It's pretty damn awesome to be sponsored by the guys who make the best chairs in the business. Talk to any pro who has ever used one of NEEDforSEAT's chairs, and he'll tell you that they are incredible. Progamers need the best equipment possible, and that's not limited to just keyboards and mice. NEEDforSEAT is a company that understands this, and they've filled the important role of making high quality gaming chairs.
To attest to the quality of the chairs and the strength of this partnership, Team Liquid already had several players using these chairs before this sponsorship came to be. Ret has been using a NEEDforSEAT chair for a long time now, and you could see it frequently on his stream. Many players are used to playing in the chairs at tournaments sponsored by NEEDforSEAT and have really come to like them. The chairs even attracted some attention from the Korean media when HerO got so fed up with the default Proleague chairs that the team started bringing one of the DXRacer chairs from the EG-TL house to Proleague matches. Interestingly enough, HerO's win rate shot up after that. Of course, you can't attribute a huge swing in performance to just a chair, but there's something to be said about always making sure you're in the best possible condition to play.
NEEDforSEAT is a sponsor that we can promote without a second thought. Liquid was already using their chairs before, and to recommend them comes naturally. We're currently in the process of shipping more chairs to our players so that soon enough, you'll see everyone using these chairs on their streams. We are glad to form this partnership with NEEDforSeat and we hope it can go on for a very long time.

Liquid`HerO's Seat of Power
Even before he was sponsored by NEEDforSEAT, Liquid`HerO was one of the most visible users of their chairs in the StarCraft II world. Unhappy with the seats being used in Proleague studio, HerO got EG-TL to bring one of NFS' chairs to every match, making them a frequent sight at Korea's Yongsan and Shindorim studios. We asked HerO for his thoughts on Liquid's new sponsor.
When did you first use NEEDforSEAT's chairs? What was your first impression?
I forget exactly when this was, but it was back at a small tournament that Fnatic were running at their team house in Korea. They had DXRacer chairs there, and I tried them out for the first time.
I immediately noticed that they were comfortable, and I thought that it would be nice if I could use one as well when I practiced. I remember even asking Fnatic where I could get one.
What in particular do you like about the chairs? What's different about them compared to other chairs?
I like that it feels snug and comfy to sit in, like it's enveloping you. Also, it's convenient to adjust the height of the armrests, which is an important thing for gamers.
It was very noticeable when EG-TL started bringing NEEDforSEAT chairs to Proleague games. How did that come to happen?
With the formation of EG-TL and the closing of the Fnatic house, we got an opportunity to use the NEEDforSEAT chairs at the EG-TL team house.
The chairs at the Proleague studio just didn't fit me in general, whether it was their overall height or the level of the armrests. When I suggested to coach Park that we bring the chairs to the matches, he agreed wholeheartedly because he wanted to do anything that might help us play even a little bit better.
Are the other players on EG-TL affected a lot by the chairs they use as well?
While every player does care about what kind of chair they use to some degree, no one thought that we should go as far as to take our own chairs to the studio. You have to admit that after I suggested it, our performances did get better.
You have a big win-rate difference at the Yongsan studio before and after you started taking the NEEDforSEAT chairs there. What do you think about that?
That is true. It's the same chair you're always sitting in at the team house, and the same chair you've been practicing in for so long. You can adjust it whatever way you want when you play, and it gives you a comfortable posture. I think all of that combined helped us get better results.
Because of that, you picked up some new nicknames in the Korean community like King Ui-ja (a medieval Korean king whose name is as homonym for 'chair'). How do you feel about those nicknames?
Having nicknames is a good thing. It shows the fans' interest. It gives you a unique character that only you can have, and I'm grateful for it.
What do you think of NEEDforSEAT now sponsoring Team Liquid?
I was surprised when I first heard the news. I remembered trying their chairs out at the Fnatic house a long time ago – I guess everything is connected like this. I want to thank NEEDforSEAT for making such a great product, and I'm proud that such a company is sponsoring Team Liquid.
I have a question. Why doesn't the TL site also sell Razer or NFS products in the store tab? I would love to support TL and Razer or whoever at the same time by buying through TLnet.
Can anyone attest to how long these chairs will last? Most of my office chairs end up in poor condition after a few years. Are they made from durable materials?
Now I am pissed! I always wanted a needforseat chair but they dont sell it in Brazil. Now they sponsor TeamLiquid and I want to support them.... double frustration! :/
Sweet! Bought mine after an Homestory Cup like 1-2 years ago and even wrote the CEO how I mainly tried it because I saw it from TaKe. He was really nice and I have to say those seats do indeed rock
Was cool to the point I had my card ready to buy one listing TL as the reference.. But 100 bucks for shipping to Canada (cheapest option) is DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANG.
Happy for TL its a great sponsor not just because they sponsor esport, they just make really good chairs. I own one for around a year and its still like new and worth every €.
Damn, sick pickup guys! Also I love that Need For Seat is sinking so much money to the business. I've wanted to buy one for a long time, and now I think I will.
dat implication "You have a big win-rate difference at the Yongsan studio before and after you started taking the NEEDforSEAT chairs there. What do you think about that?" :D
Nice, i bought one of their chairs 2 weeks ago, it is really comfy so far i'm happy with the purchase. Only knew about them because of their involvement in esports.
Great sponsor for Liquid. Looks like all those new German start-up companies (NEEDforSEAT, XMG, etc.) that first featured on HomeStory Cup are now going big all over e-sports. I like it! <3
bought a "fastback" for my old man's 70th birthday and have to admit I'm getting more jealous everytime I walk past that chair... Needless to say my dad approves of it as well
I want one of these chairs so bad... but when I checked if I could get one I couldn't cause they don't sell in the US. Hopefully that'll change sometime soon cause i'm sure the US would be a profitable market for them.
Edit: I take everything back, apparently they are now available in the US (either that or I was making some sort of mistake). All I need to do now is save upwards of $300 dollars!
I need a new chair and i can't find a place to buy one for Australia This was so well timed i thought the SC2 gods were shining on me to buy that chair. Apparently not haha.
I've always wanted a DX racer chair, but I never actually bought one. After seeing this post however, I went to MAXFPS.no (Only shop that ships to norway) and I actually bought one! Keep doing what you're doing NEEDforSEAT, this sponsorship is awesome!

Needed a new chair because mine is falling appart.. Got the DXRacer Smooth Chief:http://www.needforseatusa.com/chair_dxracer_smooth_chief because it looked a little less "1337 gamer nerd" than the other models and I'm nearly 27 :p but they're all pretty sweet looking.
They ask you where you heard about them and one of the options is Team Liquid. TL HECK YESSS!!!!
...hopefully this chair gets me into Masters LOLOLOLOL :p :p
I actually need a new chair, and since i've had some back issues, this can be the opportunity, i may go wild with the wallet, and buy myself something nice. Plus i like supporting my favorite esport site =)
I have one problem with most chair manufacturers, do they have a model for tall people who are not fat?
That's the issue i've had these past years. I'm tall ( 1meter 96, which is 6.43feet according to an internet converter thingy, i used for my fellow americans, don't know if that makes sense), so most of the chair's support aren't designed for my size, and therefore don't feel good, OR they are made for tall AND fat guys, so they are way too wide.
That's a little bit sad, for teamliquid ... because I want to buy one.
I'm curious if anyone did try the laptop tray exptension (http://www.dxracer.net/cat11_laptop-tray.html) I't looks cool but i'm not sure if it is usefull or confortable ... If anyone had experience I'd appreciate an answere here.
