Message from Victor Goossens (Teamliquid CEO & Owner)
It has been a great month for Liquid. HerO won multiple championships, we recruited a Dota2 team ahead of schedule, and to top it off, we're officially signing with a new sponsor in Barracuda Networks.
I believe this is a very meaningful sponsorship for Liquid, similar to when Evil Geniuses brought Monster Energy to esports. While many companies have found their way to esports, it is often the case that teams and tournaments dip into a pool of sponsors that are very similar to one another.
When EG signed with Monster, it was significant because a company that had no obvious ties to esports was making a leap and deciding to invest new money into the scene. It wasn't a reallocation of existing funds from one entity to another –- instead it was creating an entirely new flow of cash to help the esports industry keep turning.
As you can see from the video above, Barracuda Networks is a company that is already doing amazing work in traditional sports with their sponsorships. Bringing Barracuda into the esports scene and having an opportunity to show them our value is something that demonstrates the progress this industry has made. It will be Liquid's goal to show Barracuda that esports is worth investing in for the long term.
Ultimately, the goal of the sponsorship is to give Barracuda more exposure through the esports scene. One important way Barracuda hopes to benefit from this exposure is to draw skilled, talented individuals to their company. There is no doubt, esports has a tech savvy audience, and Barracuda wants to reach out to them. So besides the usual things we do for our sponsors, we will be helping Barracuda promote employment opportunities to our fans. If you are reading this and are looking for a great job opportunity, then you can do yourself, Liquid, and Barracuda a favor by sending in an application.
The first thing we will be working on thanks to Barracuda's sponsorship is a new Behind the Scenes video from IPL5. The sponsorship allowed us to send Kennigit to IPL5 to record Liquid's experiences, similar to what he did at the IPL TAC3 finals. Hopefully, with Barracuda's support, we can continue to make these videos in the future.
Someone I would like to thank in particular is Kevin "silverfire" Chang. For the past year he has traveled to several major events such as MLG, IPL, and NASL to shoot photographs for TeamLiquid. His latest work can be seen in the NASL photo thread where he captured more great esports moments. Kevin works for Barracuda, and was able to demonstrate the tremendous impact of the StarCraft and esports community on the technology community as a whole. For that, we owe him a big thanks.
Finally, I would like to say that if you're excited about Barracuda investing into esports, please shoot them a message on twitter @Barracuda, Facebook, or Youtube to welcome them to our scene.

“The amazing teamwork, passion and determination of TeamLiquid and the esports community underpin the innovation that we as a company strive to achieve every single day,” said Michael Perone, co-founder, EVP and CMO of Barracuda Networks. “TeamLiquid is one of the most well-known communities, including some of the most recognizable and respected players in the pro-gaming world, and we are proud to bring on partnerships who share our passion and commitment to the best innovations.”
Sorry dear Baracuda employee, but that is not available as well :D
Sigh yeah, they JUST moved the thread to the link in the OP -.- It was first just a regular link but they moved it to sponsored threads, ffs. http://bit.ly/barracudajobs I swear Kennigit is trolling me.
Nice to see other than the usual hard ware companies bringing money into e-sports! Haven't heard of Barracuda Networks prior to this, but I'll defintely take a look at them and their services!
I've worked with Barracuda (as a customer) before when I worked at UVU. They are a pretty cool company and pretty big as well! Great sponsorship! I hope they get lots of nerds to apply for jobs with them! They are a good company and the fact that they now support ESPORTS makes it seem like an even better place to go work!
We use their Link Balancer and Spam devices at our organization. Good devices, decent tech support - glad to see they are helping esports. Thank you Barracuda.
Nice, congratulations! I think this is a very good sponsor for our community, as there are a lot of tech folks around here (or young guys interested in this field of profession). Very good news
Screw barracuda, they run the school internet content blocker and they block bloody everything. Yet somehow reddit is allowed. I have no idea how that works.

Naniwa
I don't see Nani and TL as a good fit! Nani already is recognized widely and don't need TL for that and TL don't need Nani on their team because of his personality. I think TL would fit better with someone who only recently (½ year) gained notoriety in the SC2 community, which could be Snute, although they need a terran or protoss more than a zerg - Unless if they can score a big big name zerg to make their one-two punch (HerO --> TaeJa) in to a one-two punch and crane kick (HerO --> TaeJa --> gosuzerg)!

I could see liquid'snute actually, although i have no idea in what situation he and/or team liquid is.
But ontopic: Gratz! Very nice sponsor! Always good to see new sponsors, but especially one from a completely different direction.
Very interesting and really new type of sponsorship.
These guys doesn't want to sell you stuff, instead they want to hire you (if you got what it takes)! This seems very clever - they now can reach out world wide, and TL can do something for it's user - getting them closer to a good job!
If this works out, probably other tech companys will follow this example.
My company is in the process of acquiring a web-filtering solution. Barracuda is one of the contenders and this little announcement earns them my vote. Their product looks really solid too
O shit, I am a network engineer and Barracuda Networks just moved waaaaay up. I better learn the devices and start suggesting them to clients. Props Barracuda, support that TL and it will come back to you!
Just recruit Naniwa already. It sucks ass in this Korean vs Korean dominating world that a Foreigner that makes two top 8 in fakking GSL and makes great Foreigner vs Korean series all the time, isnt enjoying the comfort of being in a great team like TL. Also Naniwa has expressed that he would love to join TL.
The comparison between Monster and Barracuda was quite daring. Unless I'm mistaken, Monster has a FY sales revenue more than 100x higher, has 10x more employees and is well known outside of the US. It would be like comparing bringing into esport real Madrid and real Mallorca, if football teams were interested in sc2
However, it is cool to see new sponsors coming in !

Fantastic news, I am a Senior Network Administrator myself. I have seen Barracuda ads in airports but never worked with their equipment. They are supposed to provide a variety of appliances for security, data protection and advanced networking I believe. I work at the largest MSP in the pacific northwest, we use other companies to provide these sorts of services to clients. I will most definitely be looking into Barracuda products in the future, depends how long I work for this company.
Never heard about barracuda but i like them numberz!
I hope you will use all this money to wage a devestating and terribly unprofitable war against EG that will render both of your teams bankrupt and leave a searing crater where western ESPORTS used to be.

Then perhaps you should learn how to research. They are a significant provider of the following services mainly targeting small/medium business clients and corporate clients as well.
ProductsSpam and virus firewall - Web filter - IM Firewall - Load balancer - Message archiver- SSL VPN - Web Application Firewall - Link Balancer - to optimize and aggregate internet connections from different providers Backup services - Purewire Web Security Service - NG Firewall - CudaTel Communication Server (PBX) -
This company could cover TLs sponsorship on there own if they felt the need/desire to. This is a very good/positive inroad for TL to have made. I would argue more significant than Monster Energy Drink.

So they are a B2B company right? I don't think any of those things u listed can be bought by a consumer. And why was their original post like "we have so many jobs apply for them plzz" ?
Just seems weird to relate these things to eSports. At least I can drink a Monster

From the sounds of things, these jobs probably aren't for you.

They have so many jobs and like all copmanies are willing to spend 5 minutes issuing a statment which includes we are recruiting talented individuals and we don't care where we find them as long as they are the best at what they do.
I think its time the pizza delivery boy goes back to filling up his gas tank and washing his windshield. The obvious eludes him.
