervous in the spotlight straight up is a jackass thing to do.
I really hope she won't read this thread. Things like this shit going on can really destroy any kind of little self confidence you have when you're a little shy to begin with. Maybe you could just lay off the offensive comments... it has been asked, is it necessary to ask it twenty more times in two pages ? Girls are cute, girls are ugly, girls are normal, girls have a sweet voice, a deep voice, EVERY KIND. Even if she was a man, what is the fucking POINT in this case ? The case is a won bo3 vs a code A korean by an unknown, dot. Was it a guy, he'd have had the exact same kind of interview, there's absolutely NO difference here in the treatment, boy or girl. Of course it's even more impressive since it's a girl.
Just stop the offense, it can really destroy someone if it's false. You don't even realise it.
It seems that everyone is forgetting that this is indeed a PUBLIC forum. therefore, everything being written abt her (scarlette) will be seen by her. I don't think it's proper to be posting comments about her because no matter what the situation is in the end, she will be offended nonetheless.
It's great that she is doing well so far in the IPL4 and that is all we should be talking about. Not whether she is white, black, female, male, transgender, cute, ugly, fat, skinny, blonde, brunette, etc.
TL;DR Just admire her (or hate on her if you really want to) for her sc2 abilities and only sc2 abilities alone.
edit: not to mention the fact that most people have internet access and therefore access to TL forums at IPL4. Imagine what all these extremely dumb and ignorant comments would do to her confidence in her upcoming matches.
If you are reading all of this Scarlette, know that there are a lot of people supporting you and hoping you go far.
Gosh, the retards this site has to offer... Just imagine, she beats a korean pro- gets interviewed for the first time ("you gotta post on the forums now")- comes here, and sees you scum-of-the-online-world dorks spout this bs. I might not "know a thing or two about anatomy", but I sure know a thing about how not to be an immature idiot.
Great job Scarlett and <3 Hotbid as usual- gl on that Maxim contest :D
Edit: Omagad the Smix interview! I guess we can finally confirm the identity of baller! Also "replay saved" O_O

they dont need to tell her its on stream, i think a lot of people are super curious
Just watched the Scarlett interview. 'His winrate in Korea wasn't that good'. Quality stuff, no disrespect to anyone that manages to beat a korean on a first try. Hope she makes it further in and could very well get a decent team offer out of this.
Also: You're all complete jackasses for mocking an 18 year old for her first 'major' 'SC2' interview. Being interviewed for TL is a big deal, especially if you're aware of what gets said about anyone (especially women) on these forums.
So i was having an awesome day and watching IPL, watching the interviews, feeling happy for Scarlett and then wuuuush I read the comments here. Faith in humanity: Lost

Okay, to stop all this speculation ~~
It is true I am MtF transgender, and I kinda expected this reaction. I have never tried to bring attention to myself for anything other than my play, so I don't feel like this should be a big deal
And in regards to the iron lady tournaments, I was invited to play in those by an admin who knew my situation. Most of the girls I know knew about this already and don't judge or care.
In terms of actual play, there is AFAIK no advantage to being born male or female. But, even if there was, being transgender means you are born with the brain of the opposite gender; so I would not have that advantage or disadvantage
All I ask is for people to be respectful and refer to me as 'she'.
Anyways, haters gonna hate; I'm gonna go play round 2 now, cya !
Case closed.
Doesn't change anything, that win was huge. Now we can stop arguing about it and stop the flow of bans/warning and be civil.
Maybe in 20-50 years being transgender won't be such a big deal, and I am sure there are some places in the world, where it isn't already, but come on.. These things take time for every culture and person to work through, and some cultures are in the friggin stoneage about these things..
In any rate, being curious whether the person is transgender or born full female or whatever the term is, is probably not gonna go away ever.. Although that is not for certain..

i am so fucking disgusted with the comments on the youtube page but i guess it's my fault for reading them. great interviews and hotbid seems electrified is he on drugs?
Nice run by scarlett so far, she's gotta be feeling super good about her play. Oz is a tough nut to crack but it would be sick to see her make pools either way. Also fuck the internet community. Sometimes I forget how much moderation is actually needed, it's kind of sad.
I didn't want to get banned earlier in the thread, but I'm glad I can trust my senses in the end :D. Anyways Scarlett you go girl, show them Koreans who's boss. If you somehow manage to beat Oz you will be the biggest winner at IPL4 no matter what happens in the rest of the tournament..

Onto more tourney related stuff. I personally would love Scarlett to beat her 2nd Korean, Oz... Dunno, could be tough though! Love the unknowns coming along and beating their way through a host of top players, always gives a tourney a little something special. Long live the little guys/ gals doing well!
Edit - Oh yeah, MC vs Puma rematch now... A great reason to stay awake (it's 2:12 am here :D).
next round, Wax introduces a whole new awkward dynamic between him and HB! It's a nice change of pace though, Wax puts a dent into HBs perfect run! Lets see if HB can pick up the pieces in the next match with koreans to regain his momentum!

Select gets honorable mentions. Man I love these interviews. Always have me laughing. One interview I'd like to see is Catz. You always have funny interviews with Catz.
Man I wish I could interview HotBid. Haypro, just create questions out of HotBids answers. Like the internet question was excellent there was SO much follow up .
Oh and btw. QXC finally an interview with someone who is socially outward going ! (Well TLO too, to some extend)
A News Post on about Scarlett on esfiworld picked up on Hod_Bid's interview.
“I thought I was just going to play my best, I didn’t think I was going to win,” said Scarlett in an interview with beloved Team Liquid troll extraordinaire Hot_Bid.
I think there's no better description for Hot_Bid :-)
OMG. good shit hotel. fucking seleCT has the best interview omg. "best toilet hotel"
Also, I can attest that Odee does send every sweater himself. When I purchased mine, he sent me an email thanking me for the purchase, and when I hadn't received it in a few weeks, he confirmed it'd been mailed (since he packed it himself, and it probably just got hung up in international mailing). When I finally ran into him at MLG Anaheim and he saw me wearing it, he immediately asked me who I was, and he recognized my user tag when I told him and said he was glad it came through after all.

A lot of people trolling her obviously. You could probably get a better idea of why douche bags would troll her on her fanclub but i'm not going to say it here because ultimately, it doesn't matter.
As always, the interviews conducted by Hot_Bid were fantastic. And a few quick things:
1) Congrats to Scarlett. I hope she continues to do well and it would be nice if people stopped being so inconsiderate to her. 2) dSeLeCT should trademark "Good shit yeah?" 3) Liquid`Haypro is a treasure. I think TL should create a TV show with him as the host.
Interviews were "alrite" this time. Hotbid if you are gonna troll, dont be scared to get trolled back. When you try to show us that you are smarter than your intervewee all the time, it makes it a little awkward...
I really liked the khaldor one, and David Ting seems like such a nice guy.
Sigh at the David Ting interview. Selling out and having regional qualifiers instead of what they did for IPL4. Let foreigners get in if they can don't give a bunch of bad players a seed straight to the main bracket.
Great.....great..... great interviews. Especially your penultimate interview with David Ting.
Wolf is probably my favorite personality and favorite caster tho, he is curiously absent from this page. Anyone know where to point me to an interview of him from IPL4?
Really liked the David Ting interview, sounds like IPL 5 will be amazing, with more GSL stuff too. Also I think he found a good solution to broaden the player pool with different nationalities, but if you think about it, more koreans will want a pieace of US Tournament prize money.
So are there really no more? I really love all the ones hotbid put up, but I feel like he used to make more for previous tournaments and there was no better time and place to interview everyone than IPL4.
I know its a lot of work.. kinda.. but even low quality interviews would be fun!
